Now wasn't the time to assign blame. Xia Xi had already figured out the entire situation. After a moment's silence, she spoke gently, "Mrs. Li, as your daughter, I completely understand how you feel. Anyone would feel bad, and we must get to the bottom of this."
Her words touched Mrs. Li's heart. She relaxed her expression, sat down again and drank some tea.
Xia Xi considered her words carefully and spoke slowly, "But, to be honest, we, the interior designers, are quite innocent of this accident. Engineer Gao was right; there were problems with the staircase from the very beginning." Xia Xi spoke more and more slowly, fearing that any harshness would ignite Mrs. Li's anger again. Mrs. Li sat upright, without beating around the bush, and said directly: "You have handled the staircase problem perfectly..."
Xia Xi immediately agreed: "Of course."

Gao Ge's face changed first. It was simply a pipe dream to decorate such a large private manor for her for free!

"What? You're speechless? Don't you want to take responsibility?" Mrs. Li's face was dark, and she looked at Xia Xi with a sarcastic look. "What you said before made me feel comfortable. I thought you were a reasonable person, but I didn't expect you could only say nice things."
Xia Xi's face stiffened slightly. It was impossible for her to agree to Mrs. Li's request out of hand.
"Mrs. Li, why don't you go back first? I'll call our CEO Lu to discuss this." Xia Xi said with embarrassment, "After all, I'm only half the boss and can't make all the decisions."
Before leaving, Mrs. Li warned: "You'd better not fool me."
Xia Xi personally sent the person out, returned to the office, looked at Gao Ge, and sighed tiredly.
Gao Ge no longer felt that she was innocent as before. She apologized, "I'm sorry. It was negligence on my part. I didn't pay attention to the problem with the stairs, which caused losses to the company." Looking at Mrs. Li's attitude, it would not work if the company did not give her an explanation that satisfied her.
Yu Xiaoxiao stood aside, her face pale, her fingers clenched in her palms, not daring to say a word.

Gao Ge was depressed and anxious. She pursed her lips, hummed, and left the office. Yu Xiaoxiao followed her with her head down.
"Come with me." Gao Ge's face suddenly turned cold and he said to the person behind him.
Yu Xiaoxiao raised her eyes and met Gao Ge's cold gaze. Her heart started beating wildly and she silently followed Gao Ge into her office.
The door closed, and Gao Ge turned around, looking down at the person in front of him. "Did you really filter out the email sent by Assistant Xia Xi? I know you're a bit clever, but I advise you not to play tricks on me at a time like this. I don't have that much patience."
In Xia Xi's office, she noticed that Yu Xiaoxiao's reaction was not right. If she was indeed negligent in her work, she would be anxious, apologetic, or even frightened. Why would she act so guilty that she dared not look at anyone?
Yu Xiaoxiao shuddered, tears welling up in her eyes as she confessed everything, "I could see Mrs. Li was anxious about the renovation progress, so I went to her and told her that Engineer Xia already had the Jingyu Garden project and wouldn't take her private estate seriously. That's why Mrs. Li gave us this order. When I received the email from Huang Shiyu, I thought Engineer Xia knew about my behind-the-scenes tricks. I figured she wouldn't be so kind, so I ignored the email and deleted it."
After listening to this, Gao Ge felt like a stone was blocking his chest and he was about to vomit blood.
She just wanted to know what the email was about, but she didn't expect there was such a hidden secret.
Gao Ge closed his eyes, his hands resting on the desk. He couldn't breathe for a long time, and finally looked at Yu Xiaoxiao coldly: "I have always been principled in doing things, and no one is exempt from it. When this is over, you can resign on your own."
Yu Xiaoxiao cried out: "Engineer Gao, I know I was wrong, please give me another chance."
