Chapter 16: Shouldn’t you put your hands around my neck?
On the day of leaving for the island for training, Song Lehan took the initiative to sit next to Xu Jiangcuo.
The island is located in the South China Sea, completely isolated from the mainland. The island is quite large, and is blocked by a mountain in the middle. The training area requires climbing over the mountain to reach.
After getting off the boat, Song Lehan followed Xu Jiangcuo closely. Even when Ye Shuqing came, she followed closely. Although she didn't say anything, her presence was very strong.
This made Ye Shuqing a little annoyed.
She pulled Song Lehan away and said in a bad tone: "Why do you always follow Ah Cuo? Haven't you given up on him? What are you doing now?!"
"What does it have to do with you! I can pursue you if I want to, and give up if I want to." Song Lehan rolled his eyes at her, shook off her hand, and tried to catch up with Xu Jiangcuo.
Unexpectedly, Ye Shuqing thrust hard into her again.
"Song Lehan! What do you want? Why do you keep pestering Acuo? Can't you just help me?"
Ye Shuqing rarely softened her tone and looked sad, as if Song Lehan really owed her something.
Song Lehan's face darkened and he shouted coldly, "Let go!"
"I won't!" Ye Shuqing refused to give in and deliberately increased the strength in his hands.
Song Lehan lost his patience and was about to push her away when he saw Xu Jiangcuo turn around and look towards them from the corner of his eyes.
In a panic, she tried to take a step back, but her foot hit a loose stone. She lost her balance and fell to the ground.
Ye Shuqing covered her mouth and exclaimed, "Ah!"
Hearing the sound, the people around stopped what they were doing and looked towards them.
Noticing the gazes from all around, Ye Shuqing quickly waved her hands and explained loudly: "She, she fell down accidentally. It has nothing to do with me."
"Is this true? I just saw them fighting."
"I don't know. Never mind. We can't afford to offend them."
The whispering voices reached Ye Shuqing's ears. Especially after seeing the camera, she became more anxious, "It really wasn't me! Stop talking nonsense!"
At this moment, Song Lehan was sitting on the ground, frowning in pain.
She eased the pain in her foot, then looked around and took the initiative to explain for Ye Shuqing: "I fell by myself, it has nothing to do with Qingqing."
"You heard it, didn't you? I'm not that bad!" Ye Shuqing glared at the group of people who had just been discussing her, then took a step towards Song Lehan and asked awkwardly, "How are you? Can you get up?"
Song Lehan tried to stand up on her own, but her legs were too weak. She wanted to try again, but was stopped by Xu Jiangcuo.
"You might have sprained your foot, and standing up might cause a second sprain."
Xu Jiangcuo explained expressionlessly, and then without waiting for Song Lehan to react, he picked her up, turned around and put her on the stone pier.
He carefully took off Song Lehan's shoes. When his hand just touched the edge of the socks, his fingertips hesitated and he looked up to explain: "I have to take off your socks to know what's going on."
Song Lehan nodded in response, and the next second his socks were taken off by Xu Jiangcuo.
Just at this moment, the accompanying doctor also came over.
Xu Jiangcuo took the initiative to give up his seat to allow the doctor to treat him.
"It looks like she's twisted it. She needs some medicine." The doctor took out a spray from the medicine box and sprayed it a few times on the red and swollen area of Song Lehan's ankle. Looking up, he instructed Xu Jiangcuo, "Carry her on your back later. She can't walk like this."
Xu Jiangcuo glanced at Song Lehan and nodded, "Yeah, okay."
Seeing this, the director didn't waste any time and told the rest of the group to continue forward, leaving Xu Jiangcuo and Song Lehan to walk slowly behind. After all, they weren't the main characters, so whether they had a shot or not was just a matter of a word.
Just like that, the main force dispersed, leaving only Xu Jiangcuo and Song Lehan behind.
"Does it still hurt?" Xu Jiangcuo saw Song Lehan frowning and thought her foot was hurting.
Song Lehan looked at him and shook his head, "It doesn't hurt too much, I just can't use enough strength."
"Then I'll carry you." He squatted in front of Song Lehan and invited, "Come on up."
Song Lehan looked at Xu Jiangcuo's strong arms and hesitated. "This road is not easy to walk on. Can you carry me on your back?"
Xu Jiangcuo placed his hands on his knees, turned his head and chuckled: "Even if you weigh 200 pounds, I can still carry you all the way."
"You only weigh 200 pounds!" Song Lehan was unconvinced and muttered, "Even if it's a metaphor, it can't be this exaggerated."
"Okay, okay, I was wrong." Xu Jiangcuo turned back and put his hands behind his back. "Come on, if you hesitate any longer you will miss them."
Song Lehan bit her lower lip and slowly stood up to lie on his back. The hot touch made her face flush. She placed her hands on his shoulders, not daring to overstep the line.
"That's enough." She reminded quietly, her voice rarely shy.
"Are you sure you want to do this?" Xu Jiangcuo hesitated. "Shouldn't your hands... be around my neck?"
Song Lehan pursed her lips and hugged his neck shyly, "Hold, hold me."
"It's just a few days since we last talked. Why are you so shy with me?"
As soon as he finished speaking, Xu Jiangcuo stood up steadily, his hot hands tightly grasping her legs, his steps steady and powerful. He walked forward and said, "I've known you for so long, and I've never seen you so shy."
Song Lehan lowered his head, and his hair brushed gently against his neck as he walked. The soft touch caused an itch.
"I'm not shy." Song Lehan said stubbornly, "I just feel embarrassed."
Xu Jiangcuo smiled lightly, "What are you embarrassed about?"
Song Lehan couldn't say it.
After all... they were very familiar with each other's bodies, and it's a bit late to say sorry now.
She leaned on Xu Jiangcuo's back and could faintly hear his heartbeat, the strong rhythm made her feel at ease for some reason.
This is not the first time Xu Jiangcuo has carried Song Lehan on his back.
When they were together before, Xu Jiangcuo would carry Song Lehan back to the dormitory after get off work.
They walked on the road like this, and from time to time they could hear the envy of passers-by.
Xu Jiangcuo said that he would carry her on his back for the rest of his life.
Even if she became an 80-year-old old woman, he would carry her home.
"Xu Jiangcuo," Song Lehan suddenly said, asking without reason, "Do you still hate onions?"
Xu Jiangcuo tilted his head, and although he didn't understand, he still replied: "I don't hate it anymore."
After so many years in the military camp, his eating habits have long changed.
It doesn’t matter whether you like it or not, as long as you can eat it.
People always change.
Song Lehan's ankle began to ache. He slowly closed his eyes, frowned, and continued to ask:
"If onions can be okay with it, why can't I?"
Xu Jiangcuo's eyes flickered, his pupils dilated, and his heart, which had been tense for many days, suddenly relaxed.
In the silence, he heard the person on his back say again: "Can you try to accept me too?"
"We are getting to know each other again. Just like you said, it starts with sincerity, liking, and trust."
"Okay?"
