Xu Yanfeng drove Xia Xi back to his apartment near the school.
This was Xia Xi's first time here. After entering, Xu Yanfeng found her a pair of unworn men's slippers: "Just make do with it."
She slipped into her wide slippers and trudged inside, taking a quick look around the living room. Compared to the private villa where he had held the party last time, this apartment was clearly where Xu Yanfeng often stayed, and it bore strong traces of his daily life.
A blanket folded into a square sat on a black, L-shaped leather sofa. A cup and financial magazines sat on the coffee table. Near the floor-to-ceiling window sat a short, three-seater sofa. Next to it were two pots of emerald green radish. Next to it was a simple bookshelf, strewn with dozens of books, mostly on finance and architecture. The double curtains had a translucent linen inner layer and a heavy blackout curtain on the outer layer, only one-third drawn.
Xu Yanfeng bent down and picked up the remote control on the coffee table, then opened all the curtains, allowing more light to filter in and clearly displaying the entire living room.
Xia Xi, however, did not appreciate it carefully. Instead, he turned his gaze to Xu Yanfeng and said urgingly, "Go take a shower quickly."
Xu Yanfeng's heart tightened and his face froze.
Seeing him frozen in place, Xia Xi took another serious look at his expression and immediately realized the ambiguity of what she had just said. She pressed her finger between her eyebrows and said, "Don't look at me like that. How can I apply the medicine without taking a shower?"
He really misunderstood her deeply!
In fact, you can't blame him for thinking too much. She was always teasing him when she was pursuing him, and she became even more unrestrained after she got him.
Xu Yanfeng's expression returned to normal as he pointed to the refrigerator and said, "There are fruits and drinks here, help yourself."
Xia Xi pretended to be calm: "I understand."
Xu Yanfeng entered the master bedroom, closed the door, found a set of clean clothes, and went to the bathroom to take a shower. The warm water poured over his itchy skin, providing some relief. Thinking of Xia Xi sitting outside, a strange feeling rose in his heart.
Xia Xi didn't hesitate and took a bottle of soda water from the refrigerator. He leaned against the bar and drank half of it. Then he returned to the living room and sat down on the sofa. He supported his body with his hands on both sides, and raised his legs together in boredom. The slippers on his feet were like boats, falling off from time to time.
Xu Yanfeng took a very slow shower. She didn't look at the specific time. She only knew that while waiting, she yawned three times, her eyes were sore and watery.
When Xia Xi yawned for the fourth time, he turned his head to look in the direction of the master bedroom. For some reason, a bad guess suddenly popped up in his mind. Could it be that Xu Yanfeng fainted while taking a shower?
Aren’t some people prone to suffocation and shock due to severe allergies?
The more she thought about it, the more uneasy she felt. Xia Xi no longer hesitated, stood up and walked towards the master bedroom. She grasped the door handle with one hand and pushed it down, then pushed the door open. The sound of water in the bathroom became clearer, and she quickly walked out the door.
The upper half of the door was frosted glass and was blurry. She leaned over it and looked inside, but did not see any swaying figure. Her heart suddenly jumped up, and she forgot to call Xu Yanfeng and pushed the door open and rushed in.
The sound of water suddenly stopped. Xu Yanfeng hurriedly pulled off the towel and wrapped it around his waist, looking towards the door in surprise. His face had never been so full of expression before: "Xia Xi?"
Xia Xi's head buzzed, as if something exploded inside. She quickly turned away, her face flushed, and her arms gestured wildly in the air: "I, I, I... I didn't see anything! I didn't mean to, uh... You haven't come out for too long, I thought something happened to you, I was worried about you, and came to check on you, who knows..."
Who knew that his bathroom was so big, and the shower cubicle was at the very back, making it difficult to see people through the door.
Xu Yanfeng's gaze fell on the two ears that were red as blood. The surprise on his face slowly faded away, turning into speechlessness.
After waiting for a moment, he saw that she didn't make the next move, and he was still naked from the waist up, completely covered by the water droplets hanging on the glass wall. He was really troubled and said aloud, "So, you're still staying here, are you planning to watch?"
"I'm leaving now, leaving now." Xia Xi's whole body was red, no exaggeration. She held her head with both hands and hurriedly left the bathroom. Her slippers were too big and did not fit her feet. She stumbled after taking a few steps.
Xu Yanfeng untied the towel from his waist and wiped himself when he suddenly heard a "thump" sound outside. He was startled and shouted towards the half-open door: "Xia Xi, did you fall?"
Xia Xi wanted to cry but had no tears. She replied weakly, "I didn't..."
She didn't fall down, she actually fell to her knees, banged her head on the ground, beat her chest and stamped her feet, regretting her actions. Now she couldn't wash herself away even if she jumped into the Yellow River. Xu Yanfeng must have thought she was a hooligan, pretending to be worried about him, but in fact she coveted his body and peeked at him taking a bath.
I swear to God, she really doesn't have such an idea!
Xu Yanfeng put on a shirt and trousers, walked out while drying his hair, opened the bathroom door and stopped by the door. Xia Xi was kneeling beside the sofa, burying her face in the pillow, her bent back trembling slightly.
Is this crying?
He didn't say anything to her, so it shouldn't be that serious.
Xu Yanfeng put the towel on his shoulders, walked over and patted her back: "What's wrong with you?"
Xia Xi was too embarrassed to see him, so she shook her head twice to show that she was fine.
The more she tried to hide it, the more worried Xu Yanfeng became. He ripped the towel off her shoulders and threw it onto the armrest of the sofa, digging out her head from deep within. She was forced to raise her face, a sad one, but without tears.
Xu Yanfeng breathed a sigh of relief. She wasn't crying. He tucked the hair from her face behind her ear, saying, "I was seen naked, and I didn't complain to you. Why are you still like this?"
The temperature on Xia Xi's face never dropped. It felt scorching hot to the touch. Her eyes were erratic and she refused to meet his gaze. "I said I didn't see it. It's the truth. I didn't lie to you."
