Xu Yanfeng was probably really afraid that Xia Xi would break into his dormitory, so he quickly replied: "I'll be there later."
Wei Ai XYF: "There's another question you didn't answer. Can we have dinner together tonight? [Sincere face]"
After a few seconds, Xu Yanfeng declined politely: "I have a dinner date tonight."
An alarm bell rang in Xia Xi's heart: "Who?"
Xu Yanfeng replied: "Roommate."
Xia Xi breathed a sigh of relief.
Liang Yuan leaned over and openly read the conversation between Xia Xi and Xu Yanfeng. He tutted and thought Xu Yanfeng was unromantic. "See? She rejected you."
Xia Xi said calmly: "So what?"
Liang Yuan: "Sister, are you doting on him too much?"
"You only saw him rejecting me, but you didn't see him explaining to me. He didn't mean to avoid dinner with me. He explained the reason. He and his roommate had dinner together that evening," Xia Xi emphasized. "He was explaining to me. He never used to explain himself. If he didn't want to, he would just say no, can't, or can't. He didn't say anything else. He explained to me, which shows that he cares about my feelings."
Liang Yuan rubbed his forehead, almost confused by her words, and his mind was filled with the word "explanation".

Xia Xi was the last one to arrive at the dormitory. The other three had already made their beds and were distributing local specialties to each other. There were several servings of food piled on Xia Xi's desk.
She took off her coat, rolled up her sleeves, and first took a basin of water to scrub the bed board that had not been slept on for a month. After it dried, she took out the mattress and bedding from the cabinet and spread them on the bed. Finally, she packed the things in the suitcase and distributed the specialties she brought to her roommates.
Wang Qiuyu glanced at the time: "It's past six o'clock, friends, where are we going to eat tonight?"
"The cafeteria just opened today. I don't know if the dishes are clean. How about we go out to eat?" Zhao Lei suggested.
Wu Qinglu: "I think it's okay."
Xia Xi also nodded.
Everyone agreed and had no objections, so they all took action, packed up, chatted and laughed, left the school, and took the bus to a Korean barbecue restaurant.
They ordered a set meal online in advance. Not long after they sat down, several plates of meat were served, as well as fish cakes, spicy fried rice cakes, seafood rice, seasonal vegetable cakes, and kelp and tofu soup, filling up all the empty space on the table.
They didn't ask the waiter to help with the grilling. Instead, they did it themselves, placing large chunks of beef, mutton and pork belly on the grill pan. Oil splashed everywhere and there was a sizzling sound. Soon, the air was filled with the aroma of barbecue.
Xia Xi ate rice cakes with stainless steel chopsticks while listening to them talk about interesting things during the holiday. When asked if anything funny happened, she smiled and said, "No, there was one funny thing, but there was one speechless thing."
"What?"
"Does it count as almost going on a blind date?"
Zhao Lei was choked: "Are you kidding me? You still need a blind date? Besides, we are still students. There is no need to be so anxious. Anyway, I still feel like a child."
Xia Xi shrugged: "My mother didn't say anything, it's my relatives who are more anxious."
Wu Qinglu whispered, "I thought I was the only one being introduced to someone, but I didn't expect Xixi to also..."
"What? You're on a blind date too?" Zhao Lei looked at Wu Qinglu with a surprised expression.
Wu Qinglu nodded. "He's the son of my mom's friend. He's three years older than me and works in North City. We met during the Lunar New Year holiday. We didn't explicitly say it was a blind date, but I felt it was something similar. My mom kept asking me how I was getting along with him, which was quite awkward."
Zhao Lei shuddered: "I can't even imagine it."
Wang Qiuyu asked Xia Xi: "Then how did you avoid it later?"
Speaking of this, Xia Xi couldn't help laughing: "I told them I had a boyfriend. They didn't believe me at first, until I took out Xu Yanfeng's photo, and finally shut them up."
"You are this." Zhao Lei gave her a thumbs up.
"You're not afraid of Xu Yanfeng finding out." Wang Qiuyu picked up the scissors and cut the roasted meat into small pieces, giving them to them. After thinking for a moment, she changed her words and said, "No, Xu Yanfeng won't know about this unless you tell him. Your relatives won't have the chance to see Xu Yanfeng, so there's no need to worry about being exposed."
Xia Xi picked up a piece of roasted pork belly, dipped it in some hot sauce, wrapped it in lettuce, stuffed it into her mouth, and shook her head at them.
Wang Qiuyu: "What do you mean?"
Xia Xi's cheeks twitched a few times, and he said vaguely, "I used him as a shield only after asking for Xu Yanfeng's consent. Even if he knew about it, it wouldn't matter. He was willing to do it."
The information revealed by these words was a bit unusual. Several people were stunned and looked at Xia Xi.
"I seem to be tasting a hint of sweetness. What's going on?" Zhao Lei pressed her fingers to her forehead, looking thoughtful. "Could it be...during the holiday, you and Xu Yanfeng made progress?"
Xia Xi was amused by her appearance. He took a sip of the tofu soup that was so delicious that it made his eyebrows fall out, and made a very short distance between his thumb and index finger. "There is a little progress. As for me, I came all the way to Nancheng to see him on New Year's Eve..."
She told the story of what had happened during this period, including their conversation. Several roommates listened with great interest and praised her repeatedly.
Zhao Lei couldn't help but applaud her after hearing this: "I used to think you were overthinking it, but I agree this time. Xu Yanfeng freaking loves you. He absolutely loves you. If he doesn't, I'll take my head off and use it as a bouquet for you."
Xia Xi frowned and let out a disgusted "ah", and goose bumps appeared on her skin: "Can you not be so bloody? We are still eating."
After finishing a plate of barbecued meat, Xia Xi picked up the tongs, picked up the beef tongue and put it on the grill, flipping it back and forth. Suddenly, her elbow knocked the chopsticks off. Xia Xi tilted her head and looked into the aisle, looking for the waiter, hoping that the waiter would bring her a new pair of chopsticks.
