Xia Xi was standing on a 20-centimeter-high round platform wearing flat shoes, almost at the same level as Xu Yanfeng who was below the platform. Their eyes met, and Xia Xi felt a little embarrassed.
"It's not like you won't have the chance to see it again. You can see enough on the wedding day." Xia Xi spoke in a low voice. After all, there was only a curtain between them, and Ziheng was still outside.
Xu Yanfeng's gaze moved from her beautiful eyes to her slender white neck, and then to her delicate collarbone. Her bare shoulders and arms were covered with only a layer of gauze that was close to her skin color. The gauze was embellished with diamonds and pearls, as if it was directly attached to her skin.
"A wedding is a wedding, and now is now." Xu Yanfeng said with a bunch of twisted reasoning, "I want to take a closer look now."
Xia Xi smiled, her eyes curved, the blush on her face more obvious, and she put her hands on his shoulders, showing herself openly: "Look, look as much as you want, it's free."
Xu Yanfeng also laughed.
He moved forward, the tip of his shoe touching the edge of the platform. He lowered his voice and said in a drawling tone, "Do you feel that this height..."
Xia Xi didn't understand: "What?"
Xu Yanfeng licked his lower lip and said the second half of the sentence in a deeper voice: "Very suitable for kissing."
He didn't have to lower his head, and she didn't have to raise her head.
Xia Xi: “…”
Xia Xi, realizing what was happening, patted his shoulder and glanced at the curtain. Although it was tightly drawn, it still felt strange. She reminded him in a low voice, "Ziheng is here." There was no telling when the shop assistants who had temporarily left would return.
Xu Yanfeng put his hands on her waist and gently pulled her into his arms, bringing them closer so that their noses were almost touching.
Xia Xi wanted to hide, but was afraid of making a noise, so her heart was beating especially fast.
Seeing her nervous look like a thief, Xu Yanfeng coaxed her with a smile: "Just a kiss, just once." He spoke in a whisper, and as his lips opened and closed, his hot breath swept across her face.
Xia Xi really couldn't resist him, so she took the initiative to kiss him on the mouth and warned him with her eyes to stop.
Xu Yanfeng seemed not to understand the hint in her eyes. He tilted his head slightly and kissed her back.
Xia Xi pushed him but failed. His so-called "kiss" turned into a deep kiss. She felt that her heart had turned into a balloon that was almost filled with air and was about to explode in the next second.
After a long time, so long that Xia Xi was a little short of oxygen, Xu Yanfeng showed no sign of stopping. What finally saved her was a string of cell phone rings.
Xu Yanfeng stepped back, still unsatisfied, and gave her a deep look. Xia Xi's cheeks were flushed, her eyes blurry, as if she had drunk strong liquor, and even the glare she gave him seemed like seduction.
Xu Yanfeng smiled, pinched her face, and stepped back behind the curtain.
Ziheng was almost asleep on the sofa. He opened his eyes when he heard the ringing of the phone. Seeing that his parents had no intention of leaving, he continued to doze off.
Xu Yanfeng walked aside and answered the phone. Xia Xi wanted to take off her wedding dress, but found it very difficult on her own, so she opened the curtain a little, peeked out, and wanted to call the clerk to help.
Xu Yanfeng noticed something and glanced at her. Their eyes met, and he immediately understood what she meant. He called the waiter and then continued to answer the phone.
It was Zhong Yinghong who called.
After such a long tug-of-war, Xu Guanshan finally gave in and agreed to a divorce by agreement, avoiding the lengthy litigation process and embarrassing both parties.
*
After trying on the wedding dress, Xia Xi felt like she had run 800 meters.
I can’t imagine having to go through so many procedures wearing that wedding dress on the wedding day, but it only happens once in a lifetime, so there’s nothing to complain about. As long as it looks good, that’s all that matters.
When he got home, Ziheng had gotten over his sleepiness and was sitting on the carpet to build the Lego set he hadn't finished.
Xu Yanfeng washed some fruit, cut it, put it in a glass bowl, and handed it to Xia Xi.
Xia Xi was sitting cross-legged on the sofa playing with his phone when he suddenly remembered that he had received a call earlier. He looked up and asked, "Don't you have anything to do at work?"
"No." Xu Yanfeng fed her an orange. "Why do you say that?"
"Isn't that a work call?"
"It's Ms. Zhong," Xu Yanfeng said. "She told me that the man agreed to a divorce."
Xia Xi was stunned and felt a little touched.
She put down her phone, thought carefully, and said, "After she finishes dealing with the divorce-related matters, why don't we ask her to come and live with us for a while?" After a pause, she was a little unsure, "I just don't know if she's willing."
Xu Yanfeng raised his eyebrows.
Seeing his expression, Xia Xi pursed her lips and explained, "I think she might be in a bad mood. Living with us and having someone to talk to, maybe she won't think too much."
Xu Yanfeng: "Are you so considerate of her?"
Xia Xi looked at him and said, "What are you talking about? I've already married you, and your mother is also my mother."
Xu Yanfeng raised the corner of his lips: "I will convey your meaning to her."
"Yeah." Xia Xi nodded with satisfaction and started eating the fruit.
"Have you thought about where to go for your honeymoon?" Xu Yanfeng asked.
The topic jumped so quickly that Xia Xi couldn't wrap her mind around it. She stared at him for several seconds. "A honeymoon?" She hadn't thought about that before and said hesitantly, "I've put off some work lately. After the wedding, I can't slack off anymore, so I don't think I'll have much time. Besides, what about Ziheng if we go out for fun?"
Xu Yanfeng glanced at Ziheng, who was immersed in building blocks. "We can send him to our mother's place, or let him stay with Ms. Zhong."
Ziheng glanced over and said, "I heard everything."
Xu Yanfeng: "What happened?"
Ziheng shook his head and sighed, "Forget it." Like an adult, he turned his head back, his small back full of melancholy.
