Chapter 257 Are you sure your son has no mental problems?

Xu Yanfeng currently lives a half-hour drive from the kindergarten where Li Ziheng attends, assuming the traffic is not congested.

As the car pulled into the parking lot, Xu Yanfeng found a new topic to talk to his son about: "Do you think our home is a bit far from the kindergarten? If you don't get enough sleep in the morning, we can move to another house."

Ziheng once again ignored Xu Yanfeng, holding his dark blue backpack, and got off the car from the other side.

The milk tea I bought for him was left unopened on the table, and he hadn't eaten the snacks in the bag. Xu Yanfeng sighed silently, pressed the elevator button, and turned back to hold Ziheng's hand.

Ziheng avoided him and walked into the elevator first.

Xu Yanfeng's hand found nothing, and he bent his fingers. After entering the elevator, he pressed the floor button: "We live on the 26th floor, remember?"

Used to being ignored, Xu Yanfeng didn't expect him to respond and put his hands in his pockets.

The elevator stopped at the 26th floor and the father and son went out one after another.

The large flat of more than 200 square meters has an extremely broad view. Looking out through the floor-to-ceiling glass windows, you can see rows of buildings, shrouded in the golden sunset, which is as magical as an anime.

Xu Yanfeng first led Ziheng to his room. Pushing open a frosted black door, he discovered a spacious, coolly decorated space. There was a suspended, luminous globe that rotated constantly. Rows of acrylic display racks held complete sets of Ultraman, Transformers, car models, and airplane models.

Even the floor lamp is shaped like a scepter from a science fiction animation.

Two fences were added to the big blue bed, and small dolls from the current popular cartoons were hung on the fences.

"How is it?" Xu Yanfeng placed one hand on Ziheng's head, bent down, and stared at his little face. "Do you like it?"

Ziheng turned his head to free it from his palm, walked to the desk, pulled out a chair and sat down, put his schoolbag on his legs, unzipped it, took out a book from it, opened it and read.

Xu Yanfeng leaned over curiously, thinking the book he was reading was the one distributed by the school today, but he found it was a thick original English book. Xu Yanfeng glanced at a few lines and found it was an adventure novel.

Ziheng had been abroad for several years, so reading English should not be difficult for him. He turned the page quickly.

Xu Yanfeng raised his eyebrows. He also liked reading this kind of books when he was a child.

This kid didn't inherit his looks, but his interests and hobbies were the same as his as a child, and his personality was... a bit similar. Xu Yanfeng didn't admit that he was a taciturn person as a child, so he only said that this kid was "a bit like" him.

Xu Yanfeng felt much more relaxed, his brows relaxed. He knocked on the back of the chair and talked to his son: "I won't disturb you reading. Call me if you need anything. If you are hungry, eat something first and wait for mom to come back before dinner."

Xu Yanfeng brought the snacks up and placed them on the sofa.

After saying that, he really didn't bother Ziheng anymore. He turned around and went out, closing the door, leaving a gap so that he could hear any movement inside in time.

Xu Yanfeng took off his coat and untied his tie, then sat on the sofa in the lounge area, arms spread out by his sides, head tilted back, neck resting on the backrest, a look of complete relaxation. He closed his eyes, imagining Xia Xi's return and the three of them living here together, his lips curled up slightly.

He raised his hand to check his watch. Xia Xi should have finished get off work. He took out his phone and sent her a WeChat message: "Are you done?"

Xia Xi: "Working overtime."

Xu Yanfeng fluttered his eyelashes twice and leaned closer to look at the two words.

She was really confident in leaving the child to him, and was not afraid that the child would not adapt and cause trouble.

Xu Yanfeng suppressed the faint smile on his lips, poked the screen with his fingertips, typed a line of words, paused, deleted everything, and replaced it with a few simple words: "How long will it take?"

Xia Xi didn't give a precise answer: "It will take a while."

Xu Yanfeng took a deep breath. He was not angry. What was there for him to be angry about? Her agreement to move in meant half of the success. If the remaining half was completed today, it would be a fantasy drama.

Xu Yanfeng chatted with her: "Are you sure your son doesn't have any mental problems? He's always silent, and I suspect he might be a little autistic."

Xia Xi: "Even if you are autistic, he can't be autistic."

Xu Yanfeng threw down his phone and pressed his eyebrows. As she said, he was really going to shut himself in.

*

Xia Xi didn't lie to Xu Yanfeng. When she said "a while", she meant a while. After chatting with Xu Yanfeng for a few words, she continued with the work at hand. Twenty minutes passed and she turned off the computer.

She went to the printer first, took out a stack of papers that had just come out, bound them into a folder, and stuffed them into her tote bag.

Met Lu Mingji in front of the elevator.

He glanced at Xia Xi sideways: "Why are you busy so late?"

"Is it late?" The elevator arrived, and Xia Xi checked her watch as she walked in. "Not too late, just a little later than the normal working hours. In our industry, isn't overtime commonplace? Look how surprised you are. You've been a boss for so long that you don't even know what normal working hours are."

Lu Mingji felt like he was being criticized, so he touched his nose and stood beside her.

As the elevator went down, she felt a little dizzy. Lu Mingji looked at her for a few times and wanted to ask her how her conversation with Xu Yanfeng went, but he didn't know how to start the conversation. He didn't ask until the elevator reached the basement floor.

The two cars were parked very close to each other, with only a parking space between them. The other car had already been driven away.

"Bye." Xia Xi waved her hand, the car lights came on, and she leaned down to sit in the driver's seat.

Lu Mingji somehow noticed the suitcase and handbag in the back seat of her car. He was stunned for a moment, then walked over and knocked on the car window.

Xia Xi had just started the car when she heard a noise beside her. She lowered the window and tilted her head slightly to look at him: "Anything else?"
