Chapter 42 Don't Move
When Wen Eryu came back from the bathroom, all the dishes were served.
This time she was really hungry. She hadn't eaten a single bite since morning.
After eating half a bowl of rice, Wen Eryu noticed that Shen Jize seemed to have only eaten a few bites of vegetables.
"Why don't you eat?" She picked up another pair of unused chopsticks and added some dry pot cauliflower to his bowl.
Shen Jize came back to his senses from his trance. He looked at the food in the bowl and his heart trembled.
She had never been so nice to him before, let alone such a seemingly ordinary but very intimate act as picking up food for him.
There's no poison in this dish, is there?
When Shen Jize saw her eat it with his own eyes, he finally felt relieved.
After all, Wen Eryu had cooked for him once before, and after eating it, he went straight to the hospital for gastric lavage because the beans were not cooked thoroughly.
"Try it now, this cauliflower tastes delicious."
Shen Jize's Adam's apple rolled, then he picked up the chopsticks and tasted a piece.
“It’s really good.”
Wen Eryu looked at his expression and nodded with satisfaction.
The atmosphere during the meal was quite relaxed. Wen Eryu was so focused on eating that she didn't even notice the look in Shen Jize's eyes.
When they returned to the mansion, it was already afternoon. Wen Eryu only needed to persevere for another half day to get the project.
But think about it carefully, would Shen Ji Ze really let her accompany him for a whole day so easily?
Wen Eryu looked at him somewhat bewilderedly.
But Shen Jize went up to the second floor alone, and then she heard the door closing.
Wen Eryu: “…”
He just left her there.
Wen Eryu's intuition told him that things were not that simple.
The aunt at home was still Aunt Sun. When she saw Wen Eryu, she couldn't believe her eyes.
"Madam?" Aunt Sun walked forward excitedly. "Is it really you?"
Wen Eryu smiled at her, her voice choked with sobs: "It's me."
Before she divorced Chen Jize, only Aunt Sun treated her well and took care of her like her own daughter. How could Wen Eryu forget her?
Aunt Sun wiped the tears from her eyes and took her hand, "It's good that you're back, it's good that you're back."
Wen Eryu didn't know how to explain to Aunt Sun that she just came back to accompany Chen Jize for a day.
At the end of the day, she would still be gone.
"Aunt Sun, actually I..."
"Auntie Sun will make whatever you want to eat. I remember you like almond milk the most. Please sit here for a while."
Aunt Sun didn't wait for Wen Eryu to continue speaking, she hurriedly turned and walked into the kitchen, put on an apron and started working.
Wen Eryu wanted to say something but stopped herself, and finally sat back on the sofa obediently.
At this time, the doorbell rang.
Wen Eryu was the only one in the living room. She looked around and walked to the door and opened it.
The next second, a red figure appeared in front of her.
Wen Eryu recognized her at a glance as the girl who stood next to Shen Jize at the last dinner.
Du Yan is very eye-catching. Her carefully styled long curly hair is loosely tied up, and a few strands of hair are deliberately hung down, brushing against the side of her snow-white neck, with a lazy look. Her red lips are plump and her eyeliner is raised, which makes her eyes look charming.
She is only in her early twenties, but she dresses very maturely.
"Why is it you?" Du Yan frowned and looked at the woman standing inside. "Didn't you divorce Shen Jize? Where is he?"
Wen Eryu ignored her words and kept thinking about who she was in his mind.
But as she thought about it, her head began to hurt.
"Get out of the way." Du Yan pushed her away without any hesitation and walked in with a lunch box in her hand.
Wen Eryu was caught off guard by her and her slender waist hit the display case beside her heavily.
She gasped in pain.
Du Yan didn't even look at her and shouted in the living room: "Uncle Shen, I'm here."
However, no one responded to her.
Wen Eryu restrained his expression and sat down on the sofa.
"Get up, is this something you can sit on?"
"It's just a sofa, why can't I sit on it? Little sister, you're being too nosy."
Du Yan gritted her teeth, her eyes sharp, and walked forward to pull her away.
As the two were pulling each other, Wen Eryu suddenly let go.
Du Yan didn't expect her to do this, and the lunch box in her hand fell to the ground.
The boiling hot porridge in the lunch box spilled onto the wooden floor, and Du Yan's hand was burned red.
"You bitch, no wonder everyone dislikes you!" Du Yan broke down and started to attack Wen Eryu.
But the next second, she changed the subject and her tone became aggrieved.
"Sister, if you don't like me, I'll just leave. There's no need to push me."
Wen Eryu: “……?”
"Ah - my hand hurts so much." Du Yan's eyes turned red, and then she looked at the man not far away.
Wen Eryu followed her gaze and suddenly realized why Du Yan's attitude changed so quickly.
She rolled her eyes and said speechlessly, “You don’t have to pretend in front of him.
Du Yan said delicately, "Uncle Shen, it's all her fault. She's so mean. She pushed someone and refused to admit it."
Shen Jize ignored her and didn't even look at her from beginning to end.
Wen Eryu asked back, "Was it a ghost that bumped into me at the door just now?"
"How can I get in if you're blocking my way there?"
"This house is not small, the hallway at the door can accommodate at least four or five people." Wen Eryu covered her mouth with her hands, revealing a surprised expression. "Oh, it's such a pity that your eyesight is not good at such a young age."
"Wen Eryu!" Du Yan rushed to her and glared at her angrily.
"That's enough." Shen Jize on the side shouted.
He strode towards them both.
Just when Du Yan thought that Shen Jize would help her teach this ungrateful woman a lesson, he actually passed her and walked to Wen Eryu's side.
Shen Jize put his hand on Wen Eryu's waist and asked softly, "Does it hurt?"
Wen Eryu nodded. She actually didn't want to show her vulnerable side in front of Shen Jize.
But she was really hurt just now.
Du Yan was so angry at the scene that she even ignored the burning sensation on her hands.
"Uncle Shen, you should help me."
Shen Jize turned around and glanced at her up and down.
A cold feeling of oppression made Du Yan shiver. She had never seen him like this before.
Shen Ji Ze actually treated her harshly for that woman.
Du Yan couldn't swallow this breath. She walked to Shen Jize's side in small steps and wanted to hold his hand.
But he was quickly dodged by Shen Jize: "Du Yan, respect yourself, I am just your sponsor."
This short sentence made Du Yan understand that this was the only relationship between them.
"But..." Du Yan's tears fell.
Shen Jize said indifferently: "You crossed the line today."
After he finished speaking, he picked up Wen Eryu and carried her horizontally, and went upstairs.
In the living room, Du Yan clenched her hands tightly and stared at the backs of both of them.
So what if he is her sponsor? She will definitely get what she wants.
Before coming out of the mountains, Du Yan vowed that she would get rid of those mountains and climb onto the branches to become a phoenix.
*
The world was spinning.
Wen Eryu's nose was instantly invaded by a cold breath with a hint of tobacco.
Her cheek pressed against his chest through the thin fabric.
The vibrations coming from there were violent and rapid, it was the heart beating uncontrollably in the chest, making the eardrums numb.
"Hmm..." Wen Eryu felt like she was about to fall and moved slightly.
"Don't move."
His voice rang out above his head, and his footsteps were quick and heavy. In a few steps, he reached the large leather sofa in the depths of the study.
Wen Eryu was put down not too gently, sinking deep into the soft yet cold leather.
Shen Jize then leaned over and half-knelt on one knee on the carpet at the edge of the sofa, and a shadow instantly enveloped him.
Before she could react, Shen Jize's calloused fingertips suddenly lifted the piece of fabric behind her waist.
"What are you doing!" Wen Eryu tried to pull down her clothes in panic.
Only when he saw the purple spot on her back did Shen Jize stop what he was doing.
He had just seen the whole process downstairs in the corridor on the second floor. After Wen Eryu bumped into the cabinet, he couldn't let go of his worry.
Shen Jize took out a small bottle of medicinal oil from the cabinet, and the cold medicinal oil was instantly melted by the heat in his palm.
Wen Eryu bit her lips tightly, and her breathing was particularly clear in the silent study.
Time flows stickily in extreme pain and confused senses.
The heavy curtains in the study blocked out the outside light. Only a wall lamp cast a dim and ambiguous glow in the corner, blurring the entangled shadows of the two people onto the dark carpet.
The hand on the shoulder loosened its grip at some point.
But his hand did not leave. Instead, it slid along the shoulder line very slowly and tentatively towards the white and tender skin on the back of the neck.
The moment the fingertips touched the skin, both of them felt like they were struck by an invisible electric current and their bodies trembled at the same time.
Shen Jize's movements suddenly stopped.
He panted and locked eyes with Wen Eryu, their breaths intertwining and colliding at an extremely close distance.
At this moment, Wen Eryu thought he would kiss her.
But Shen Ji Ze suddenly closed his eyes, and when he opened them again, the surging undercurrent in his eyes was forcibly suppressed, replaced by terrible calmness and pain, and the fingertips that rested on the back of his neck suddenly withdrew.
After a moment, he stood up suddenly, his movements were hasty and awkward, his steps were heavy, and he rushed out of the study almost as if he was escaping.
The door was closed with a dull thud.
The strong smell of medicinal oil lingered in the air, pungent and acrid.
Wen Eryu touched her hot face, then shook her head to try to wake herself up.
She didn't know if it was her illusion, but the pain in her waist seemed to ease a little.
She pulled her clothes in place, stood up and tried to go out.
But when Wen Eryu passed by the desk, he suddenly stopped.
The photo of her and Song Bowen was prominently placed on top of a pile of documents.
Wen Eryu walked over and picked up the photo. Her pupils trembled instantly. This photo was taken not long ago when Song Bowen sent her home.
A terrible and shocking thought exploded in her mind.
It turns out that Shen Jize has been monitoring her!
