Chapter 312 I am her brother-in-law

On the Saturday after the holiday, students have to go to school and working people have to go to work.

Xu Yanfeng had a social engagement at noon, which ended at two in the afternoon.

It happened to be the beginning of summer that day. The sky was high and blue, and the sun was shining brightly. When I went outside, there was bright sunlight everywhere, which was dazzling and hot. Summer had arrived.

Xu Yanfeng sat in the car, feeling a little sleepy at the moment, one hand resting on his forehead, his eyes slightly lowered. The car suddenly braked, and Xu Yanfeng leaned forward, his sleepiness instantly dissipating.

The driver nervously glanced at the people in the back seat through the rearview mirror: "Sorry, Mr. Xu, there's a motorcyclist up ahead who fell."

It was just an unexpected situation, so Xu Yanfeng didn't blame them. He turned his head to look out the window and inadvertently saw someone arguing.

At the entrance of a restaurant, a man and a woman were tugged at each other. The woman's profile looked familiar. The man, like an enraged lion, with a ferocious expression, shoved her hard. The woman stumbled backward and fell to the ground, her hands on the ground, her face facing the road. A few strands of her tied-up hair had fallen out, making her look disheveled.

Xu Yanfeng saw her face clearly in an instant. It was Xia Xi's sister Xia Yue.

Just at this moment, the person who fell in front got up, picked up the overturned motorcycle, and limped to the side of the road. The road was cleared and the car slowly drove out.

Xu Yanfeng spoke in time: "Wait a minute, pull over."

The driver looked around, turned the steering wheel, and found a convenient place to park.

As soon as the car stopped, Xu Yanfeng buttoned the front of his suit and got out.

The driver didn't know what he was going to do, so he quickly turned off the engine and followed him.

Xia Yue fell to the ground, her leg twisted and her palms scraped. She couldn't get up for a long time. She pushed her hair away from her face, glared at the man angrily, and roared, "I said I don't have any money, what do you want?!"

The man squatted down in front of her, pretended to pat the dust off her pants, and said with a grin, "You don't have it, but your mother does. If your mother doesn't have it, your sister definitely does. She's very capable, I've seen that before."

Xia Yue cried: "Are you still human?"

The man was indifferent to her tears. He took the cigarette from the corner of his mouth and blew smoke rings in her face: "Xia Yue, don't forget, you killed my mother. Killing means paying with one's life. You spent a few years in prison and want to write it off. Isn't that too easy?"

Xia Yue felt a chill run down her spine, shivering uncontrollably under the sun. He had spoken the very thing she most wanted to forget, right in front of everyone. She instinctively looked up at the restaurant entrance. It was past the busiest time of the day, and employees, hearing the commotion, had rushed out to watch, pointing and whispering at her and Zhou Hongsheng.

Those were colleagues who had worked with her for more than a month. They usually had a good relationship with each other, but at this time no one was willing to stand up and help, even to say a word.

But you can't blame others. Most people wouldn't even have time to hide when encountering such a thing.

Xia Yue was feeling embarrassed when someone grabbed her arm and helped her up. She turned around hurriedly and met Xu Yanfeng's face, so shocked that she forgot to speak.

Xu Yanfeng frowned at the man opposite him who looked gentle but acted ungentlemanly, and said coldly: "What kind of man are you to bully a woman?"

"You..." Zhou Hongsheng's lungs were poked, his eyes widened with anger, and he was about to curse back when he suddenly noticed that the man was dressed in extraordinary clothes and had an aura that was not possessed by ordinary people. He had an oppressive feeling of a superior. Behind him was a man in a suit and tie, who seemed to be his subordinate.

The experience I've learned from working in society is that you should never offend people you don't understand, especially those who appear to be either rich or noble. Zhou Hongsheng gritted his teeth and swallowed his curse words, pointing at Xia Yue and saying, "I'm her husband, what's wrong with me saying a few words to her? Who are you to her? What qualifications do you have to meddle in the affairs between us?"

Xia Yue was a woman who had been in prison and was struggling to support herself. How could she have met someone like him? Zhou Hongsheng looked towards the restaurant next to him. Could it be that she met him there while serving dishes?

Unexpectedly, the next second, the man in front of him spoke: "I'm her brother-in-law, do you think I have any say in this?"

Zhou Hongsheng was stunned.

Brother-in-law?

Xia Xi's husband? Definitely not Xia Xuan's. Xia Xuan is a sickly woman and doesn't have that kind of ability.

Xia Yue noticed someone holding up a cell phone to record a video. Worried about the negative impact on Xu Yanfeng, she whispered, "Could you please take me away first? I don't think I can walk properly."

Xu Yanfeng didn't say much to the man. He just gave the driver a look. The driver hurried forward, supported Xia Yue on the other side, and helped her into the car.

Zhou Hongsheng watched from where he was. Men are very sensitive about cars. The car parked on the side of the road was worth at least tens of millions, so he naturally didn't dare to chase it to ask for the person.

The driver got into the cab and listened to Xu Yanfeng's instructions: "Find a nearby hospital."

"I'm sorry to bother you." Xia Yue gathered her messy hair behind her head and tied it with a rubber band. She looked down at the gravel stuck in her palm and wiped it with a tissue.

"We're all family, it's not a big deal." Xu Yanfeng thought for a moment and asked about what happened just now, "Why did that man come to you? What does he want to do?"

Xia Yue pursed her dry lips, not knowing where to begin to talk about this mess.

Xu Yanfeng handed over a bottle of purified water with the cap already unscrewed. Xia Yue took it and took two sips before telling the story: "I don't know when he came to Nancheng. I worked at that restaurant, and he happened to come over for dinner one day and ran into me. After that, he came over to harass me a few times, but it wasn't a big deal. I... our marriage was still going on while I was serving my sentence. Since I ran into him, I filed for a divorce, but he disagreed. Today he came to ask for money, saying he would only divorce me if the money was paid in full. He threatened me with Youyou, and I got angry and started arguing with him, so he started fighting."
