Xia Xi stretched out her hand: "Give me the phone."
Xia Xuan leaned over, picked up the ringing phone, and handed it to Xia Xi. A bad feeling suddenly struck her, and she clutched her chest. Aunt Lin worked at the restaurant, and it was supposed to be lunchtime, so why would she call at this hour?
Xia Xi saw Xia Xuan's movements and asked nervously, "Are you feeling unwell?"
Xia Xuan lowered her hand and grasped the corner of the pillow. Her heart had been aching for a long time, but she didn't want to cause trouble for her family at this critical moment. She shook her head and said, "I'm fine."
"If you feel uncomfortable, be sure to tell me." Xia Xi reminded him and answered the phone. "Auntie Lin, this is Xia Xi. What do you want to talk to my mother about?"
Aunt Lin didn't ask how Su Jinru ended up with her phone. She should be studying in South City. She said in a panic, "A lot of people came to the hotel. The man in the lead said that the owner of the Peishan Hotel has changed, and he's the boss now. Xixi, what's going on?"
"How is that possible?" Xia Xi felt it was absurd. "Are you here to cause trouble? Did you call the police?"
Grandma, Su Jinru, and Xia Xuan looked at Xia Xi at the same time, and judging from her expression and tone, something bad had happened at the hotel.
Aunt Lin said on the phone, "He doesn't seem like a troublemaker. The man was polite and even ordered a table full of food. Besides, there are so many customers in the restaurant, calling the police would only affect business. Why don't you ask your mother to come over and see if there's any misunderstanding?"
Xia Xi lowered his eyes to glance at Su Jinru, and agreed first: "Okay, I understand, I'll be there right away."
After hanging up the phone, Su Jinru held her hand, her red eyes full of anxiety: "What happened?"
Xia Xi was just thinking about how to hide it, fearing that she would be stimulated again, when her grandmother said, "Just tell me directly."
"Aunt Lin said a man brought a group of people to the hotel, claiming that the Pei Shan Hotel had changed owners and was now his." Xia Xi repeated the story, still finding it incredible. How could such a thing happen? It was too outrageous, so outrageous that it was almost ridiculous. But Aunt Lin spoke so seriously that it forced people to take it seriously. "You two stay home. I'll go over and see what's going on."
Grandma was stunned.
Peishan Hotel is the fruit of her life's work and her lifeblood. She can persuade herself to accept, digest and forget other things, but she will not be careless in the slightest about anything related to the hotel.
Grandma stood up by holding the armrest of the sofa, her body still trembling a little: "I'll go with you."
