In the middle of the night, Xia Xi was thirsty and struggled for a while, wanting to get up and drink some water.
As soon as she moved, Xu Yanfeng woke up. Before he even opened his eyes, he subconsciously hugged her, holding her delicate skin with his hands, and said in a low voice, "What are you doing?"
"I want to drink some water." Xia Xi's voice was similar to his.
"Wait."
Xu Yanfeng murmured two words, lifted the quilt, got out of bed, and handed her a cup of warm water.
After Xia Xi drank half a cup, her sleepiness disappeared and her brain became alert. On the contrary, her body felt very tired. She glanced at the culprit and handed the cup to him.
His eyes swept across the dense kiss marks on Xia Xi's neck and collarbone. Xu Yanfeng felt a little guilty. His eyes wandered for a moment, and he took the cup from her hand and put it on the table.
Xia Xi couldn't sleep, so she simply put on her clothes, got out of bed, and started packing the things she bought at the mall in the afternoon.
Xu Yanfeng was about to go to bed when he saw her squatting there, taking things out of the shopping bag. He was stunned for a moment and asked, "What are you doing?"
"I have nothing to do, so I'm packing up." Xia Xi flipped over one of the long boxes, thought about what was inside, picked it up and threw it to Xu Yanfeng, "This is a gift for you."
"mine?"
"Yes, I bought things for everyone in my family." Xia Xi counted off the items one by one, tapping her fingers. "I bought a coat for my mom, a few sets of cosmetics for my older sister and my younger sister, and toys and clothes for the two children. Oh, and I picked out a silk scarf for Aunt Zhang. I wonder if she likes it."
Xu Yanfeng opened the box and found a tie of fine quality inside. It looked to be solid color, but if you changed the angle slightly, you could see dark patterns printed on it.
He closed the box, put it on the bedside table, and walked over to Xia Xi in his slippers: "You didn't buy it for yourself?"
Xia Xi looked up and pointed at her neck: "I bought a necklace. I'm already wearing it. I was too lazy to ask the cashier to wrap it."
Just now, when he was kissing her neck on the bed, Xu Yanfeng thought the snake bone necklace she was wearing was getting in the way and almost broke it. He smiled lightly, bent down and picked her up.
The body suddenly became airborne, and Xia Xi uttered a low cry: "Hey, I haven't finished sorting it yet."
"It's already late, and we're not going back home tomorrow," Xu Yanfeng said. "You said tomorrow's work is very important, why don't you sleep a little longer?"
"I said I couldn't sleep."
"Can't sleep?"
Xu Yanfeng dragged his voice and put her on the bed, but did not get up. He covered her with his eyes lowered to look into hers. After a few seconds, he suddenly moved closer and his lips fell on her eyelids.
Xia Xi had to close her eyes. When his lips left, she opened her eyes and said in a soft voice, "I'm warning you not to mess around again."
Xu Yanfeng raised the corner of his lips and smiled ambiguously: "Why does this sound to me like an invitation rather than a warning?"
Xia Xi pinched his face and said in a vicious tone: "Have some shame!"
Xu Yanfeng didn't plan to torment her anymore. Although he wanted to, he also had to consider her. He turned over and lay down next to her, pulling the quilt up to cover their bodies: "I won't tease you anymore, go to sleep."
Xia Xi closed her eyes. The rain outside seemed to have stopped completely. Everything was quiet. Soon she fell asleep.
Xu Yanfeng was the one who couldn't sleep. There was a wall lamp on in the room. The light was not very strong, but it was enough to see her face clearly. His eyes fell on her face and did not move away for a moment.
She was sleeping soundly, her breathing even and shallow. Xu Yanfeng's fingertips brushed across her plump, red lips, and then he slowly lowered his head and gently kissed her on the lips.

When the alarm rang, Xia Xi's mind was about to explode. She hurriedly dressed, washed, and put on makeup.
She didn't have time to eat breakfast and hurried to her workplace.
Xu Yanfeng called a car to take her there and accompanied her there. They had breakfast in the car.
Xia Xi originally felt a little resentful of his deliberate seduction and excessive indulgence last night, but then she changed her mind and realized that he couldn't do such a thing alone, and it was because she didn't have enough willpower to resist the temptation. He even inserted the straw. Xia Xi lowered her eyes, put the straw into his hand, and took two sips. The milk was surprisingly warm.
Xu Yanfeng: "How am I doing as an assistant?"
Xia Xi: "What?"
"It means I'll be your assistant." Xu Yanfeng said seriously, without any intention of joking.
Xia Xi still thought he was joking: "When do you plan to return home?"
Xu Yanfeng repeated her original words: "When do you plan to return home?"
Xia Xi uttered a soft "tsk," as if feeling helpless about his parrot-like behavior. "Didn't I tell you it would take another three or four days to finish. I haven't booked a flight yet."
Xu Yanfeng said, "I'll go back with you."
Xia Xi was startled and took the sandwich away from her mouth. "Is your work okay?"
When she was sick and hospitalized before, he stayed with her for several days, but that was in China, where signing documents was more convenient. Guan He would sort them out and send them to him. Now he was abroad, and if there were urgent documents that needed his signature, there would be no way.
Xu Yanfeng didn't care: "It has been arranged in advance."
He was a man of principles and plans, so Xia Xi stopped trying to persuade him.
Xu Yanfeng kept his word. Over the next few days, he really acted as Xia Xi's personal assistant, going to the scene with her. After they were done, they would go back to the hotel together to eat, take a walk, and sleep.
