Chapter 23 His kiss pressed down

Chapter 23 His kiss pressed down

Chen Jiashu quickly wiped Qin Qiao's body down and helped her change into her pajamas from the closet.

The alcohol tinged her pale skin with a rosy hue, especially her cheeks, which were the same color as her lips, a fact that even someone with his keen eyesight could clearly see.

She didn't sleep very soundly; her breathing was uneven and somewhat heavy. Occasionally, she would mutter a few words in her sleep, alternating between the three short phrases: "bastard," "unforgive," and "Jiashu."

He parted her thick, black hair with his fingertips, revealing her delicate face, which was smaller than the palm of his hand. Since he couldn't see clearly with his eyes, he used his other senses to "see" her. Beneath her thin eyelids were round pupils, pink lips, a pert nose, and skin that seemed to break at a touch. Her face was still a bit too thin, with a slightly bony shape. He paused for a moment, then continued to explore. With each inch his fingertips traced, his face drew closer.

When her cherry-pink lips filled his moist, dark eyes, Chen Jiashu lowered his head and placed a very light kiss on her cheek.

His heart trembled, and a surge of heat rose in his eyes as if melting something. Chen Jiashu hurriedly looked up, but at that moment, a burning pain shot through his right leg.

He remained in a semi-squatting position, his left knee on the floor and his right leg bent. He touched the area and found that the cloth covering the injured spot was slightly damp.

Perhaps it was still wet from the rain, Chen Jiashu withdrew his hand, propped himself up on the edge of the bed, and got up.

The room was brightly lit but quiet. White light streamed into Qin Qiao's slightly open eyes, and she uncomfortablely raised her hand to shield her eyes.

But when she heard footsteps, she opened her fingers and saw Chen Jiashu carrying a washbasin in both hands, walking around the foot of the bed and steadily into the bathroom.

The dark blue silk pajama set, with its flowing fabric, outlined his slender figure, except for his exceptionally broad shoulders, which could bear many things: responsibility, morality, indomitable spirit, and even carrying her on his back.

Qin Qiao's eyelashes trembled slightly, and her damp eyelashes brushed against her fingers.

No, no, why would Chen Jiashu be at her house?

She sprang to her feet with a jolt, the mattress creaking as the blanket slipped off her and piled onto her thighs. The large white wall in front of her swayed a few times; getting up too quickly aggravated her dizziness, and she also felt a bit nauseous.

The natural wood-colored glass sliding door, the off-white dressing table, the cherry blossom pink curtains, the European-style bed... everything here was personally selected by her. This was... their former marital home.

Chen Jiashu's home!

“Qiaoqiao…”

Hearing the commotion outside, Chen Jiashu came out of the bathroom and asked as he walked towards her, "You're awake?"

He walked around the foot of the bed just like before, but this time he walked a little faster and stopped when his calf bumped into the edge of the bed.

Then he bent down, placed his palm on the bed, slowly sat down, and turned to face her.

I don't know if it was because I was drunk and saw things wrong, but when he bumped into the bed, he seemed to shiver as if in pain.

Qin Qiao's expression darkened as she glanced down at the pajamas she was wearing from many years ago. Instantly, it felt as if a hundred pounds of weight had pressed down on her. It was like a key that unlocked her memories, and those past scenes buried in this room... sweet, warm, angry, and abruptly severed, flooded into her mind like a bursting floodgate.

A sharp, throbbing pain shot through her heart, just like that night when he glared at her with bloodshot eyes, gripping her wrist tightly to stop her from leaving.

"I won't stop you from pursuing your dreams, but go get a divorce tomorrow!"

His usual gentleness vanished. He threatened her fiercely, and she couldn't break free. She lowered her head, abandoned all reason, and bit down hard on the back of his hand.

He only groaned softly, neither pushing nor dodging, just letting her bite him, letting her go crazy...

“Qiaoqiao…”

His tone even carried a hint of gentleness, showing he didn't blame her at all.

Qin Qiao suddenly looked up, but tears blurred her vision, and she could only see the blurry figure of Chen Jiashu approaching.

Knock knock knock!

Her heart was pounding, almost bursting out of her throat. She tried to hide, but he wouldn't let her go.

Enraged once again, all the resentment in her heart surged up. She changed from sitting to kneeling and threw herself into his arms. Her slender arms hooked around his neck, giving him no chance to react. She buried her face in his neck, where the heat burned her cheeks. She didn't care and bit him.

I used all my strength.

"Well……"

The man let out a low groan of pain.

Her waist was wrapped up, and the more she struggled, the tighter the man gripped her, as if in self-torture.

Until she tasted a trace of blood, Qin Qiao was jolted awake as if struck by a blow to the head. She stretched her neck and looked into Chen Jiashu's eyes, which were filled with deep affection and love.

She quickly looked away, her head drooping guiltily.

The teeth marks were clearly visible on the edge of her neck, with faint traces of blood seeping from the edges of several of the teeth marks.

In an instant, her pupils trembled violently, the drunkenness vanished completely, and her vision became clear and lucid.

Chen Jiashu remained seated to the side, but to make it easier for her to retaliate, he moved much closer to her, letting her hit and scold him as she pleased.

Same as six years ago.

“Qiao Qiao…” Chen Jiashu gazed at her quietly.

Her face was flushed red, making her exceptionally beautiful. He swallowed, but his throat remained unusually dry.

"sorry……"

She instinctively shrank back, but Chen Jiashu's hand held her waist firmly, and a certain emotion welled up in the depths of his affectionate black eyes.

The moment this thought crossed her mind, everything went dark, and then her lips were pressed against something soft and heavy.

She couldn't help but turn her head to the side, and he used his other hand to grasp her chin and gently straighten it.

The kisses, like red-hot irons, landed on her forehead, the tip of her nose, and her cheeks...

A slight shiver ran down my spine.

The curtains weren't drawn, so the room was bright, and the window became a high-definition mirror, reflecting the furnishings inside clearly. She could vaguely see fine, silvery raindrops through the window, and she hurriedly turned her head, wanting to see more clearly.

As if punishing her for multitasking, her jaw was suddenly pried open by 'violence'.

Their lips and tongues intertwined, a tingling sensation coursing through her body, her limbs instantly losing strength. She collapsed onto the bed, and then Chen Jiashu pressed down on her.

He gently pried her hand apart, his long fingers filling the gaps between her fingers and holding her tightly, as if afraid she would disappear. She instinctively gripped his hand back.

Their fingers were intertwined.

She opened her eyes in the darkness, and the man before her was still the same man who had once captivated her with his unforgettable appearance. Starry eyes, sword-like eyebrows, and straight, pursed lips—she was so shallow; she had first fallen for his looks, and then for his soul.

She never regretted loving Chen Jiashu, but now she can't find a reason to love him anymore.

He suddenly stopped, gazing intently at her: "Qiaoqiao... I miss you."

He pressed his forehead against her shoulder, a slight smile playing on his lips. Six years had passed, and he thought of her every single day, not a single day had passed without him not thinking of her.

The lights in the room were too bright, like the operating lights in an operating room. Every time Qin Qiao opened her eyes, she would be blinded by the light.

This type of high-powered light was used in Chen Jiashu's shop a long time ago.

His repair work requires excellent eyesight, and because he is night blind, he cannot see the circuits and components clearly in slightly dark conditions.

When the house was being renovated, Chen Jiashu suggested that only his study should have this type of ceiling light, while the other rooms should have regular lighting fixtures.

The rest of the furnishings in the house remained unchanged, except for the lights, which had all been replaced. Qin then closed his eyes.

"Qiaoqiao...do you know how grateful I am to still be able to see you?"

Chen Jiashu's voice was husky and magnetic, with a hint of languor. He brushed aside the messy strands of hair on her cheek, then pecked her cheek before turning over and lying down to one side.

She glanced to the side.

The light danced on his damp eyelashes.

“An hour ago, the power went out, and I thought my eyes were completely ruined. My mind was a mess, I was thinking about everything: the company, stacks of documents, and you… I was afraid I wouldn’t even be able to find you.”

His chest rose and fell with his gentle tone, and the slight smile at the corner of his mouth was particularly charming.

Under her intense gaze, Chen Jiashu chuckled softly and turned his head.

Their eyes met.

A thin layer of tears welled up in her bloodshot eyes, and she said in a humble tone, "Now that you're back, please don't leave again, okay?"

Two buttons on the man's pajamas had fallen off at some point. The collar was already wide open, and with the buttons gone, a large expanse of white skin was revealed. Her gaze lingered on the slightly reddened area around his neck, where there were bite marks of unknown severity.

His eyes flickered.

She felt guilty towards Chen Jiashu, and... she had once felt intense love for him.

After a few seconds of hesitation, she asked him a question in return: "If my eyes are completely ruined... and you still think leaving me is for my own good, would you still leave me again?"

The question was asked on a whim.

Chen Jiashu's body stiffened slightly. It was this most natural physical reaction that made Qin Qiao feel as if she could see the future again, even though the man's lips curled into a slight smile as he promised, "No... Qiao Qiao, I will never leave you again."

This is Chen Jiashu; he has only ever thought of others in his life.

Qin Qiao seemed to have let go of her worries, and gently curved her lips into a smile. After a moment, her lips parted slightly: "Jia Shu, I remember all the kindness you've shown me over the years... every single one of it." Her voice was soft, but full of sincerity: "If there's anything I can do to help you in the future... I will do my best."

She probably wouldn't have been able to say these words without the influence of alcohol. When she was sober, she always resisted admitting that her current success was entirely due to Chen Jiashu's support and assistance.

Chen Jiashu propped himself up on his elbows, his entire weight resting on the bed, and his arm trembled violently.

He pondered the meaning of her words: "Every stroke... with all my might..." He read them softly, emphasizing the key points.

As he came to his senses, he let out a mournful laugh, a laugh as sharp as a night wind blowing through the empty mountains in the dead of winter.

The man had already sat up, and Qin Qiao followed suit, adjusting her clothes and remembering to button them up.

"Give it back...you came all this way just to...give it back to me?"

His voice was as low as dust, and there was a hint of despair hidden in the tremor.

She looked up and met his heavy gaze.

This man, who had always been resilient and unyielding in the face of wind and rain, was now so frail. Unable to bear seeing him like this, Qin Qiao leaned over and hugged him from the front, wrapping her arms tightly around his outer arms.

He confessed his true feelings: "I've never hated you, really... You're very important to me, really important... Jia Shu, if you need me, I will definitely come to you..."

"What if..."

Chen Jiashu's eyes were slightly closed, his thick eyelashes casting deep shadows beneath his eyes. His hot breath brushed against her ear, and his soft lips pressed against hers, his throat hoarse as if it had been ground by sand: "Would you be willing to remarry?"

Leaning back half an inch, Qin Qiao stared blankly at his face.

Her pale complexion, unlike that of a living person, made her eyes appear even redder, like blood. Chen Jiashu had been so good to her; she would give him her life, let alone remarry him.

But if...

He suddenly broke free; thanks to the innate strength of men, he didn't need much effort to escape her embrace.

My heart suddenly felt empty, as if a hole had been opened, and blood was gushing out.

Qin Qiao watched helplessly as he walked barefoot into the bathroom, his staggering figure causing her heart to ache.

staggering?

What happened to his leg...?

As soon as Qin Qiao got out of bed, she heard a "thump" from the bathroom, as if something had fallen to the floor.

She hadn't even had time to put on her slippers when she ran over, only to suddenly stop at the bathroom door.

The chill from the ground seeped into his kneecaps. Chen Jiashu wasn't unaware that Qin Qiao was watching him, but this was part of his daily routine.

Every time he accidentally knocked something over, he could only crawl and grope his way out, his eyes following his fingertips as they traced every inch of the ground, his knees moving forward alternately. This posture was ugly, embarrassing, and utterly undignified, always reminding him of that night when his dignity was trampled to pieces.

"Without a flashlight, you can't find anything; you're practically blind."

"Hahaha."

"The boss has over eight hundred in his wallet, he's quite wealthy."

"There's a card stuck on the flower, hehe, I'll read it to you: 'You are the love of my life,' hahaha, even a blind man has a girlfriend."

Chen Jiashu jumped up and pounced on one of the men, beating him until his head bled profusely.

Suddenly, a warm sensation covered the back of his hand. His thick, dark eyelashes trembled, and he saw that the hand, as white as jade, was only half the size of his own.

Chen Jiashu slowly turned his head and saw her naturally curved red lips, their bright red color opening and closing, as a soft voice rang out:

"Jia Shu... has been found."

He was completely unaware that she had knelt on the ground.

After a long pause, he heard himself say, with difficulty, "Thank you."
