The man on the other end of the phone said, "She has long, curly black hair and very fair skin. As for her looks, I don't know how to describe them, but she's quite beautiful. A very striking beauty. She's tall and has a great figure."
Every feature can be matched with Xia Xi.
It was indeed her.
Like a stone dropped into the sea, the chaotic mood suddenly calmed down. Ling Yan closed her eyes and said word by word, "Continue to help me keep an eye on Xu Yanfeng. Report to me immediately if anything happens."
The man agreed readily: "No problem."
Before hanging up, Ling Yan was worried and reminded him, "Xu Yanfeng is very vigilant. Don't let him find you when you're following him."
Given Xu Yanfeng's temperament, if he knew she had someone spying on him, he would definitely be disgusted with her. She had to be careful.
The man on the phone assured her solemnly: "Don't worry, Miss Ling, we are all professionals."
After hanging up the phone, Lingyan no longer had the mood to go downstairs to eat. She leaned against the wall, tilted her head back and smiled silently. As she smiled, a sour feeling welled up in her eyes.
God really plays tricks on people.
Xia Xi hadn't come back earlier or later, but at this time. If Xia Xi hadn't appeared, even if Xu Yanfeng didn't like her, he would have married her under family pressure. Over time, she was confident that she would eventually enter his heart.
What if the worst result is that Xia Xi’s child is Xu Yanfeng’s, what should she do then?
Xu Yanfeng had always had a special affection for Xia Xi. Even after being betrayed and hurt by her, he was still completely captivated by her upon seeing her again. If Xia Xi had given birth to two children for him after she left, with the children as a bond, he and Xia Xi would have been destined to be entangled for life.
What should she do then?

After returning home, Xia Xi cooked in the kitchen with Su Jinru. The two children had already eaten and were playing puzzles in the living room.
Grandma caught a cold from the air conditioning in the afternoon and was lying in her room. After the meal was ready, Xia Xi brought it to her room, watched her finish eating, helped her pick out several kinds of medicine she needed to take, put them in a small plastic box, and told her to take them in half an hour.
This is what happens when you get older. If you don’t pay attention, you will get a headache or fever.
After dinner, Xia Xi urged Ziheng and Youyou to take a bath. The two little guys could bathe themselves now, but they were young and couldn't wash cleanly, so Xia Xi helped them bathe every few days.
She washed Youyou first, carried her to the crib, and then went to wash Ziheng.
Unlike Youyou, who always put a bunch of fancy toys in the tub when taking a bath, playing with them while washing, her little mouth chattering non-stop, Ziheng obediently lathered shampoo on his head while Xia Xi rubbed his back.
He was ticklish and giggled with his neck shrunk.
Xia Xi asked him, "Are you getting used to the new kindergarten? How are you getting along with the other kids?"
Ziheng styled his hair into a spiky style and spoke coherently, "It's nothing unusual. The kids in my class all like me. However, they always gather around my desk during recess, chattering all the time. It's a bit annoying."
Xia Xi burst out laughing and pushed him on the forehead: "You are such a smart kid."
"Mom." Ziheng was playing with the foam in the bathtub, his long eyelashes drooping, and he looked thoughtful, which didn't seem to be in line with his age.
"Um?"
Xia Xi got up, turned on the shower, adjusted the water temperature, carried Ziheng out of the bathtub, and rinsed off the foam on his hair and body.
"What's wrong? Do you need anything from mom?" Xia Xi pulled off a large bath towel and wiped his body.
Ziheng grabbed a corner of the towel, wiped the water droplets from his eyelids, opened his eyes, licked his lips, and said in a somewhat conflicted tone: "I told you not to be angry."
Xia Xi was stunned for a moment, then smiled and said, "When have I ever been angry with you?"
Ziheng tilted his head and thought for a while. His mother had indeed never been angry with him. On the contrary, he would occasionally throw a tantrum, but his mother did not blame him. Instead, she coaxed him gently and reasoned with him.
"The uncle I met in the mall today, is he, is he my father?" Ziheng asked cautiously, and then looked at his mother's face, afraid that she would be unhappy.
Xia Xi paused in wiping his hair. The towel was wrapped around his head, revealing only his small, pale, tender face. His eyes were clear, tentative, and uneasy. Unlike adults, who are good at hiding their emotions, children's thoughts can be seen at a glance.
When Ziheng was just born, he looked very similar to Xu Yanfeng. But as he grew older and his facial features developed, they no longer looked alike.
The first time he had the concept of "Dad" was when he was over three years old. After coming back from playing at his neighbor's house, he asked her seriously, "Other children have dads, but where is his dad?"
Xia Xi didn't lie to him and say he didn't have a father, or that his father had gone far away and would come back when he grew up. She squatted down to look him in the eye and patiently explained that because of something that had happened, she and her father had separated and were no longer together, so only her mother was taking care of him and Youyou.
Until now, Ziheng has never mentioned "Dad" again.
She was very surprised. Why did Ziheng think Xu Yanfeng was his father? Was it a magical connection between father and son?
Xia Xi silently put his pajamas on and dried his hair with a hairdryer. During this process, she was also sorting out her thoughts and thinking about how to explain it to Ziheng.
She sat on a low stool, held Ziheng in her arms, and first asked about the point that confused her: "Why does Ziheng think that the uncle he met at the mall is his father?"
"Isn't it?" Ziheng lowered his head. "I've seen him in the photo album on my mom's phone."
