Xu Yanfeng stared at the phone placed there, his eyes flickering slightly, but he had no intention of answering it.
It was Xia Xi who reminded him: "Pick it up. Maybe it has something to do with your mother."
Xu Yanfeng took her words in and picked up the phone, but hesitated for a few seconds before pressing the answer button. His voice was calm, without any emotion: "Hello."
Xu Guanshan's voice was a little tired, not as vigorous as before: "When you have time, let's meet."
Xu Yanfeng moved his lips, but ultimately said nothing.
Xu Guanshan seemed to understand his refusal and added, "This is about the Xu family, so I need to explain it to you clearly."
Xu Yanfeng thought for a moment and replied: "Tomorrow morning."
Xu Guanshan had no objection: "Then tomorrow morning."
The father and son had nothing else to say. Both sides were silent, and Xu Guanshan hung up the phone first.
Xia Xi had always been open-minded about Xu Guanshan's situation, but she had no intention of trying to persuade Xu Yanfeng. He had his own considerations. She hugged his arm with both hands, pressed her face against his, and silently comforted him.
Xu Yanfeng placed his palm on her head and stroked it gently a few times: "I'm fine."
He didn't know whether Xu Guanshan's claim that "it was about the Xu family" was true or not. Perhaps it was just an excuse. With Zhong Yinghong and he about to divorce, what could he possibly have to explain?
The cell phone rang. Xia Xi moved, took it and took a look, then immediately sat up in shock.
Xu Yanfeng was confused by her action and gave her a bewildered look.
Xia Xi explained to him: "I promised to help Liang Yuan with a small favor, but I forgot."
Liang Yuan roared in the group: "Sister, you just said you would call me, where have you been? @Xia Xi"
Zhao Lei: "I would like to help you, but it's too noisy here, and I'm afraid of being exposed if I call."
Xia Xi: "Sorry, something delayed me. I'm coming, I'm coming."
After replying to the message in the group, Xia Xi immediately called Liang Yuan and started acting: "Liang Yuan? Xiao Liu has taken a leave for something urgent. We are short of staff here. Do you think you can come back to cover for him?"
Xu Yanfeng, who was watching her acting, laughed.
Xia Xi raised her eyelids and saw his expression. She almost laughed out loud. She pursed her lips to hold back her laughter and glared at him.
Xu Yanfeng acted a little innocent, he didn't do anything.
On the other end of the phone, Liang Yuan was very understanding and deliberately said loudly: "Manager Xia, I'm going back to my hometown, but don't worry, work is still more important. I will buy a ticket and go back and go to work on time tomorrow."
Xia Xi: "Well, that's it."
After the call ended, Xia Xi pinched the arm of the person next to him: "Why did you suddenly look at me and smile? I almost broke down."
"I think your acting skills seem to have regressed." Xu Yanfeng raised his lip and brought up the past. "When we met again, you acted in front of me, but it was much more sophisticated. There was no trace of acting at all. I thought you really didn't care about me anymore."
Xia Xi pinched him hard, feeling guilty and embarrassed: "Can you please not mention this?"
"Okay, let's not talk about it." Xu Yanfeng stared into her eyes, smiling, "I won't mention it anymore."
Xia Xi was finally satisfied. While Ziheng wasn't looking at them, she leaned over and kissed the corner of his lips, saying softly, "This is a reward for you."
Xu Yanfeng looked at her, and the corner of his lips that she had kissed raised.

The next morning, Xu Yanfeng went out to meet Xu Guanshan.
The meeting place was not in the old house, but was chosen by Xu Guanshan in a quiet teahouse.
Xu Guanshan loves drinking tea. He knows all the elegant teahouses in Nancheng. He even has tea rooms in several teahouses reserved by him to meet old friends or discuss business.
Standing at the door of the teahouse was an assistant who had followed Xu Guanshan for decades. Seeing Xu Yanfeng approaching, he bowed respectfully and said, "Mr. Xu."
Xu Yanfeng nodded slightly.
The assistant opened the door of the tea room and invited him in.
Xu Yanfeng walked into the tea room. Besides Xu Guanshan, there was also an elite man in a suit and tie. Xu Yanfeng had a good memory and at a glance, he recognized him as the lawyer who had handled Xu Guanshan's personal affairs. His surname was Yuan.
Xu Guanshan gestured to the person opposite him: "Sit down."
Xu Yanfeng unbuttoned a button on his suit with one hand and sat down on the chair.
Xu Guanshan picked up the teapot and poured him tea, then mentioned casually: "I met Xia Xi twice, both times here." Now that the conversation had come out, he no longer avoided the topic.
Xu Yanfeng looked around carefully, and his mind naturally formed the scene of Xia Xi negotiating face to face with Xu Guanshan alone, how helpless and desperate he must have been. His face unconsciously revealed a coldness.
