"You're not old at all. You're still the same as before," Xia Xi said.
Uncle Cao had a kind face and a smile that resembled the Maitreya Buddha: "My granddaughter is already in elementary school, how can I not be old? By the way, you came back this time..." Before Xia Xi could answer, he seemed to suddenly remember, "Oh, yes, it's the old lady's death anniversary."
He restrained his smile, and his expression became a little sentimental, especially after he glanced at the Pei Shan Hotel. The nostalgia and regret in his eyes almost overflowed: "Time flies so fast. The hotel has been gone for many years. It seems like it was a lifetime ago."
"Are you retired now?"
"I saved some money and opened a breakfast shop, but business is not doing well. I've been thinking about closing it down lately," said Uncle Cao. "I passed on my cooking skills to my son. He now works in the kitchen of a restaurant, so he's inherited my legacy."
Xia Xi nodded: "I have a deep memory of your cooking skills. Why don't you just open a small restaurant?"
Uncle Cao waved his hand and pointed at his forehead: "I don't have that kind of business acumen. You girl, you think everyone is your grandmother. I can't even read." He glanced at the tall and handsome man next to Xia Xi. He was not a stranger to him at all. He smiled at him and started chatting with Xia Xi again. "I have a deep impression of your boyfriend. When you were in college, he came to the restaurant. You even greeted the people in the restaurant and asked us to call him uncle. Now he is a real uncle."
Xu Yanfeng curled up the corners of his lips and smiled meaningfully.
Xia Xi blushed. When she was young, she was very thick-skinned and dared to say anything.

Su Jinru ran into an old friend who invited her to stay in Ganlin for a few more days to catch up with her friends. The others returned to South City and their lives got back on track.
Xu Yanfeng was busy until late when he got home. When he opened the door, Xia Xi's smiling face greeted him. She was standing just inside the door, with a slightly strange smile on her face. Xu Yanfeng smiled inexplicably as well: "You... have something to tell me?"
Xia Xi cleared his throat and tried to put on a serious expression: "Xu Yanfeng."
"Um?"
"husband."
"Um?"
"I spent a fortune today."
"Really?" Xu Yanfeng didn't care much about what she spent the money on and took off his coat slowly.
Xia Xi took the coat from his hand and hung it on the hanger, announcing, "I bought back the Pei Shan Hotel."
Xu Yanfeng paused, then untied his tie: "So you bought it."
Xia Xi was confused: "What do you mean?"
Xu Yanfeng held her face in his hands, stared into her eyes, and couldn't help but kissed her. "That's why they say couples have telepathy. I sent someone to handle this matter this afternoon, but was told it had already been sold and the contract had been signed. I thought I was a step too late and was thinking about finding out who the buyer was and whether they were willing to sell it. It turned out to be my wife."
After hearing this, Xia Xi's eyes lit up. She didn't expect there would be such a thing.
"My mother happened to be working in the forest, so I asked her to handle the paperwork."
She also said that she had long thought about saving enough money to buy back the Pei Shan Hotel. It was her grandmother's life's work, a regret she left behind before her death, and a source of worry for Su Jinru. Unfortunately, the previous owner, perhaps sensing her determination, kept raising the price. Not wanting to be taken advantage of, she could only wait patiently for her chance. Later, to repay the money Xu Guanshan had given her, she spent so much that her savings were insufficient, and she even borrowed money from Zhou Du. Over time, the plan was put on hold, but she never forgot it.
This time when she went back to Ganlin to pay homage to her grandmother, she happened to encounter a shop that needed to be transferred urgently. She became interested, immediately memorized the boss's phone number, and started to work on it.
"I asked my eldest sister, and she still prefers working in a restaurant," Xia Xi said. "She used to help my grandmother and mother run their own restaurant and is very familiar with the business side of things. She thought it would be better to reopen the Pei Shan Hotel than to work for someone else. When she heard this, she was speechless for a long time and was so excited that she almost cried."
Xu Yanfeng: "Very good."
"I'll find time to draw the design later and renovate it, ideally restoring the hotel to its original appearance. Our Pei Shan Hotel has been operating for so many years, relying not only on word of mouth but also on sentiment." Xia Xi's eyes lit up when he spoke of this. "This should be the easiest design I've ever drawn. I just need to recreate it according to my memory."
Xu Yanfeng looked at her and could feel her happiness and satisfaction, and he was also very happy.
Xia Xi hugged him and smiled at him, "I'm sorry, I forgot to discuss this with you before buying the restaurant. I was in a hurry."
"What's the big deal?" Xu Yanfeng grabbed her waist and pressed her tighter against his chest. "Do whatever you want, spend money as you like. I'll support you, so don't worry."
Xia Xi dragged out: "You are fine."
"...Don't act like a spoiled child now." Xu Yanfeng glanced at the living room, rubbed her waist with his fingers, and suddenly lowered his voice, "Stop acting like a spoiled child later, my dear."

Walking the dog after dinner is a daily routine.
A family of three, along with a half-grown Alaskan dog, walked out of the villa and strolled in the cold wind. The temperature in South City was very low today, so the dog put on some clothes.
The leash was in Ziheng's hand, and he was running in front, jumping and leading the dog.
Xu Yanfeng took Xia Xi's hand and caught up with Ziheng in three or two strides, then put the hood of his down jacket on his head.
Suddenly, something cold fell on his forehead. Xia Xi raised his hand, rubbed it with his fingertips, then tilted his neck to look at the sky. Small ice crystals hit his skin.
"Xu Yanfeng, it seems to be snowing."
