Xu Yanfeng's action was too sudden. Xia Xi was so shocked that she didn't come back to her senses for a long time. She didn't hear what he said. It was as if her brain had gone on strike, and everything was blank.

Xia Xi pursed her lips, and there seemed to be residual warmth on her lips, reminding her that what had just happened was real.
"You what? Me what?" Xu Yanfeng raised his eyebrows and chuckled, looking nonchalant, without any guilt for kissing someone secretly.

Xu Yanfeng coughed and spoke for him: "Ziheng is also worried about you. He wants to see with his own eyes that you are okay before he can feel at ease."

Xia Xi felt heartbroken after hearing this and whispered to Zi Heng, "It's still early, go back to sleep for a while."
Ziheng returned to the accompanying bed and lay down, but he couldn't sleep much.

The little guy was so sleepy that he thought it was the big bed at home. He rolled over and fell off the accompanying bed. Xu Yanfeng picked him up and asked, "Are you okay?"
Ziheng shook his head and yawned.
Seeing that he looked like he was still half asleep, Xu Yanfeng placed one hand on his waist and the other on his head. "I think you should just take a day off from school today. Kindergarten's workload isn't too heavy, so missing a day won't be a big deal."
Ziheng raised his eyelids but said nothing, with an expression that said, "Do you want to hear what you are saying?"
Xu Yanfeng said: "Shall I call your teacher now?"
Ziheng took Xu Yanfeng's hand off his head, said "No", and ran to the bathroom to wash up.
Xu Yanfeng turned around and saw Xia Xi had woken up. She was holding onto the edge of the bed and trying to sit up. He frowned and made a soft "tsk" sound. He quickly walked over and raised her bed, and lectured her: "Why didn't you call me when you needed me? Why are you messing around like that?"
"I think I can do it." Xia Xi put a pillow behind her back and leaned softly on it.
"You can do whatever you want, but don't be so stubborn."

From the moment Xu Yanfeng said he wanted to change, Xia Xi noticed that he really started talking more. Compared to before, it was a "drastic" change. He used to be very frugal with words, never saying three words if he could finish two.
This feeling is quite novel.
Xia Xi licked her lips and smiled inexplicably.
Xu Yanfeng went to see Ziheng and saw that he had almost finished packing. He asked one last time, "Are you really going to school? Wouldn't it be nice to take a day off to play?"
Ziheng: "Don't delay my studies."
Xu Yanfeng chuckled: "You really like studying."
Ziheng ignored him.
Xu Yanfeng patted him on the head and said, "Okay, let's go home and get your schoolbag, have breakfast, and then take you to school."
"What about Mom?"
"I called Aunt Zhang. Let's wait until she arrives before we leave, okay?"

Listening to their conversation, Xia Xi wondered: when did the relationship between father and son become so harmonious? What had happened that she didn't know about?
After waiting for a few minutes, Aunt Zhang came over. Xu Yanfeng gave her a few instructions and took Ziheng home.
After picking up his schoolbag, Xu Yanfeng found a breakfast shop outside. While eating, he reminded Ziheng, "Don't tell your grandmother about your mother's illness. She's old and will be very worried, okay?"
Ziheng held the fork, rolled up the noodles and stuffed them into his mouth, nodding.
