Chapter 65: You Simply Don’t Want Me (Contents of the Note)

"Baby Lele:

Hello. Let me introduce myself. I'm your current boyfriend and future husband, Xu Jiangcuo. First of all, happy birthday to Lele, the cutest and most beloved girl in the world!

Today is our 212th day together, and also the 243rd day I've liked you. Haha, you didn't know that, did you? Actually, I've seen you before. At the library entrance, you were wearing a light yellow sweater, dark jeans, holding an umbrella, playing with a kitten on the sidewalk. Back then, I thought you were quite interesting. Even more interesting, I've seen you all the time since then.

Later, we met unexpectedly. You started showing me more and more affection, and I felt something was wrong. I wondered, how could you possibly like me? I have a bad temper, I'm quiet, and I'm boring. And you, on the other hand, are beautiful, lively, cheerful, and incredibly loving. How could you possibly like me? So, what exactly do you like about me?

When you confessed your love, I was genuinely surprised. I was terrified, afraid that we didn't know each other well enough, afraid that you'd leave me once you knew my flaws. But I wanted to be with you forever. Fortunately, we're still together today. I hope I can be there for every birthday of yours in the future.

I've already written so much, but it feels like I haven't said enough. Only on paper can I truly express what's truly in my heart. These days with you, I'm so happy, so incredibly happy! But there are also times of anxiety. It seems like you've never truly expressed your needs to me; you're always cheerful. Even when we argue, you quickly adjust and act as if nothing happened.

I feel like I can't see through you. Perhaps I haven't done enough to earn your true trust. Don't worry, I'll work hard to be a good boyfriend, to love and cherish you. If possible, could you please share your true feelings with me? I just want to understand you, not hurt you.

I don't know if you'll see these words. I'll sew them more clearly so you can find them quickly!

Lele, I want to be with you forever. Let's not break up, okay? If there's anything you don't like, tell me. We can solve the problem together, not me.

My parents are like that, and I don't want to be like them. If I have the chance in the future, I will take you to my hometown and tell you about my childhood.

I still have so much to say, but I can't think of what to write at the moment. So let it be, I'll have another chance to write to you in the future anyway.

Finally, Xu Jiangcuo will always love Song Lehan.

Your Xu Jiangcuo."

It's true.

They really were together!

It turns out that everything that happened in my memory was true!

Xu Jiangcuo put down the note and was stunned for a long time before he came to his senses. He crumpled the note into a ball and put it back where it belonged.

After walking out of Song Lehan's room, Xu Jiangcuo was still confused.

This is worse than not being able to remember anything that happened between the two of them.

He couldn't remember at all, and he could still treat Song Lehan as a stranger. But now, he didn't know how they broke up, so how could he face Song Lehan?

If he took the initiative to break up, it would be even more...

But it shouldn't be him.

After all, it was written on the note that we should solve problems, not people.

But what if?

The more he thought about it, the more upset Xu Jiangcuo became. He sat in the yard, sighing one after another.

It was almost noon when he got up and went to the kitchen.

Song Lehan returned home and peeked through the window, only to find Xu Jiangcuo wasn't in the house. Puzzled, she heard the sound of chopping vegetables coming from the kitchen.

Putting her bag down, she walked towards the kitchen.

Sure enough, Xu Jiangcuo was wearing an apron and cutting vegetables with a knife.

"Hey, didn't you say you'd wait for me to come back?" Song Lehan walked over, patted his arm, and motioned him to leave. "I'm not home. What if you suddenly faint?"

Xu Jiangcuo stopped what he was doing and turned to look over.

Song Lehan's concerned look made it difficult for him to look directly at her.

He tilted his head, panic flashing in his eyes, "I'm fine now, you don't have to worry about me so much."

Song Lehan straightened his body, looked at his head carefully, and reached out to touch it. "Is it really not painful anymore? I checked it online. A concussion can cause headaches, nausea, poor memory, and loss of balance."

"You don't have these reactions?"

Xu Jiangcuo shook his head and avoided her gaze in panic, "No."

"Maybe your case is relatively mild." Song Lehan explained to himself, turning back to push him out of the kitchen, "Just go and rest, I'll take care of you these few days."

"I really can." Xu Jiangcuo insisted.

After a long struggle, Song Lehan finally compromised.

So, one person cut the vegetables while the other cooked. Before long, a hearty lunch was ready.

Song Lehan and Xu Jiangcuo sat down face to face, and the atmosphere was a little weird.

Halfway through the meal, Song Lehan remembered discussing Puchi with Teacher Li in the morning. After thinking about it, she decided to tell Xu Jiangcuo.

"This morning, I discussed Puchi's case with Teacher Li. Teacher Li said we could find a lawyer, consult with the relevant case, and see if we can hand Puchi over to the custody of the relevant agency."

"I think this method is much more reliable than the two of us fighting alone."

At this point, she apologized again, "I'm sorry, I oversimplified the problem and caused you this."

Xu Jiangcuo raised his head, shook it blankly, and consoled himself: "No, it's okay, I don't blame you."

After a pause, he continued, "After all, this was an accident. No one could have expected it."

Song Lehan sighed, remembering the scene when Teacher Li brought people to rescue them. He then turned to discuss with Xu Jiangcuo, "Yesterday, thanks to Teacher Li and the villagers who were willing to come and help. I want to buy something to express my gratitude. What do you think would be appropriate?"

Xu Jiangcuo pondered for a moment, but couldn't think of what to give.

"Well, I'm not sure. But normally, buying some eggs and fruit is enough."

Song Lehan nodded thoughtfully, "Then I'll go buy it this afternoon and deliver it to you."

"Then I'll take you there," Xu Jiangcuo suggested. "The motorcycle is still there."

Song Lehan immediately refused: "No, what if you get dizzy halfway? No, I can't let you go."

Xu Jiangcuo chuckled, his tone somewhat helpless, "We Tibetan men are not that fragile. It's just a bump on the head, it's no big deal."

Seeing that he was so confident, Song Lehan also felt that he seemed to be making a big deal out of nothing.

"Okay then, take me there."

Song Lehan smiled sweetly.

Finally, it was no longer her turn to ask questions and Xu Jiangcuo to answer them.

Seeing the smile on her face, familiar scenes flashed through Xu Jiangcuo's mind.

He seemed to have seen Song Lehan smile like this at someone else.
