Chapter 146 The Kiss Failed

After school, Xia Xi took her roommate and two childhood friends to meet up at a mid- to high-end Western restaurant. As soon as they sat down, the SF Express driver called her and said that a package had arrived for her.

Xia Xi told the young man to just put it in the guard room.

After hanging up the phone, her sister Xia Yue called her via video. Xia Xuan was next to her, and they both said "Happy Birthday" to her.

Xia Xi smiled brightly under the crystal chandelier: "Thank you."

Xia Yue said: "I bought you a bag, and I saw the logistics information showed it was being delivered."

Xia Xi nodded: "I just received a call from the courier. I will pick it up after I finish my meal and return to school."

Xia Xuan leaned closer to the screen and said, "I'll tell you a secret. I bought you a really expensive bag. I also contributed a portion of the money, so that bag is a gift from both me and her."

Xia Xi's smile brightened: "I know, you are the best."

Xia Yue gave the phone to Su Jinru and her grandmother. They said a few words to Xia Xi, then ended the call by saying they would not disturb her while she was eating.

Xia Xi put away her phone, still with a happy smile on her face, and looked at the other people in the box: "Have you ordered everything?"

"You're the only one missing." Zhou Du handed her the menu.

There was a card on the menu. Xia Xi picked it up and saw it was an annual pass for her favorite swimming pool, the Blue Whale. She glanced at Zhou Du, who took a sip of lemonade. "Even though I lost the bet, I can't have a birthday without a gift, so I'm giving it to you anyway."

Liang Yuan threw her a key and said, "The Giant I bought for you is parked in the carport in front of your dormitory. It's the third one from south to north."

Xia Xi held up the menu in her hand to cover her face. The two eyes that were exposed blinked a few times, and she sniffed like a dramatic spirit, moved to tears: "Oh my God, how can I be so happy."

"Stop talking nonsense and order the food." Zhou Du kicked her chair. Being sentimental didn't suit Xia Xi. She was just a silly, heartless girl.

There were six people at the table who had a pleasant dinner. When it came to cutting the cake, Xia Xi put on a colorful pointed hat, put her hands together, closed her eyes, and made a wish to the flickering candlelight.

She didn't believe that "speaking out wishes won't work," so she directly expressed her wish: "I hope I can catch up with Xu Yanfeng soon."

Everyone: “…”

Xia Xi paused, smiled deeply, and then said two more wishes: "I wish my family peace and happiness, and everything goes well. I wish my friends health and happiness, and hope they will become rich soon!"

"Haha, thanks for your good words. I'm looking forward to getting rich." Several people responded happily.

Zhou Du moved to the opposite side at some point and took a photo of Xia Xi with an entry-level SLR camera. He then called the waiter and took a group photo of everyone present.

Xia Xi picked up a knife to cut the cake and shared it with them. Someone smeared a ball of cream on her face, and a fight broke out in the box.

It was late at night. Xia Xi was carrying the unfinished cake back to school. She passed by the guard room, picked up the express delivery, took it back to the dormitory and opened it. The orange paper bag and packaging box caught her eye. She gasped. It was indeed a very expensive bag.

When everything was over, Xia Xi felt like something was missing. She took out her cell phone and received a photo sent by Zhou Du. She posted it on her Moments with some text.

Wei Ai XYF: "Everyone stop what you are doing and let's wish this minor a happy birthday!"

She posted four pictures in total: one was of the delicious food on the table, one was a close-up of the cake, one was a personal photo Zhou Du took of her when she made a wish, and the last one was a group photo taken by the waiter.

Xu Yanfeng shouldn't have blocked her updates, right?

What she lacked was his "Happy Birthday".

However, until she lay down on the bed and prepared to sleep, she received blessings from countless people, but not from Xu Yanfeng.

Xia Xi tossed and turned, shamelessly sending a private message to someone: "Today is my birthday!"
