Chapter 313: The Benefits of Less Struggle for Twenty Years

When I returned to Su Jinru's house, I was asked about the reason why Xia Yue was injured.

Xia Yue hesitated and couldn't say anything, so Xia Xi spoke for her: "That bastard Zhou Hongsheng came to see my sister."

When Su Jinru heard this, her heart started pounding and she frowned, "Why did he come here?" She felt sick just hearing that man's name.

"What else could a guy like that want?" Xia Xi said, "He wants money. He won't divorce my sister unless the money is paid."

Su Jinru, a person who treats others with extreme gentleness, couldn't help but curse a few times. After scolding, she became worried about Xia Yue and said with a sad face, "What should we do?"

Xia Xi made a cup of tea and handed it to Xu Yanfeng: "Xu Yanfeng said to let him take care of it."

Su Jinru knew about Xu Yanfeng and Xia Xi's reunion. Upon hearing this, she turned her gaze to Xu Yanfeng. She knew Xu Yanfeng's abilities well, and he would definitely be able to deal with Zhou Hongsheng. It was precisely because of this that she felt she owed him a favor.

"Should we give him money?" Su Jinru had the same initial thought as Xia Xi, thinking Xu Yanfeng would just use money to solve the problem. She disagreed, "That would be too easy for Zhou Hongsheng."

Xia Xi: "He said he won't give that beast any money, and I don't know what he's going to do."

Xu Yanfeng took a sip of tea and assured Su Jinru, "Don't worry, I will take care of this matter."

Since it concerns her own daughter, how could Su Jinru be completely relieved? Her brows were still furrowed, and she sighed heavily, looking at Xia Yue with heartache.

Zhou Hongsheng seemed so polite at first, who would have thought that he had such a bad nature.

It can be seen that the saying "people's hearts are hidden" is true. Isn't it the same with Xia Chenggang? An honest man in everyone's eyes, taciturn, loyal and reliable, but in fact he is a scumbag.

"Didn't you see my mom's eyebrows are all knotted with worry?" Xia Xi sat next to Xu Yanfeng and bumped his arm. "Tell me how you plan to solve it, so that my mom can be at ease."

Xu Yanfeng hesitated a bit: "There is a general direction, but it may take time to implement it."

After sitting for a while, Xu Yanfeng took Xia Xi to say goodbye. Before leaving, Xia Xi told Xia Yue to stay at home and recover from her injuries, and not to go to the restaurant for the time being, in case Zhou Hongsheng caused trouble again.

Xia Yue smiled bitterly. She was afraid that even if she didn't ask for leave, the restaurant would fire her. Her colleagues had seen what happened today, and she was sure that word would soon reach the boss's ears.

When the two were alone, Xia Xi put away the obedient appearance in front of Su Jinru and threatened Xu Yanfeng with a stern face: "Are you going to tell me or not? Why are you still keeping me in suspense?"

The car was heading towards the kindergarten. It was almost time to go home from school, so the two of them went to pick up their children.

Xu Yanfeng leaned back in his chair, looking nonchalant: "What do you want if I don't tell you?"

Xia Xi looked him up and down, and she really couldn't do anything to him.

Xu Yanfeng looked at her, raised his eyebrows and chuckled.

Xia Xi was angry. She turned sideways and put her arm around his neck. "Will you tell me or not?"

Xu Yanfeng couldn't help laughing. He patted her arm that was around his neck and whispered, "The driver is still here."

Xia Xi was very concerned about his reputation. He glanced at the driver, let go of his hand, and sat down obediently.

Xu Yanfeng straightened his tie, which she had twisted askew, and said, "If there were a greater benefit for Zhou Hongsheng, provided he was single again, do you think he would be impatient to file for a divorce?"

Xia Xi pondered for a while, not quite understanding: "What kind of benefits?"

Xu Yanfeng flicked her forehead with his finger and whispered to her, "It's the benefit of saving twenty years of hard work."

Xia Xi suddenly realized: "You mean looking for someone..."

"Almost." Xu Yanfeng tilted his head to look at her and said calmly, "This kind of thing can't be rushed. If Zhou Hongsheng is a cautious person, it will take some time for him to take the bait."

"I know him better than you do. He's not a very wise man. He has no principles when it comes to money," Xia Xi said. "Just watch! As long as the bait is tempting enough, he'll bite faster than anyone else, and he's afraid someone else will snatch it away."

The next day was a day off, so Xia Xi took Youyou over. It happened that she had some free time, so she baked bread for the two children.

Xu Yanfeng received a call and stood up to answer it by the window.

Xia Xi came over wearing thick cotton gloves, holding a baking tray. The freshly baked bread exuded a milky aroma, and the whole room was filled with this smell, as if she had accidentally walked into a bakery.

Aunt Zhang had just been given a piece of bread by Xia Xi. After taking a bite, she praised it highly: "I didn't expect that you have such cooking skills, Xia Xi."

Xia Xi smiled and said, "I just followed the tutorials in the book. I've done this many times abroad. I couldn't do it well at first and always failed, but later I got the hang of it."

She took off her gloves and said to the two children who were playing with toys, "Go wash your hands and come over to eat bread."

Xia Xi picked one up and went to find Xu Yanfeng. As he got closer, he vaguely heard him say, "Have you arranged someone? Okay, I understand."

Sensing someone approaching, Xu Yanfeng turned his head to look. Xia Xi tore off a small piece of bread and stuffed it into his mouth. His eyebrows softened, and he smiled. He chewed and swallowed, then continued talking to the person on the phone: "That person's name is Zhou Hongsheng. I'll have my assistant send you a photo, as well as the places where he often hangs out."

Xia Xi took a bite of bread, and after hearing what he said, she raised her eyes and looked at him blankly.

Xu Yanfeng grabbed her wrist and bit her hand where she had just bitten it. After a few seconds, he said, "Report to me if anything happens."

Seeing him hang up the phone, Xia Xi immediately asked: "Have you found the 'bait'?"

Xu Yanfeng put his phone aside and took the remaining bread from her hand. He said lazily, "No need to look for it specifically. There are places that specialize in this." Xu Yanfeng ate the last bite of bread and glanced at her. "It's quite delicious."
