Chapter 20 Gift
After Shen Jize came out of the hospital, he hurriedly took a taxi.
"Master, Central Square."
"I just drove out of there, and there were people inside, blocking the motor vehicle lane. Young man, why don't you change a car?" the middle-aged uncle complained.
Shen Ji Ze frowned, took out the remaining cash from his pocket and put it on the front seat.
"Master, I have something urgent to do. Please help me."
The driver looked at the red banknotes and then changed the subject. He gripped the steering wheel tightly and said, "We can go again. Hold on tight, young man."
The next second, he stepped on the accelerator and quickly overtook the cars in front.
Chen Jize had no time to pay attention to the scenery outside the window. He took out his cell phone and called Wen Eryu, but the call kept showing no one answered.
He had planned to go out early today, but unexpectedly Dada suddenly fainted at home.
Xue Fenghua hadn't gotten off work yet, so he was the only one at home. After replying to Wen Eryu's message, he went to the hospital with Dada in his arms.
Fortunately, Dada was fine, he just didn't eat lunch and had hypoglycemia.
He called Wen Eryu again.
"Beep - the number you dialed is currently unanswered. Please try again later." The cold female voice kept repeating this sentence.
After arriving at the Central Square, before the taxi even stopped, Shen Jize opened the door and ran into the huge sea of people.
"Sorry, please make way." Shen Jize kept talking as he squeezed through the crowd.
The next second, the crowd surged, the cheers grew louder and louder, and a brilliant straight line was drawn across the darkness.
"Bang--"
Fireworks bloomed in the inky black sky, revealing pink and purple heart shapes, illuminating the faces of everyone present.
"Chen Jize!"
The girl's voice penetrated the noisy crowd and reached his ears.
Wen Eryu stood on the stone bench in the middle of the square, smiling and waving at him.
She shaped her hand into a trumpet, put it to her mouth, and yelled, "Here I am!"
Passersby looked towards her one after another, and for a moment, they seemed to have become the protagonists of this world.
Shen Jize's dim heart suddenly came alive. He quickened his pace and ran towards Wen Eryu.
The fireworks above the city had not yet fallen. Wen Eryu got down from the stone bench and wiped the place where he had just stepped with a tissue.
Just as Shen Ji Ze was about to speak, she saw a man standing next to her.
Wen Eryu stood in front of him and said softly, "You are finally here."
"Yeah." Shen Jize suppressed the bitterness in his heart and replied.
Wen Eryu couldn't tell his emotions, but she felt that he was very different from usual.
"Is he your...classmate?" Song Bowen walked up from behind her and asked.
Wen Eryu nodded: "His name is Shen Jize."
"I know."
"Oh?" Wen Eryu said in surprise, "Do you know each other?"
Song Bowen chuckled softly and said, "I don't know you, but I know you."
He said this to Chen Jize.
The day he met him at KFC, Song Bowen already knew his name.
At that time, Wen Eryu's gaze stayed on this boy for a full ten seconds.
Shen Ji Ze still looked as if he wanted to keep strangers away. He was like an iceberg, with no expression on his face.
He ignored Song Bowen and kept his eyes on Wen Eryu.
After a moment, he asked, "Did you make an appointment with him tonight?"
Wen Eryu saw that he had misunderstood, and quickly waved his hands to explain: "No, Brother Bo Wen and I just happened to meet."
Song Bowen replied, "Indeed."
Wen Eryu smiled awkwardly. She always felt that this scene was a little weird, but she couldn't tell what was wrong.
After the fireworks faded into the darkness, some people in the square dispersed.
Song Bowen looked at the work message on his phone and frowned unhappily, but he couldn't refuse.
"Eryu, I have something else to do, so I'll leave first." He looked at Shen Jize and said, "Don't go home too late."
"Okay, then you go and do your work first, Brother Bo Wen." Wen Eryu replied, feeling relieved.
After seeing Song Bowen off, only she and Shen Jize were left standing in the cold wind.
Wen Eryu took a deep breath and pouted, "You're late."
"I'm sorry." Shen Jize said.
Wen Eryu wasn't really angry: "Let's go inside the mall, it's too cold outside."
But Chen Jize remained unmoved, his dark eyes fell on Wen Eryu.
"What's wrong?" Wen Eryu felt a little uncomfortable when he looked at her. "Is there something on my face?"
She took out her cell phone and looked at her face carefully in front of the dark screen.
After a while, the corners of Shen Jize's lips tightened into a straight line: "You call him Brother Bo Wen."
After the sound fell, there was silence for a while.
Wen Eryu then realized that he was bothered by the way she addressed Song Bowen.
She turned her face to the side and laughed out loud: "You are so stingy, Shen Jize."
Shen Ji Ze said nothing, his knuckles turning white as he tugged at the edge of his clothes, and his breathing became rapid.
He turned around and walked forward, Wen Eryu followed him with a smile.
"Are you jealous?"
"No."
"Then..." she thought for a moment and said, "You hate him?"
"……No."
Wen Eryu happily walked around to him, stood on tiptoe, and gently touched his head: "Hey, don't be angry."
"Wen Eryu!"
Shen Jize paused. This was the first time he called her by her full name.
At this moment, he could hear his heartbeat getting faster and faster.
"I'm not angry." He took out a small gray box from his pocket and handed it to her. "This is for you. A New Year's gift."
Wen Eryu was a little flattered: "You actually prepared this, why didn't you tell me earlier, I didn't prepare anything for you."
She took it, then looked up and asked, "Can I open it now?"
"Okay." Shen Jize responded.
As soon as it was opened, the small light in the box lit up, shining on the silver sunflower necklace.
"Wow." Wen Eryu exclaimed, "It's so beautiful."
The corners of Shen Jize's mouth raised an arc imperceptibly: "As long as you like it."
"Please help me put it on." She put the necklace in his hand, and then couldn't wait to lift up her hair.
Shen Jize swallowed his saliva, suppressed the nervousness in his heart, and carefully passed the necklace through the girl's neck. He failed several times.
Wen Eryu let her hair down and gently stroked the necklace around her neck. The cool touch felt like eating a piece of sweet ice cream in the middle of winter.
She turned around and looked at him with a smile.
"Chen Ji Ze, Happy New Year."

The long-awaited winter vacation has finally arrived. Wen Eryu originally planned to stay in H City for the New Year and visit Lin Cheng and Shen Jize.
But Wen Liang planned to take her to S City to spend the winter.
City S has a pleasant climate and is surrounded by the sea. The winters on the mainland are very cold, so many people choose to come here to celebrate the Spring Festival.
Wen Eryu was packing clothes reluctantly in the room.
Wen Liang knocked on the door outside.
"Come in," she said.
"How's the packing going?" Wen Liang pushed open the door but didn't come in.
Wen Eryu sighed and said, "Dad, do we have to go to S City this year?"
Wen Liang saw her reluctance and said, "A friend of Dad's just opened a hotel over there, and he invited us over. Could it be that you have something else to worry about here?"
"No, no." Wen Eryu said guiltily, "I was planning to go find Lin Cheng to play."
"Are you sure it's Lin Cheng?"
"……certainly."
Wen Liang snorted softly, "You can play with her when you come back. The plane ticket has been booked. It's at 3 pm tomorrow. You don't need to bring too much stuff. If you need anything, you can buy it when you get there."
Wen Eryu just responded: "Oh oh."

While waiting for the flight, Wen Eryu took a photo of the airport and sent it to Shen Jize.
The other side quickly replied with a question mark.
Wen Kaishui: [I'm going to S City this Spring Festival, so I can't visit you during the winter break.]

There was silence for a moment before the other side replied.
SJZ: [It's okay, just be safe.]
Wen Eryu opened a line of words, but after thinking about it, she deleted them all and did not reply to him.
When they got off the plane, the driver picked her and Wen Liang up.
The black Maybach drove through the asphalt road lined with coconut trees. Wen Liang's friend ran a five-star resort hotel, and a row of staff had already been standing at the door to greet them.
Wen Eryu didn't even have to open the car door herself, as she and Wen Liang each had two luxury suites.
After all the luggage was settled, Wen Eryu came to the beach alone.
The sea under the setting sun was covered with a layer of dim filter, and many tourists were walking barefoot on the warm beach.
Wen Eryu specially wore a pair of straw sandals. She bought a young coconut at a stall, and the sweet coconut juice instantly bloomed in her mouth.
She found a place with few people and sat down.
The sea water kept lapping against her ankles, feeling a little cold, and the sea breeze had a hint of saltiness. The setting sun was gradually swallowed up by the sea level.
Sometimes, the good times are just like this.
It was already dark, and just as Wen Eryu was about to get up and go back.
There was a group of people gathered on the beach ahead. Wen Eryu originally wanted to go around them, but she saw a familiar face.
I didn't expect that I could still meet her even though I was so far away.
In the crowd, An Xinqing was being frantically pulled by her hair by a middle-aged woman.
The woman's figure was a little out of shape, and she blushed and cursed: "Bah, you shameless vixen, you dare to seduce my husband in broad daylight, I will teach you a lesson today!"
An Xinqing's voice was hoarse and her eyes were swollen from crying. Her frail body was no match for a woman.
"Someone's calling the police! She's a lunatic!" she screamed.
But no one present called the police. They were all taking videos with their mobile phones, for fear of missing such a "wonderful" scene.
No matter how An Xinqing explained, the woman insisted that she was a third party.
"I saw with my own eyes that you put your hands on my husband. You don't look that old, so how could you be so cheap?" The woman held An Xinqing tightly.
The woman's husband was like a transparent man, standing by silently watching them fight.
Wen Eryu didn't want to meddle in other people's business, but An Xinqing saw her at a glance, as if she had grabbed a life-saving straw.
She shouted at Wen Eryu: "Please, save me."
