Holding a glass of room-temperature fruit and vegetable juice, Xia Xuan followed Xia Xi as they strolled through the mall. Entering a women's clothing store, Xia Xuan ran straight to the floor-to-ceiling window. A row of skirts hung there, and Xia Xi followed closely behind. "Are there any you like? I'll buy them for you."
"Sister, I'm rich." Xia Xuan let go of the straw and blinked, a little proud. "Do you know how much I charge for a commercial manuscript?"
Xia Xi followed her words and asked with a smile: "How much?"
"Over two thousand, and that's just the basic price. If it's a full-body photo of two people, the price will go up." Xia Xuan pointed out the window, "I'm not looking at skirts, I'm looking at the store across the street."
Xia Xi looked across and saw a newly opened candy shop on the first floor. It might have been open for only a few days. There were neatly arranged tripod flower baskets and wheat ears at the door, and a banner hanging on the door read "New store opening, 20% off on all items."
"Let's go buy some candy later." Xia Xuan turned to look at her and said with a smile, "I heard from my eldest sister that you and your brother-in-law are getting married. How can you not have wedding candy? Aren't you planning to give some to your colleagues at the company? It's a happy occasion after all."
Xia Xi rubbed his forehead and said, "If you hadn't mentioned it, I wouldn't have thought about it that way."
Xia Xuan: "Should you thank me for reminding you?"
"Yeah." Xia Xi rubbed her head.
After buying two skirts in the store, Xia Xi carried them, and they walked out of the mall arm in arm, crossed the street, and entered the candy store. It was a holiday, and there was an opening event, so the store was crowded, and the originally spacious aisles were a bit crowded.
The interior is warmly decorated, and all you see are macaron colors and a sweet smell. Rows of metal shelves are filled with acrylic boxes filled with all kinds of candies.
Xia Xuan tore off a few plastic bags, bent over to read the labels on the acrylic boxes, and chose the flavors she liked. Xia Xi followed her lead, saying, "Buy more; I have a lot of colleagues."
Xia Xuan handed her two bags and said, "Don't just stand there and watch. Choose something too. There are so many varieties. I can't pick them all."
Xia Xi took the bag and was about to look at the chocolates on the other wall when she turned her eyes and caught a glimpse of a familiar face among the customers passing by.
Xia Xuan touched her arm and said, "This jelly candy looks delicious. There's only a little left. Ask the waiter to bring some more..."
Xia Xi didn't respond. Xia Xuan looked up in confusion, only to see her staring in one direction. She followed her gaze and saw Miao Yijiajia in the crowd. She was wearing a long halter dress with large, colorful oil paintings printed on it and a black velvet bow tied on her shoulder. She smiled beautifully and tilted her head to talk to her companions.
In an instant, the smile on Xia Xuan's face froze and her blood boiled.
