Liang Yuan observed Xia Xi's grim expression and exchanged glances with Zhou Du, still confused. He kept asking him, "What's wrong? What's wrong?"
Zhou Du said nothing and looked at Xia Xi.
When Xia Xi called, Xu Yanfeng didn't answer, so she sent a WeChat message instead. She was so anxious that her words were illogical and didn't get to the point. When people are anxious and angry, it's really hard to stay calm.
"Xu Yanfeng, why didn't you answer my call?"
"Could you please listen to what I have to say before sentencing me?"
"I don't deny the bet. If you feel uncomfortable about it, I apologize, but I don't think I'm wrong."
"Xu Yanfeng, answer the phone!"
"I like you, can't you feel it? Are you mad at me for this?"
The message sent fell on deaf ears, and Xu Yanfeng did not reply.
Xia Xi was so angry that she wanted to smash her phone. She dug her fingers into the roots of her hair and grabbed a handful of it randomly, not knowing whether to smooth it out or make it even more tangled. She bit her lip, not giving up, and continued to call him.
The result is the same, the "beep" sound continues until it stops automatically.
Xia Xi didn't intend to sit there and wait for death, so she hurriedly said goodbye to Liang Yuan and Zhou Du: "That's all for today. You two can just eat something and make an appointment next time. I'm leaving first." They had a good relationship with each other, so she didn't need to apologize. She just needed to explain, and they would understand.
Before Liang Yuan could say anything to persuade her to stay, Xia Xi took her bag and left the box and started running.
"Can anyone tell me what happened?" Liang Yuan grabbed Zhou Du's arm and called his name, like a conscript, "You tell me."
Zhou Du shrugged: "Do I look like I know the truth?"
Liang Yuan frowned, pondering for a long time, still fruitless. He muttered to himself, "Did they have a conflict? That shouldn't be the case. Xu Yanfeng showed up, and the two of them exchanged a few words outside the door before he left. Then Xixi shouted his name loudly, acting very nervous. Could it be... that the problem lies in those few words they exchanged?"
Liang Yuan scratched his head, but couldn't figure out the reason no matter how hard he tried.
In comparison, Zhou Du was much more relaxed: "Don't worry about it, eat first, and call Xia Xi later."
He didn't say anything, but he kept a note of Xu Yanfeng in his heart. He was worthy of being the young master of the Xu Group. He was really difficult to get along with. He had a terrible temper and it was unbearable for ordinary people.
What surprised him was Xia Xi. She seemed carefree and didn't care about anything, but in fact she was very sharp and angular. She was willing to bow her head in front of Xu Yanfeng, so naturally and willingly.
Zhou Du didn't want to get involved in matters of the heart. He believed in Xia Xi's abilities and believed she would handle them on her own. If she was bullied or wronged in other matters, he would definitely be the first to stand up for her.

Xia Xi guessed that Xu Yanfeng had come by car, so she took the elevator down to the underground parking lot and looked around, but couldn't find Xu Yanfeng's familiar Mercedes-Benz. He had already driven away.
She turned and entered the elevator, came out from the lobby on the first floor, hailed a taxi, and gave the address of Nanjing University.
In the car, she called and texted Xu Yanfeng over and over again.
The phone was hot, burning her palms and ears. What was the use? She didn't answer the calls or reply to the messages.
This is really Xu Yanfeng's usual style.
She loves and hates it.
Arriving at Nanjing University, Xia Xi paid the taxi fare and ran all the way to the male dormitory building where Xu Yanfeng lived. He wandered outside the gate, worrying about how to find Xu Yanfeng, when he ran into Chen Mian who had just returned from playing basketball with someone.
"Xia Xi." Chen Mian, holding a basketball under his arm, sweat dripping from his forehead and face, saw her first and took the initiative to greet her, "Why are you here?"
Xia Xi's eyes lit up, as if he had grabbed a life-saving straw: "Brother Chen, I can't find Xu Yanfeng. Can you please go up and tell him that I'm waiting for him downstairs and have something to say to him."
Chen Mian saw that she was very anxious, so he didn't ask any questions and agreed repeatedly: "Okay, okay, I'll go up and tell him right away."
To facilitate communication, Chen Mian added Xia Xi on WeChat. He never told her that they had actually chatted many times before. In the forum, he was the enthusiastic senior who repeatedly provided her with private information about Xu Yanfeng.
Before, I didn’t dare to say it because I was concerned about Xu Yanfeng’s authority, and later I didn’t find a suitable opportunity to say it.
Chen Mian climbed to the fifth floor, breathless with exhaustion. He pushed open the dormitory door to find Yu Tingbo and Fang Huaiyuan seated at their respective desks. The lighting inside wasn't enough, so they both turned on their desk lamps. The white light shone on the blueprints spread out on the desks, revealing the dense, crisscrossing lines and annotations that reflected the meticulous effort of the authors.
Chen Mian glanced at Xu Yanfeng's bed and desk, which were empty. Not giving up, he went to the balcony and bathroom to look for him, but there was no sign of him.
He was about to ask the other two if they knew where Xu Yanfeng had gone, but Yu Tingbo spoke first: "What are you looking for?"
Chen Mian: "Where's Xu Yanfeng?"
Yu Tingbo spread his hands: "Lao Fang and I have been in the dormitory, and I haven't seen him come back."
Fang Huaiyuan nodded.
Xia Xi was still waiting downstairs, and Chen Mian sent her a WeChat message saying, "Xu Yanfeng is not in the dormitory. He hasn't come back yet."
Xia Xi's reply came quickly: "I understand. Thank you, Brother Chen."
Chen Mian recalled the moment he had seen Xia Xi. She was quite anxious, her face pale from the wind, her eyes red, and she looked rather disheveled and pitiful. She had always appeared bright and full of energy in public, but it was rare to see her like this.
After pondering for a moment, Chen Mian tried to call Xu Yanfeng. After a long ring, the other party picked up and asked what was going on. Chen Mian's expression relaxed a little. Just being able to get through was good. "Where were you? Junior Xia Xi came to see you. Didn't she call you?"
