Li Danyan was eating delicious dishes. When she heard Xia Xi's words, she paused and looked at her.
The answer immediately popped into her mind without any need for recollection, because Miao Yijia had just called her that morning to talk about it and asked about the boy she brought with her.
Li Danyan swallowed the food in her mouth, took a sip of juice, and said, "Of course I remember. I only went to the bar once in the past two months, and that was with Jia Jia, and a male friend."
She didn't really know the guy well; they'd met in an escape room, and they'd added each other as friends, but they rarely kept in touch. That night, after get off work, she was buying food at a convenience store when she ran into him. Hearing she was going to a bar, he suggested they go together, as he was also a frequent visitor.
After arriving at the bar, I met up with Miao Yijiajia who was waiting there.
They didn't go dancing on the floor, just drank and chatted in the booth. The boy teased Miao Yijia with his conversation, intentionally or unintentionally, but other than that, nothing out of the ordinary happened. Then she got a call from a colleague saying there were some issues with the plan and it needed urgent revisions. It had to be submitted to the client for approval the next day, so she had to rush back to the office to work overtime.
She asked Miao Yijia if she wanted to go with her. Miao Yijia was having fun and waved her off, saying she wanted to sit for a while.
Before leaving, she told the boy to take good care of Miao Yijiajia and, if possible, to send her home.
It's safer in the bar with a boy.
"I left very early that day, so I don't know what happened afterwards," Li Danyan said cautiously. "Did...something happen?"
"No." Xia Xi smiled and shook her head, comforting her, "It has nothing to do with you, don't think too much."
Li Danyan was skeptical: "Jia Jia also talked to me about this this morning. I was working at the time and didn't pay much attention to it. Now that I think about it, her mood seems a little off."

Li Danyan said a name, and worried that Xia Xi didn't know the corresponding word, she took out her cell phone and typed the word in the memo to show her.
Xia Xi took a look, remembered it, and added her WeChat.
After having dinner with Li Danyan, Xia Xi said goodbye at the restaurant door. Looking at Li Danyan's WeChat profile picture on his phone, he clicked on it and transferred some money to her as a thank you.
Li Danyan initially refused to accept it, but after Xia Xi's persuasion, she accepted it. After all, the amount was not small.
Xu Yanfeng only said one sentence the entire time, which was to correct Li Danyan's way of addressing him. At this moment, he put his arm around Xia Xi's shoulders and touched her face with his palm: "Do you want to leave?"
"Where are you going?" Xia Xi turned her head to look at him. "Home?"
"Bar." Xu Yanfeng raised his eyebrows slightly, "Isn't that what you think?"
Xia Xi suppressed her laughter and pinched his face as a response: "How come you are so amazing that you even know what I am thinking."
Xu Yanfeng: "Let's go, I'll take you to the bar."
The two got in the car and headed to the bar that Li Danyan mentioned. They originally wanted to figure out some things, but now it seemed like they were solving a case.

The bar was bustling with activity, filled with bright lights, wine and women dancing on the dance floor. The bar, booths and even the aisles were packed with people.
Xu Yanfeng firmly grasped Xia Xi's hand and pushed through the crowd to walk inside. Xia Xi didn't even look at the road, just followed him closely with her head down. Xu Yanfeng's face had the capital to be extremely impressive in any occasion. He was tall and had an outstanding temperament. As he walked, people automatically made way for him. Xia Xi suddenly felt that the road ahead was much smoother. She looked up and saw countless pairs of eyes looking at her.
Those people held up their wine glasses, their eyes brighter than the spotlights above their heads.
Noticing the woman next to Xu Yanfeng, the opposite sex in the crowd who were eager to try suppressed their thoughts.
When they arrived at the bar, the skilled bartender asked them what they would like to drink.
Xu Yanfeng tapped his fingers lightly on the table: "I want to see your manager."
A few minutes later, the bar manager came over. Xu Yanfeng and Xia Xi exchanged glances, and Xia Xi said to the manager, "My sister came here last month and had some problems. I want to check the surveillance."
The manager observed them for a moment, then said in a businesslike manner, "I'm sorry, you don't have the right to check the surveillance footage. If necessary, you can call the police. Once they give you their instructions, we will cooperate in retrieving the surveillance footage."
Xia Xi understood, but...
Before he could finish his thought, Xu Yanfeng asked the manager to go to a quieter place to negotiate. After a few words, Xu Yanfeng turned around and called Xia Xi: "Come here."
Xia Xi looked at him in surprise. Did they agree on it so quickly?
She followed him and was held by Xu Yanfeng's hand again. She lowered her voice and asked, "Is it done?"
Xu Yanfeng: "Yeah."
The manager led the way, his attitude much more respectful than before: "Please follow me."
When they arrived at the monitoring room, the manager asked them which day's surveillance footage they wanted to retrieve.
"According to the rules, surveillance data should be kept for 30 days, but here we only keep it for three months. I'm afraid it won't work if it's too long."
Xia Xi mentioned a date, and the manager patted the shoulder of the staff member in charge of monitoring and asked him to transfer it out as soon as possible.
