The two children felt sleepy after eating and dozed off on the sofa. Zhou Du asked them to sleep on the bed, but they said the sofa was very comfortable.
The sofa in the living room was made of brushed material and consisted of two 1.8-meter-long sofas, which was more than enough for two kindergarten children to sleep on. Zhou Du followed their lead and went to the bedroom to get two quilts to cover them.
"Brother Du."
The assistant called out in a low voice and waved to him.
"When you wake up, godfather will play with you." Zhou Du touched the two children's heads, stood up and walked towards the assistant.
"What's the matter?" Zhou Du yawned, looking like he hadn't gotten enough sleep.
The assistant showed him a memo on his iPad: "There's a live broadcast at 3:00 this afternoon. Don't forget it. From 3:00 to 5:00, two hours."
Zhou Du's sleepy eyes suddenly widened, staring blankly at his assistant, completely oblivious to the incident. "Live broadcast? What live broadcast? Are you sure it's today? Why don't I remember it?"
"Today is Saturday, the chat room. You announced it in advance on Weibo."
The assistant held the iPad in one hand, clicked on Zhou Du's personal Weibo homepage, and scrolled down. Before he found the Weibo post, Zhou Du remembered that it was posted last week.
"Chatting, huh? I'm OK with that."
"There's also a raffle. Last time, you asked your fans how they wanted to draw the prizes, and a lot of people gave me suggestions. I've privately counted them. I'll randomly take screenshots of your live stream later and randomly draw one from the comments I captured. I'll do this until we have 100 prizes. I've compiled a list of the prizes and will send it to you later. They're all gift boxes sent by PR. I've saved one for you, and the extra ones are for gifts."
"Okay, I understand."
Zhou Du waved his hand, and he didn't need to say anything more.
It was almost three o'clock when the two children woke up. Zhou Du said goodbye to them and started live streaming in front of the floor-to-ceiling window next to the living room. The curtains behind him were drawn and two pots of green plants were placed as decoration.
He started the live broadcast in advance, with his chin propped up, waiting for people to come in.
He washed his hair and simply applied some foundation to his face to hide his dark circles and even out his skin tone. He looked handsome enough without any extra decoration. Zhou Du skillfully greeted the fans who kept pouring in, and started a conversation when more people gathered.
After an hour of broadcasting, Zhou Du drew more than fifty prizes and stopped to drink some soda water.
"Godfather, I can't open this yogurt." Youyou came over with two bottles of yogurt, "My brother can't open it either."
"Give it to me." Zhou Du beckoned, and calmly moved the live broadcast equipment to the side a few inches to avoid filming Youyou. He unscrewed the lid of the yogurt one by one and handed it to Youyou, "Drink it."
"Thank you, godfather." The little girl ran away, skipping and knelt on the furry carpet. She gave one of the bottles of yogurt to Ziheng and took a big gulp herself.
Zhou Du looked at the two of them, with a smile on his face.
When he returned to the live broadcast, he realized something was wrong. The comments were scrolling much faster than before. He squinted and looked closer at the screen, trying to make out what the fans were saying.
"Zhou Du, you have a child?"
"Are you a father?"
"Didn't you say you were single? Didn't you say you weren't married?"
"Holy crap, a building collapse scene?"
Zhou Du held his forehead, looking a little helpless, and then responded openly: "No, it's understandable for one person to have no hearing, but it's outrageous for so many people to have no hearing. The child clearly calls me godfather, godfather OK? I'm really single, I've been a virgin since birth, don't spread rumors about me!"
"Hahahaha, the fastest rumor debunking in history."
"I was saying I thought I heard a little girl calling out 'Dad', but it wasn't the word 'father', it turned out to be 'godfather'."
"Zhou Du Zhou Du, are you straight?"
Zhou Du read out this comment, his eyes darkened, and he slid his chair back a distance, clasping his hands in front of him with a speechless expression: "I'll say it again, I, Zhou Du, am 24K straight."
Before Zhou Du finished his live broadcast, this segment was recorded by fans and posted, and quickly became a hot topic.
