Chapter 180: Good-looking, love to watch more

Xia Xi returned home and, in order to pass the vacation time, signed up for several online courses in architecture taught by famous teachers.

The two-meter-wide desk was piled high with blueprints, triangles, rulers, pencils, and erasers. As she was drawing, Xia Xuan came over to bring her some fruit. She glanced down at the clean, straight lines on the paper, her eyes filled with admiration. "Take a break."

Xia Xi dropped the pencil in her hand, stretched her neck, twisted it left and right, took the fork handed to her by her sister, and stabbed the watermelon in the glass bowl: "Didn't you go to painting class this afternoon?"

Xia Xuan didn't leave. She was lying on the lazy sofa in her room reading comics: "I'm taking a break today."

Xia Xi nodded, picked up the phone on the table, and took advantage of the break to harass Xu Yanfeng: "What are you doing?"

She had been staying at home for more than half a month. Just as Xu Yanfeng said before leaving, they kept in touch every day and occasionally had video calls. Today was almost over, and they hadn't said a word to each other.

A minute later, Xu Yanfeng came back: "I'm here to socialize with my elders."

Xia Xi narrowed her eyes and imagined that he must be dressed formally, in a dark suit and trousers, with a circle of snow-white shirt showing at the cuffs, and a low-key but expensive watch on his wrist. His every move was elegant and steady, and he had a temperament between a teenager and a mature man.

She ate sweet watermelon, sat sideways on a chair, her legs dangling from the armrests, smiled, and made a random request: "Take a picture of your hand for me."

Xu Yanfeng didn't understand and asked a question.

Xia Xi gave specific instructions: "It's very simple. Just lift your index finger slightly, bend the other fingers slightly, and take a picture of your hand. That's it."

Xu Yanfeng still didn't understand, but since she asked, he did it.

After a while, the photo was sent to Xia Xi's mobile phone, and she clicked it to appreciate it.

Xia Xuan looked over Xia Xi's shoulder, staring at the phone screen she held up. She smacked her lips and said, "Where did you find this online picture? It's even more amazing than the close-ups of the male protagonist's hands in the comics I read."

Xia Xi was startled. She covered her chest with her phone, moved her legs off the armrest of the chair, sat up straight and glared at her: "Who are you trying to scare to death?"

Xia Xuan chuckled and showed her the comic book in her hand. There was a close-up of the male protagonist's hand in one frame. The lines were sharp and smooth, and he looked very slender and bony. It was slightly inferior to the one on Xia Xi's phone.

Xia Xi pointed her index finger at her sister's forehead and gently pushed it away: "Go read your comics."

Xia Xuan covered her forehead, muttered "stingy", and slid back to the lazy sofa in her slippers.

Xia Xi lifted the phone pressed against her chest. A new message came in. Xu Yanfeng asked her, "Tell me the truth, what are you doing?"

Xia Xi didn't tell him that doing this gesture would make the muscles on the back of the hand more prominent, making it particularly sexy and a bit erotic. She replied casually: "No, it's not a trick. Just look at your hand."

Xu Yanfeng suddenly guessed something, not sure if it was correct: "Are you a hand control?"

He even knows about hand control. Xia Xi chuckled and glanced at Xia Xuan, who was almost buried in the sofa. The comic book blocked her palm-sized face. She looked absorbed in it, seemingly oblivious to the movement on her side. Xia Xi felt relieved and sent a voice message to Xu Yanfeng. Her voice was very low, as if whispering in his ear: "I'm not a hand control, I'm a Xu Yanfeng control. I like everything about Xu Yanfeng."

Xu Yanfeng didn't reply to her.

Xia Xi pulled a pillow to cover her face and giggled. He must be embarrassed.

She pulled the pillow down, held it in her arms, placed her hands on it, and sent him another message with her phone: "Baby, send me a selfie of yourself. I want to see you."

Xu Yanfeng replied this time: "I'll video chat with you when I get back."

Xia Xi was unreasonable: "I just want your photo, will you give it to me?"

Xu Yanfeng didn't reply again.

After waiting for a while, Xia Xi lost her patience and put down her phone to continue drawing. Suddenly, she received a message reminder. She looked closely and saw that it was Xu Yanfeng who sent her a photo.

It was not a close-up selfie, but a photo taken facing the floor-to-ceiling window. The lights in the high-rise buildings outside the window were spread out like glowing fish scales. His shadow was reflected on the clear glass, with a clear and upright outline. It could be seen that he was wearing the suit and shirt she imagined, with a neatly tied tie.

Xia Xi's heart was beating so fast that her fingertips were numb as she typed: "If you like it, please share more."

Xu Yanfeng sent her a string of silent ellipsis, which made her laugh repeatedly.

I miss him so much.

*

July 21st was the sixth day of the sixth lunar month, a good day for marriages. Peishan Hotel hosted a large wedding banquet. The groom had booked more than 40 tables, and the entire hotel was bustling with activity.

Xia Xi went over to help.

Su Jinru had asked her to work in the restaurant as a joke before, and she didn't want to let her work too hard. Today, she was really too busy, so she asked her to come.

Xia Xi arrived at the perfect time. One of the bridesmaids had something urgent to do and couldn't come, so the bride begged her to come to the rescue and make the number even for better luck.

It was just a piece of cake, so Xia Xi didn't refuse. She changed into the smoky pink gauze dress prepared by the bride in advance and attended the entire wedding banquet with the other bridesmaids.

It was around two in the afternoon when the event finally came to an end. Xia Xi received a gift and a red envelope. He was so exhausted that he didn't even change his clothes. He sat in the lobby and ate the staff meal with other hotel employees.

The staff meal wasn't just leftovers; it used ingredients leftover from wedding banquets, freshly cooked by the chefs. The food was piping hot and fragrant. The staff sat around a few tables, relaxing after a busy day, enjoying a few drinks and chatting while eating.

The weather was too hot. Even with the air conditioner on, sweat still seeped out of her neck, sticking to her soft hair, which was very irritating. Xia Xi couldn't find a rubber band, so she used a pair of chopsticks to tie up her long hair and buried her head in her meal.
