Xia Xi didn't reveal: "Wait for notification."
Huang Shiyu suddenly became nervous, thinking that he had failed.
In front of the others, Xia Xi suppressed her laughter, brushed past her shoulder and returned to the office. Just as she sat down, before she had time to drink a sip of water, there was a knock on the door: "Mr. Xia, someone is looking for you at the front desk."
Xia Xi was surprised. Who would come to the company to see her on her first day at work?
She sat still and asked the messenger, "Did the other party say who it was?"
The man shook his head and described the visitors he had seen to her, perhaps she would understand: "It was a foreign couple, about seventy years old."
"Foreigner?"
Xia Xi frowned slightly, unable to guess who the visitor was, but what she was certain of was that the other person was someone she knew abroad.
But she searched all the memories in her mind and couldn't find anyone who matched the name, so she could only go and take a look.
Xia Xi went to the front desk, full of doubts. Sure enough, they were an elderly couple with graying hair, wearing matching white silk shirts and dark blue vests. The older man, wearing glasses and carrying a black backpack, was gesturing with the receptionist, speaking English mixed with a few broken Chinese words.
The receptionist saw Xia Xi and acted as if he had seen a rescuer: "Mr. Xia, they are here to look for you." Then, turning to the two elderly people, he said in English, "Xia Xi, the one you are looking for, is here."
The couple looked at Xia Xi at the same time, their eyes becoming eager.
Xia Xi felt that they looked a little familiar, but she couldn't remember where she had seen them. As she was thinking about it, the old lady rushed over, grabbed her hand, and said a lot of chatter.
