Chapter 112: Remember to use your left hand when writing a letter of denunciation

Zhou Xiaoyu's face changed and he couldn't say the rest of the words.

Xu Yanfeng's gaze swept across her face. For a moment, Zhou Xiaoyu met his gaze and felt that there was a sharp arrow in his eyes, shooting straight at her.

Zhou Xiaoyu shuddered and hurriedly looked away. Her hands on her legs unconsciously clasped and clasped together, and sweat broke out on her palms.

Chilling, that's probably what it feels like.

Then, with a "bang", something hit the conference table, frightening Zhou Xiaoyu and making her tremble again. She glanced out of the corner of her eye and saw that it was Xu Yanfeng who threw a folder onto the table.

Zhou Xiaoyu always felt that it was directed at her, but she couldn't find the reason.

Xia Xi didn't react as violently as Zhou Xiaoyu. She slowly covered the lid of the thermos and placed the cup on the table, in case she started coughing later and she would have to rummage through her bag to find it.

After not seeing each other for a few days, Xu Yanfeng was still as bright and handsome as ever, standing tall on the mountaintop, untouchable by others. Unlike her, she made herself so miserable. She hadn't been sick for years, but when she was sick, it was like a mountain falling. Her cough was so strong that it shook the earth and her head was buzzing.

Even if she wanted to say a few more words to Xu Yanfeng, she didn't have the energy to do so. She might start coughing as soon as she opened her mouth.

Xia Xi suppressed his eager thoughts and sat in his seat in silence, thinking about what to eat after the meeting.

Everyone had not arrived yet, and Xu Yanfeng sat down without saying anything. The conference room was filled with a low pressure, even colder than outside.

Xu Yanfeng opened the folder and put one hand on it, seemingly reviewing the content of the meeting, but in fact, his eyes glanced at Xia Xi from time to time.

On the way to the teaching building that morning, they were quite far apart, so perhaps he misjudged her and didn't see Xia Xi's true emotions. Now observing her closely, apart from the fact that her illness had made her look a little haggard, she seemed unaffected.

If she had been punished, she wouldn't have acted so calmly.

Based on her past behavior, the school might punish her one second, and the next second she would find a way to blame him and hold him responsible.

Xia Xi wasn't unconscious when her mind wandered. She felt someone was looking at her, and the direction of that gaze was...

A name popped up in her mind, and she looked over in disbelief, just in time to catch sight of Xu Yanfeng.

The boy's thick eyelashes fluttered quickly, and he turned a page of paper with his hand, as if he had not been looking at her just now, but his eyes happened to fall on her face when he was thinking about something.

After everyone arrived, Xu Yanfeng gathered his thoughts, cleared his throat, and talked about several academic lectures next week. He said that the relevant work needed to be done well: "Set up conspicuous signage on campus, and decorate the auditorium. I hope..."

“Cough cough cough—”

Xu Yanfeng's speech was interrupted by a cough.

Facing the gazes of dozens of eyes, Xia Xi covered her mouth with one hand and coughed softly, then raised her other hand to signal, "Sorry." She looked at Xu Yanfeng, "You... cough cough cough... continue."

Xu Yanfeng glanced at her and continued, "The auditorium's layout should reflect solemnity and seriousness. Extraneous decorations should be removed, and flowers can be ordered a day in advance. Ask the head of the secretariat to approve the budget. Furthermore, some teachers at school have reported that since the beginning of winter, the attendance situation in classes has been…"

“Cough cough cough—”

Another violent coughing sounded, drowning out Xu Yanfeng's voice.

Xia Xi tried hard to keep her mouth shut, but couldn't stop coughing, so she quickly unscrewed the lid of the cup and drank a few sips of water.

Xu Yanfeng looked at her. When she first came in, her face was very pale, not a normal paleness, but a sickly paleness without blood. Her mouth was dry and chapped, and the lines on her lips could be seen. After coughing continuously, her face had some color, and her lips were not so dry after being moisturized by water.

He stared at the lavender thermos in her hand. It was the one the boy gave her that morning...

Retracting his gaze, Xu Yanfeng quickened his pace and said, "The Discipline Inspection Department will cooperate with the teachers, the monitors, and the league secretaries of each class to conduct random checks and roll calls at any time, especially during the first class in the morning."

There were still a few tasks to be done, so Xu Yanfeng finished his remarks and adjourned the meeting.

Xia Xi listened from beginning to end and found that their External Relations Department had nothing to do. He suddenly felt that this trip was in vain. Apart from looking at Xu Yanfeng a few more times, he gained nothing.

Moreover, the things Xu Yanfeng said in the meeting were not too important. He could have just sent a group document to inform them. There was no need to call everyone to a meeting.

Xia Xi thought silently but didn't say anything. He picked up the things on the table and prepared to leave. It was unlike the previous meetings where she dragged her feet and refused to leave after the meetings. She kept asking Xu Yanfeng questions and annoyed him a lot.

She picked up the thermos, glanced to the side, and suddenly stopped, her hand on the notebook where Zhou Xiaoyu was taking meeting notes.

Zhou Xiaoyu was about to close the notebook when Xia Xi reached out a hand to stop her. Her brows furrowed, and she shouted angrily, "What are you doing? Do you want to fight?!"

Those who had not left the meeting room turned to look over.

Xia Xi took his hand away and slowly gave Zhou Xiaoyu a meaningful smile.

Zhou Xiaoyu's furrowed brows showed no sign of relaxing; instead, they only grew tighter. She didn't understand what Xia Xi was laughing at, but her smile was remarkably similar to the one she'd worn the day she stole the credit for securing sponsorship.

It was the kind of smile that comes from watching someone else perform with confidence and assurance of victory, a kind of light and contemptuous smile.

Zhou Xiaoyu felt uneasy.

Xia Xi stood up, slung her bag over her shoulder, and patted Zhou Xiaoyu's shoulder twice, causing her body to tremble. Xia Xi didn't confront Zhou Xiaoyu in public. As they passed by, she leaned over slightly and whispered in her ear, "Next time you write a report, remember to use your left hand."
