Xia Xi asked, "What is this?" as he took the utility knife and cut the tape on the box.
Inside was something like a photo album, three or four of them.
Xia Xi took out the top book and glanced sideways at Xu Yanfeng. A faint smile appeared in his dark eyes. He stared at her movements, as if looking forward to her reaction after seeing it.
Xia Xi opened the thick booklet and saw a photo of a wedding dress.
This was the most gorgeous wedding dress she had ever seen. The skirt was inlaid with sparkling diamonds. Before she saw it in person, she could imagine how dazzling it would be under the lights.
Xia Xi's breathing slowed down, and he looked at Xu Yanfeng. The smile in his eyes became more obvious. "Do you like it? I picked it myself. If you don't like it, it's probably too late. It's already finished."
"You..." Xia Xi's language organization function was impaired, "When did you... prepare it?"
"A long time ago."
"How early?"
Xia Xi recalled the time when Xu Yanfeng proposed to her. She asked him when he had prepared the ring, and he said it was a long time ago. Later, she learned from Xu Junmo that he had bought the ring seven years ago.
Xia Xi gasped: "Could it be many years ago?"
"Not really." Xu Yanfeng curled his lips and told the truth, "After we reconciled, I selected some well-known wedding dress designers and chose the design that I was most satisfied with. This is the one you see."
Xia Xi flipped back, expecting other options, but all the pictures showed the details of the wedding dress. The sleeves were a thin layer of mesh, painted with diamonds and pearls in an exquisite pattern of roses and vines, and the cuffs were a pair of swan wings.
Turning the page again, we see the details behind the wedding dress: layers of tulle tied into a bow with a long tail.
The last page features a matching veil, a patchwork of white fabric embroidered with lace flowers.
Xia Xi put the first booklet on the table and went to look at the remaining books.
The rest are dresses, in various styles and colors, strapless, halterneck, one-shoulder... each one looks great.
Xia Xi was tired of standing, so she sat on the sofa, holding the book and reading. Xu Yanfeng accompanied her, his arm around her shoulders, and she leaned on his chest, turning page after page.
Xu Yanfeng twisted the hair that fell on her arm with his fingers and whispered in her ear, "I've already decided on the main wedding dress, and it's up to you to choose the dresses. Tell me which ones you like, or you can buy them all."
Xia Xi's heart was pounding, and she whispered, "What do you need so many dresses for?"
Xu Yanfeng loosened his grip, letting the silky hair slip through his fingertips. He pinched her jade-like earlobe and said, "There will always be an occasion to wear it in the future."
Xia Xi's fingertips rested on the hard edge of the album, refusing to waste money. "Just pick one or two to wear at the wedding banquet. You don't need so many. I don't have many occasions where I need to wear them normally."
She is not a star, does not walk the red carpet, and does not follow the rule that dresses that have been worn cannot be worn again.
Xu Yanfeng held her hand and turned it over. He looked at the ridges on her fingertips and pinched them. "Do you agree to the wedding?"
Xia Xi sat up straighter and looked at him, the tips of her ears feeling slightly hot under her hair. "When did I ever disagree?"
She had said that it didn't matter whether they had a wedding or not, but he refuted her at the time and made it clear that it must be held. He wanted a ceremony to announce to all relatives and friends that they were husband and wife. He also said that he wanted to see her walking towards him in her wedding dress.
How could she not satisfy him?
"Then it's settled." Xu Yanfeng lifted her hand and kissed the back of her fingers. "I'll take care of the wedding, you just need to attend."
"When you say that, it seems like I'm a wedding guest." Xia Xi glanced at the child sitting on the carpet playing with Lego, then pulled his hand back. There was still warmth on his fingers, the warmth of his lips. "If you need me, I'll cooperate."
Xu Yanfeng stared at her smiling eyes and couldn't help but hold the back of her head, lowered his head and kissed her lips, rolling and sucking for a few times.
Xia Xi's heartbeat was already higher than normal, and under the stimulation of nervousness, he could hear the "boom boom boom" sound of his heartbeat in his ears, like the beating of a drum.
She pushed Xu Yanfeng's face away with force, her face as red as a cooked shrimp. She stared at him with watery eyes and pointed at Ziheng who had his back to them, reminding him to be careful as it would be bad if he was caught by a child.
Xu Yanfeng leaned back on the pillow and smiled at her, what a coward.
Understanding his look, Xia Xi kicked off her slippers and kicked him.
Xu Yanfeng quickly grasped her slender ankle and pulled her into his arms. Xia Xi was caught off guard and fell backward, almost falling onto the sofa, dropping the book in her hand. However, Xu Yanfeng was prepared, placing a hand on her back and pulling her back steadily.
Even Ziheng, who was concentrating on building Lego, couldn't ignore the commotion. He turned to look at his parents. Xia Xi blushed, looked at her son, and coughed softly. "I wasn't sitting properly, so your dad pulled me up."
Ziheng: “?”
Can’t sit steadily on the sofa?
Xia Xi knew that her son would not be easily fooled, so she quickly changed the subject: "Do you want ice cream? Go to the refrigerator and get it yourself, and get one for me too." She felt her face was so hot that it was about to burn.
Ziheng sighed and said uneasily, "We're almost ready for dinner. Isn't it a bad idea to eat ice cream at this time?"
Xia Xi: “…”
Xu Yanfeng chuckled, bent down to pick up the booklet that had fallen on the ground, and flipped through it, stopping at the page Xia Xi had been reading before. It was a burgundy dress with a ribbon around the neck and two silk flowers close together.
