Xia Xi never expected that Xu Yanfeng would say such a thing.
She carefully thought about the three words "you try", it seemed that his tone was very calm when he said it, without any threatening tone.
What is a threat?
It’s like one person says, “Believe it or not, I’ll beat you up,” and another person is not convinced and threatens, “Just try it.”
That's definitely not what Xu Yanfeng meant.
So... what exactly does he mean?
This person is so annoying. I always have to guess what he is thinking. His expressions and words are all incomprehensible.
Xia Xi's gaze moved from his deep eyebrows down, across his tall nose, and landed on his slightly pursed lips. His lips were not dark, but not light either, a perfect shade of pink. The shape of his lips was beautiful, and they looked so soft, like strawberry-flavored QQ candy, very kissable.
With a "gulp", Xia Xi swallowed a mouthful of saliva.
She was slightly stunned, as if she hadn't expected herself to be so useless. She actually swallowed her saliva. Was she greedy? Xu Yanfeng probably didn't hear her swallowing.
Xia Xi calmed his mind and stammered, "You said that yourself."
Just give it a try.
He was the one who asked her to try it, so it's not her fault.
Xia Xi clenched her fingers, encouraged herself, and then really moved forward.
Despite her usual recklessness, she was still a little nervous at the moment. Her movements were cautious and tentative, and she moved closer and closer, her heart beating faster than she could bear. Her lips were getting closer and closer to the corner of Xu Yanfeng's lips.
When the distance was only two centimeters, Xia Xi felt like her heart was about to explode, but Xu Yanfeng tilted his head back at this moment, widening the distance between them.
Two centimeters suddenly became twenty centimeters.
Xia Xi missed and stood there in a daze for a long time. Her heartbeat returned to normal, but something was different. It felt like a piece of her heart was hollowed out, and a huge sense of loss enveloped her like a tide.
The study room was so quiet that even breathing could not be heard. As the scene just played out before their eyes, many people unconsciously held their breath.
Xia Xi didn't hide the disappointment in her eyes. She looked at Xu Yanfeng quietly for a while. Then, with a voice filled with resentment, she said, "You just like to play tricks on me."
After saying that, she stopped looking at him and lowered her head to flip through the drawings on the table, venting her dissatisfaction.
The bastard Xu Yanfeng was always so distant towards her. He played with her like flying a kite. When she flew far away, he would pull the thin string in his hand and she would come back. When she came close, he would let go of the string and let the wind carry her away.
Xu Yanfeng didn't react at all. He was completely numb. He felt like a string in his brain had snapped, and it would never connect again. He hadn't expected Xia Xi to be so brave as to kiss him.
His chest, hidden within his clothes, rose and fell violently. If he wasn't trying to maintain his composure, he would have taken deep breaths to relieve his tension.
After an unknown amount of time, Xu Yanfeng looked to his right. Xia Xi was facing him sideways, concentrating on drawing, as if nothing had happened. But the warmth of her breath lingered on his face. How could it not have happened?

As noon approached, Xia Xi felt hungry from her stomach. She couldn't concentrate and let her mind wander.
She looked to the left and saw Xu Yanfeng typing on the keyboard. She reached out and tapped lightly on the table. He looked over distractedly. She moved her mouth and silently made the sound of "let's go eat".
Xu Yanfeng glanced at his watch and found that it was lunch time.
He closed the computer, stood up and went out, and Xia Xi followed him.
As soon as the two left, whispers broke out in the originally quiet study room.
"What's going on with these two? Are they together, or not?"
“It’s harder than a math problem.”
"I feel like my cerebellum is shrinking. Can anyone tell me what's going on?"
"I'm afraid no one knows except the parties involved."
"Why do I feel like Xu Yanfeng likes Xia Xi a little bit?"
"Fuck, she really got the man she loves!!!"
"Don't make it sound like Xia Xi is taking advantage. She's a beautiful woman, and there are so many people chasing after her, okay?"
"I really want to eat some melons, I really want to eat some melons. Is there any class representative who can summarize the timeline and tell me how these two people got to where they are now?"
Xu Yanfeng and Xia Xi were unaware of what others were speculating about their relationship. After eating in the cafeteria, they headed to the library together. They had left their belongings in the study room, intending to continue studying in the afternoon.
Xia Xi bought a can of coffee and a can of Wangzai milk from the vending machine in the lobby. She gave the coffee to Xu Yanfeng and asked, "Why don't you go back and catch up on some sleep?"
Xu Yanfeng: "There are still some things that haven't been dealt with."
"Oh." Xia Xi opened the ring with her fingers, took a sip of milk, and tilted her head to look at him. Unable to get the kiss rejection out of her mind, she said angrily, "Coward."
Xu Yanfeng looked at her doubtfully, as if he didn't understand who these three words that suddenly came out of her mouth were referring to.
Xia Xi held onto the handrail of the stairs and looked at him as she went upstairs: "I'm talking about you, are you still doubting it? You have the courage to say it, but you don't have the courage to follow through. If you're not a coward, who else can you be?"
Xu Yanfeng knew what she was talking about and pursed his lips without saying anything.
"I said it the night the power went out in the library, and I'll say it again now. Are you enjoying the process of me pursuing you?" So if he keeps dragging his feet and gives her a little hope, she will eagerly circle around him.
The bad nature of men.
She just didn't think that Xu Yanfeng had it too.
She had doubted herself before, thinking that she was being too sentimental.
She was not being overly sentimental. Xu Yanfeng just had feelings for her, and her feelings were right.
