Chapter 81 There is no chance of falling in love

It has been more than half a month since the beginning of autumn, but the temperature has not shown any sign of dropping. I can't feel the breath of autumn. As soon as I go outdoors, the sweat sticks to my skin like leeches. After I wipe it off, it becomes sticky again after a while.

Xia Xi was too lazy to put on makeup, so after changing her clothes, she put on a pair of plain glasses with tortoiseshell frames as a decoration to cover up her face a little.

To get to the barbecue restaurant, one had to pass by Nanjing University, so Xia Xi waited for the other two at the school gate. After standing for a while, she felt thirsty, so she went to the supermarket across the street and bought a bottle of iced orange soda. She asked the boss to help her pry open the bottle cap, asked for a straw, and put it in her mouth while drinking.

It was lunchtime, and many students, like Xia Xi, arrived at school early. They came out to look for food and saw such a beautiful scenery from afar. They were attracted by it and couldn't help but look at it.

When they passed by her, they would turn back to look at her several times and whisper to their companions. Some were brave enough to raise their phones to take pictures of her.

Xia Xi was dressed simply, in a turmeric tank top and white casual trousers. It was too hot to wear a sun-protection jacket, so she took it off and tied it around her waist. She put earphones in her ears and listened to music, with two white headphone wires hanging in front of her.

She didn't care about other people's gazes at all, or perhaps she was used to it.

A bus was approaching slowly. Nanjing University was one of the stops. When the bus arrived, Xia Xi looked up with a premonition. In the bus, Liang Yuan waved at her while holding the hanging ring with one hand, then let go of the ring, got off the bus with other passengers, and ran to her.

Xia Xi took off one of her headphones and glanced behind her: "Why are you alone? Where's Zhou Du?"

Liang Yuan's expression was speechless: "I don't know what's so stinky about beauty. I ran to the barber shop to get a haircut. I was afraid you couldn't wait, so he asked me to come over and meet you first."

Xia Xi: "Should we go to the barbecue restaurant first, or wait for him?"

"It's so hot, let's go to the barbecue restaurant first." Liang Yuan rudely snatched her unfinished orange soda, finished it in two gulps, and burped. "If you go too late, you'll have to wait in line."

The two waited in the barbecue restaurant for half an hour, and Zhou Du finally arrived. He didn't completely cut off his long hair that he had grown during the summer vacation. He only shaved the sides of his head and the back of his neck, leaving a tuft on his forehead. He still tied a bun with a rubber band and strode over. Many girls were looking at him.

Liang Yuan saw him from a distance, sipped the free iced sour plum soup from the store, and said with disdain, "I can't appreciate his hair. He looks like a combination of a Taoist priest and a monk."

"puff--"

Xia Xi was successfully choked.

Zhou Du pulled a chair out from the table and sat down: "From the looks on your faces, I can tell you're not saying anything good about me."

"We both ordered, except for you." Xia Xi put the menu in front of Zhou Du and changed the subject.

Her seat was facing away from the door, so she didn't notice a group of four people coming in and sitting three tables away from her. One of them was the Xu Yanfeng she had been thinking about.
