Chapter 302 Why don’t we just stop being together?

Xu Yanfeng tilted his head back, resting his neck on the back of the sofa, his eyes staring straight at the ceiling. In his ears was the sound of water coming from the bathroom, intertwined with the sound of rain outside the window.

After a while, the sound of water in the bathroom stopped. A few minutes later, Xia Xi came out wiping her hair. Seeing that Xu Yanfeng did not ask the waiter to bring food, she knew that he wanted to go directly to the restaurant.

She said to Xu Yanfeng, "I need to blow dry my hair. If you're hungry, go to the restaurant first."

"No rush." Xu Yanfeng leisurely flipped through the travel magazine on the table, raised his head, and then lowered it again.

Xia Xi went back to the bathroom and picked up the hair dryer to blow dry her hair.

Amid the buzzing sound, she looked in the mirror, thinking about how to tell Xu Yanfeng.

She had originally planned to talk about reconciliation after she returned, but now that Xu Yanfeng was "coming" to her, she definitely couldn't just get away with it.

The hot wind made her head dizzy. After drying her hair, Xia Xi didn't plan to put on makeup anymore. She just put some lotion on her face and went out.

"Let's go." Xia Xi only brought his cell phone.

She was wearing a simple and comfortable dark brown pullover with a large neckline, similar to a one-shoulder sweater, revealing her delicate white collarbone, and an off-white wool skirt underneath that reached her ankles.

Xia Xi changed out of her slippers and stepped into a pair of flat leather shoes with two cross straps on the instep, a ballet style.

Xu Yanfeng picked up his coat and put it on her.

She was stunned for a moment, then turned her head to look at the straight man's suit on his shoulders, pursed her lips, and said softly, "I'm not cold."

"Put it on. It's easy to catch a cold after taking a shower." Xu Yanfeng pressed the elevator button.

The two of them arrived at the restaurant. It was a busy time, with empty seats everywhere. They found a random place to sit down. Xu Yanfeng opened the menu and ordered, then asked Xia Xi across from him, "Would you like some more?"

Xia Xi shook her head decisively. She was already a little full from dinner.

The rain outside kept falling, leaving winding streaks on the glass windows.

Xu Yanfeng closed the menu and said something to the waiter waiting beside him.

Xia Xi came back to his senses a little and seemed to hear him order mulled wine.

Soon, the meal Xu Yanfeng ordered was delivered. He pushed the mulled wine to Xia Xi and said, "Have a little, it'll help you sleep."

Xia Xi didn't refuse, but took a sip from the cup, while Xu Yanfeng lowered his head to eat the food in front of him.

The atmosphere was quiet, and Xia Xi broke it by saying, "Now that you're here, what should we do with Ziheng?"

"I sent it to the child's grandmother." Xu Yanfeng said, "I told the brat honestly that I was coming to see you, and he had no objection."

Of course, he understood that he couldn't neglect one thing while focusing on another, so he had to get his son's consent first, and then go to see Xia Xi without distraction.

Xu Yanfeng ate slowly. Xia Xi finished a glass of mulled wine, but he was still eating. Fortunately, she brought her cell phone down with her, so she could play with it to pass the time.

Xu Yanfeng was waiting for Xia Xi to bring up that matter, but she seemed to have forgotten it. He looked at her several times, but she didn't seem to want to talk about business. He couldn't concentrate on eating. He didn't even pay attention to what he put in his mouth. He was almost depressed.

Xu Yanfeng coughed softly and hinted in a roundabout way, "Did you forget something?"

Xia Xi slowly raised her eyes and placed her phone on the table. She knew what he was talking about but played dumb. “What’s the matter?”

Xu Yanfeng: “…”

If he eats any more, he'll get stomach problems.

Xu Yanfeng simply put down his knife and fork, took a sip of lemonade, and looked at her with a hint of resentment in his eyes: "Instead of worrying about when the sword above my head will fall, I might as well do it myself." He took a deep breath and said word by word, "How do you want to change our relationship?"

While taking a shower, Xia Xi was thinking about how to talk to him. She was also thinking about it while blow-drying her hair. Just now, she seemed to be playing with her mobile phone, but in fact, she didn't see anything. She was still thinking.

She thought she could delay it as long as possible, but now that Xu Yanfeng had asked her about it, she couldn't delay any longer.

Xia Xi threw all the words she had been preparing into the back of her mind and said the simplest and most straightforward words: "Xu Yanfeng, I've been thinking a lot recently. If you are still willing to be with me, I..."

Xu Yanfeng's heart was trembling. Before she could finish, he gave a positive answer: "There is no 'if'."

There is no assumption that "he still wants to be with her" because that is the fact.

"Just listen to me." Xia Xi glared at him in reproach. She had finally mustered up the courage to pour out what was buried in her heart, but when he interrupted her, she felt a little discouraged.

Xu Yanfeng curled his fingers on the table into fists, suppressing his surging emotions: "Okay, go ahead."

Xia Xi: "I forgot."

Xu Yanfeng: “?”

Xia Xi put the blame on him: "It's all your fault for interrupting me."

Xu Yanfeng calmed down and said, "Think about it carefully."

Xia Xi held her face in her hands, not looking at him. She lowered her head to look at the table, stumbling and speaking incoherently, "You, you're so smart, I don't believe you can't see it. I can't pretend I don't have feelings for you anymore. So, let's... make peace."

Phew, she finally finished.

Xia Xi really didn't know how she had done so many earth-shattering things at the age of 20. She confessed her love to Xu Yanfeng in public, more than once, and in order to win him over, she used all kinds of means that she felt extremely ashamed of when she thought about it now... It could simply be called a black history.

After thinking about a lot of random things, Xia Xi suddenly realized that Xu Yanfeng didn't seem to express his opinion?

She raised her eyelashes and glanced at the person opposite her.

He was completely petrified, which was really not in line with his personality.

Xia Xi tapped the table with her fingertips: "What do you mean?" At least give some reaction, otherwise she would feel like what she just said was just talking to the air.
