The next day, Xu Yanfeng arrived earlier than expected. Just after half past eleven, Xia Xi came out of the library and was about to go to the cafeteria for lunch. When she received his call, she flapped her wings like a happy little bird to find him.
"Didn't you say you would pick me up in the afternoon?" Xia Xi rushed over and hugged the person who was waiting for her outside the car.
Xu Yanfeng put his hand on her waist: "The matter has been dealt with in advance."
There were only a few people passing by. Xia Xi looked around and saw that no one was looking at her, so she quickly kissed him on the lips. The first time was new, the second time was familiar, and she no longer needed to plan it in her mind. If she wanted to kiss him, she would just go for it.
"It's a reward for you." Xia Xi's big eyes were filled with smiles.
Xu Yanfeng kept his face as still as a mountain, patted her on the back and urged her to get in the car.
Xia Xi threw her backpack full of books and materials into the back seat, then sat in the passenger seat, fastened her seat belt, and said, "I haven't had lunch yet."
Xu Yanfeng started the engine, lightly stepped on the accelerator, and slowly drove out of the school: "I was planning to have lunch with you." Otherwise, why would he finish his work and rush over from the company? "What do you want to eat?"
This time Xia Xi didn't say casually. She searched for a Western restaurant on her phone and showed it to Xu Yanfeng: "Can we have Western food?"
"As you say."
Xu Yanfeng drove along the navigation route.
It was lunchtime and the restaurant was packed. Xu Yanfeng didn't want to queue, so he asked for a small private room, even though it was just him and Xia Xi.
Xia Xi imagined that the weekend would be a pleasant lunch with him and then a wonderful afternoon, but plans could not keep up with changes, and the pleasant lunch was ruined by her rash action.
She made Xu Yanfeng allergic.
It was a bit funny and sad. She didn't know that Xu Yanfeng was allergic to beef, so she thought the steak was delicious. She cut a piece and invited him to try it. He was also a very interesting person. If he was allergic, he could just say so. But he insisted that "beef stinks."
She had no idea what was really going on. She just thought he was picky about food, so she used her own method to deal with him. She held the steak in her mouth and put it into his mouth. After all, they were in a private box and no one else would see them.
She just loves playing these little lovers' tricks.
I don’t know if Xu Yanfeng was stupid or what, he swallowed the steak even though he knew he was allergic.
Xia Xi had just filled her stomach and hadn't even had time to drink a sip of juice when she suddenly realized that something was wrong with him. His face and neck were red, and there were a few rashes on the skin behind his ears. She reached over and rubbed it, and asked nervously, "What's wrong with you?"
Xu Yanfeng could already feel the itchiness on his skin. He hadn't eaten beef in a long time, so he thought it would be okay to have a bite. He overestimated his resistance to allergens.
"I think it might be... an allergy." He didn't want her to feel guilty, so he spoke calmly without any emotion, as if it was not a big deal.
"Allergic? How could I be allergic?" Xia Xi was shocked and stood up. The chair behind him moved with a "swish". "What are you allergic to?"
At this point, it was impossible to hide it, so Xu Yanfeng confessed the truth: "Beef."
"Awesome..." Xia Xi was stunned after saying just one word, with a dazed look on his face, and raised his hand to cover his mouth.
It was her fault. She shouldn't have been so willful and force-fed him steak.
Xu Yanfeng pulled her hand down and comforted her in return: "It's okay, just go back and take some medicine." In fact, the feeling of allergy was not very pleasant. The skin on her neck became more and more itchy, and even had a burning sensation.
"What are you waiting for? Let's go to the hospital now!"
Xia Xi hurriedly pulled him out and forgot to pay the bill. She almost became the person who ate and ran away without paying. It was not until the waiter chased her out of the elevator and reminded her that she reacted and hurriedly scanned the code.
Xu Yanfeng: "It's not that serious."
"Shut up." Xia Xi glared at him and started to criticize him. Can allergies be treated lightly?
Looking back on the times when I had dinner with him, he indeed didn’t eat beef, but he was considerate and would order some for others even if he didn’t eat it himself.
Xia Xi searched for nearby hospitals, but Xu Yanfeng stopped her: "Just take the medicine, there's really no need to go to the hospital."
She glanced at him sideways, and he gave her an affirmative look.
Xia Xi paused for a moment, looked around the shops along the street, found a big pharmacy, took him there, and bought oral medicine for treating allergies and external ointments.
There was a convenience store next door. Xia Xi went in and bought a bottle of mineral water. She unscrewed the cap, read the instructions for the medicine, took out a pill and put it in Xu Yanfeng's palm: "Take the medicine first."
Xu Yanfeng listened to her and put the pill in his mouth. Xia Xi handed him some water in time. He took two sips and swallowed the pill. "Okay, don't worry." He screwed the cap on the mineral water bottle and changed the subject. "Where do you want to go this afternoon?"
Seeing him in this state, Xia Xi no longer had the heart to play. She glanced at the red rash on his neck and felt guilty.
"It's my own problem, don't be like this." Xu Yanfeng pinched one of her cheeks and lifted it up, "Don't look so gloomy, smile."
Xia Xi couldn't laugh.
Xu Yanfeng thought for a while and tried to suggest: "How about taking you to the art museum? I remember there's an avant-garde art exhibition. It's closed this afternoon, and it's not difficult to buy tickets. Do you want to go and see it?"
Xia Xi shook her head: "Not interested."
Xu Yanfeng had no better plan, so he stood on the side of the road. The itchy neck made him irritated, and his facial expression gradually became dull, seeming very distant. But he was definitely not angry, he just didn't know what to do with her.
After a few seconds of stalemate, Xia Xi came over to coax him: "Why don't you go home and have a good rest. It's a good opportunity to go back and apply the topical medicine. A two-pronged approach will help you heal faster."
