Chapter 254 I Hate Him

Xia Yue's heart tightened when she heard the crying. She was anxious to comfort the child and said incoherently, "I was wrong. I'm sorry. Can you please forgive me, Youyou?"

"You're lying!" Youyou's voice was hoarse as she burrowed into the blanket.

She is just young, not stupid, and not that easy to fool.

She heard it clearly at the door. What Xiaoyue said was: Although I am her mother, she would rather stay with you, Xixi, at the moment.

The words "I am her mother" floated in her mind and were firmly remembered.

Xia Yue is her mother, not Xia Xi.

Thinking of this, Youyou cried even harder: "Wow, why am I not my mother's child? I don't want to be someone else's child... I want to be with my mother and Ziheng forever."

Xia Yue knelt on the ground, tears falling like beads from a broken string. She looked at Xia Xi helplessly, supporting herself on the ground with her injured hand. Over time, blood oozed from the wound, staining the white gauze red.

Xia Xi's eyes also became wet. Obviously, no matter what was said, Youyou was convinced that what she heard was true, and this trick of coaxing her would not work.

Su Jinru felt helpless and sad, and coaxed softly, "Youyou, come out first, don't get bored."

Youyou ignored everyone, hid in the innermost part, curled up into a small ball, and cried non-stop.

Several people took turns to comfort her, but it didn't work.

Ziheng was also at a loss. In the past, people could listen to him when he spoke slowly, but now nothing he said was working.

Xia Xi wiped the corners of her eyes and stopped insisting on persuading Youyou to come out. She tried to comfort her from another angle: "Youyou, Mom knows you are a sensible and good child. When you were very young, Mom taught you not to lie, so Mom doesn't want to lie to you-"

Youyou slowly stopped crying and pricked up her ears to listen to her.

Xia Xi looked at Xia Yue, whose tears could not stop flowing, and stroked her shoulder. She continued, "You are indeed Xiao Yue's child. She had a very hard time carrying you. For ten whole months, she worried every day about whether you were growing well in her belly and whether you were getting enough nutrition. Ten months later, she went to the hospital and risked her life to give birth to you. She thought you were the cutest little girl in the world, the best gift God had given her, and she was determined to raise you beautifully. However, she later did something wrong and was taken away by the police for reflection, so she couldn't take care of you personally. She was worried about you, what if a bad person bullied you? You are her baby, and she won't allow anyone to hurt you, so she had no choice but to leave you in my care. She was worried that when you grew up, you would ask where your mother was, and feel different from other children and be sad, so she asked me to be your mother temporarily. She did this because she wanted you to grow up healthy and happy. Do you understand?"

Youyou had heard Xia Xi talk about how a child came out of her mother's belly once before. She had felt so distressed then, and hearing it again, she felt so distressed again. She had lived in Xiaoyue's belly for ten months before she gave birth to her.

"Although you are not my child, we will always be a family. This will never change," Xia Xi said. "We live together now and will live together in the future. It makes no difference whether you are my child or not. We are a family and share the same blood."

Youyou finally showed her face from under the blanket, her mouth still pouting and her face covered with tear marks. She stretched out her arms for Xia Xi to hug her.

Xia Xi tried to get into the tent, hug her and carry her out.

Su Jinru turned her back and wiped her tears. She went to the bathroom, wrung out a towel, and wiped Youyou's face. She scratched her nose lovingly, "Your mother is right. Think about it, I'm still your grandmother, right? Ziheng is still your brother. You have a mother who loves you, and we are still the same as before. Nothing has changed."

Xia Yue didn't dare to go forward, for fear of upsetting the child again, and stood awkwardly aside.

Youyou hadn't quite recovered from her emotions yet, occasionally shrugging her shoulders and sniffling. She'd cried so hard after all. She stole a glance at Xia Yue, pursed her lips, and, unsure how to talk to her, buried her face in Xia Xi's chest.

Xia Xi turned to look at Xia Yue, who shook her head to indicate that she was fine.

Youyou whispered in Xia Xi's arms, "Can I still call you mom in the future?"

"Of course. I'm your mother, Xiaoyue is your mother too, and we all love you very much." Xia Xi pulled Ziheng over and held him in her arms. "You and Ziheng are both my good children."

Ziheng's face was downcast, his emotions were mixed. Today was truly a magical day. He and his sister didn't even have the same mother...

Youyou was tired, her eyelids blinked slowly a few times, and she fell asleep leaning against Xia Xi.

Xia Xi put her on the crib, wet a towel and wiped her hands and feet, letting her sleep peacefully. Then she sent a message to Xu Yanfeng: "The child is not very emotionally stable. We'll talk about it in a few days."

She didn't specify which child it was, because she wanted to wait until Youyou's mood improved before fulfilling her promise to Xu Yanfeng.

Xu Yanfeng: "As long as you don't default on your debt."

Xia Xi just wanted to inform him, and after reading his reply, she didn't reply again.

Just as she was about to put her phone aside, Xu Yanfeng sent her a message: "Does he know I'm his father?"

Ziheng had known this a long time ago. He was a clever child, and based on the adults' reactions and the encrypted photo album he'd found on her phone, he'd guessed it. He'd then gone to her for confirmation, but she didn't want to deceive him and gave him an ambiguous answer, which only made him more certain.

Xia Xi didn't tell Xu Yanfeng the details, and only replied with two simple words: "I know."

Xu Yanfeng paused for a few seconds, then sent a voice message asking, "What did he say?"

Pressing the voice bar with her fingertips, Xia Xi raised the phone to her ear. The low voice tickled her earlobes. She took the phone down, rubbed her ears, and typed a few words: "Nothing."
