Xia Xi woke up, her neck stiff. She held the back of her neck with one hand and straightened up. The coat on her back fell to the ground. She bent down to pick it up, dusted it off, and put it on the back of the chair. She picked up the phone on the table and took a look.
She thought she slept for a long time, but in fact it was only half an hour.
Xia Xi stretched and looked to the side. Xu Yanfeng was looking at the computer with headphones on. She tilted her neck and took the opportunity to glance at his computer screen. There was a foreigner speaking on the stage. It seemed to be a video of an academic lecture.
She lost interest, looked away and started to busy herself.
Two hours passed in a flash, and she completed all her study plans for the day. The last ToDolist item on the note was crossed out, and she let out a long breath.
Because Xu Yanfeng was here, Xia Xi was reluctant to leave. She read a book for a while out of boredom, but her mind was always wandering. She simply followed her true thoughts and turned her head to admire Xu Yanfeng's profile.
Xia Xi curled her lips as she thought of something, searching her phone for an origami tutorial she had saved. She pulled out a blank sheet of paper, pressed a ruler against it, cut it into narrow strips, and folded a rose according to the tutorial.
The white rose was too monotonous, so she found a watercolor marker from her pencil case and smeared a few strokes on each petal. The monotonous white rose turned into a gradient pink rose.
Xia Xi glanced at Xu Yanfeng. He was staring at the computer screen, still watching the lecture. It had been two hours and it hadn't finished yet. No one knew what the content was, but he was so fascinated by it.
She tore off a piece of paper, wrote the three words "for you", and pushed it in front of him along with the roses.
Xu Yanfeng tapped the touchpad with his fingertips to pause the playing video. He lowered his eyes to look at the note and the red thing in front of him, then turned to look at Xia Xi.
She held her chin with one hand, raised her eyebrows at him, and smiled.
Xu Yanfeng picked up his pen and asked her on the slip of paper: "What is this?"
He gave her the note.
When Xia Xi saw clearly what he wrote, the smile in her eyes disappeared instantly.
Those were roses! She'd picked them herself! He actually described them as a "lump"! That's unforgivable!
Xia Xi tore off another piece of paper and wrote on it angrily: Are you allergic to romance?
She slapped the paper onto Xu Yanfeng's hand, and with a "snap" sound, the back of his hand turned red.
Xu Yanfeng saw that she was angry, but he wasn't really angry, he was just pretending. He deliberately teased her and wrote below: I'm allergic to you.
Xia Xi became even angrier and glared at him with eyes that seemed to be spitting fire.
Don't think she can't do anything to him. She pulled the paper over and wrote a bunch of words on it.
Do you know how to fight allergies? There's a treatment called desensitization. Let me be your girlfriend, make me a habit, and over time you won't be allergic anymore!
Because talking loudly is prohibited in the library, the two of them played the game of passing notes like elementary school students, passing the notes back and forth, and it didn't feel childish at all.
After Xia Xi finished writing, he threw the note to Xu Yanfeng, and he really had nothing to say.
The game ends here.

The December calendar has turned over and the new year has arrived. After the New Year's Day holiday, everyone is busy reviewing and preparing for the upcoming final exams. Xia Xi also focused on preparing for the exam.
In the small group of three, Liang Yuan asked her when she would finish the exam.
Xia Xi looked through the exam schedule sent in the class group and replied that she would take the last exam on the 26th.
Liang Yuan: "OK, then I'll book a ticket for the 27th?"
In previous years, the three of them had always come to South City together at the start of the semester and returned to Ganlin together during the holidays, without exception. Xia Xi hadn't seen Xu Yanfeng much recently and wanted to contact him after the exams, but she was embarrassed to abandon Liang Yuan and Zhou Du, as it would seem she had forgotten her friends for the sake of a man.
After weighing the pros and cons, she finally agreed to Liang Yuan: "No problem."
Liang Yuan booked a ticket home and took a screenshot to send to the group. The three of them happened to be sitting in a row on the same side.
After finishing the last exam, Xia Xi didn't even have time to pack her suitcase. She rushed to Xu Yanfeng's dormitory building and randomly called a boy passing by downstairs and asked him to help tell Xu Yanfeng that she was waiting for him downstairs.
Xia Xi paced back and forth in the cold wind and waited for a few minutes. The boy came out and said that Xu Yanfeng was not in the dormitory.
Xia Xi's shoulders slumped in disappointment, and her figure seemed much thinner. When she came out of the exam room, she sent a message to Xu Yanfeng, asking where he was. He didn't reply. She thought she could catch him in the boys' dormitory, but she went there in vain.
She had seen Xu Yanfeng's exam schedule before. He had another exam tomorrow morning and was not supposed to leave school.
Xia Xi went to the cafeteria to eat, then went back to the dormitory to pack her things. She pushed her packed suitcase against the wall, glancing at her phone from time to time.
After she finished taking a shower and was about to lie down on the bed to rest, Xu Yanfeng's reply finally arrived.
Just two words: "At home."
Wei Ai XYF: "You have an exam tomorrow, why did you go home?"
Xu Yanfeng: "Something happened."
Xia Xi replied "Oh".
Xu Yanfeng asked her if she was okay.
Xia Xi said it was okay, she just wanted to have dinner with him. She would leave school tomorrow, and the next time she would see him would be when school started after the winter vacation.
Xu Yanfeng replied that he didn’t have time.
Xia Xi was used to it, so she put her cell phone in her pocket and went to the supermarket with her roommate. She also wanted to buy some food for the journey tomorrow.

The next day, Liang Yuan and Zhou Du came to meet Xia Xi. The three of them took a bus to the high-speed rail station together. They didn't have breakfast and had it at KFC.
At 8:47, they checked their tickets and entered the station. Liang Yuan sat by the window, Xia Xi sat in the middle, and Zhou Du sat next to the aisle.
