The morning passed quickly. Near noon, a nanny came to the villa and asked Xu Yanfeng what he wanted to eat for lunch.
Xia Xi took a shower in the bathroom of a room on the first floor and changed into the same clothes she wore when she came in. When she came out, she just heard Xu Yanfeng reading out the names of dishes to the nanny. They were all her favorite dishes.
Xu Yanfeng saw Xia Xi approaching. She was tucking her hair behind her head with both hands, the loose sleeves of her striped shirt sliding down to her elbows. He paused for a moment, and to be on the safe side, he asked her, "What else do you want to eat?"
Xia Xi had her hair tied up in a bun, with a few strands of hair falling down her cheeks, which she tucked behind her ears. Hearing this, she shook her head, saying she didn't want to eat anything. After a two-second pause, she nodded and said, "I want to drink porridge."
Xu Yanfeng was slightly stunned: "Porridge?"
Xia Xi looked at him and said with certainty, "Yes, porridge."
After so many kisses in the pool, my mouth is tired and I don’t want to chew at all. I just want to drink porridge.
It was she who proposed a 200-meter race with Xu Yanfeng. Seeing she was about to lose, she quickly faked a leg cramp. Xu Yanfeng stopped and nervously looked at her. She smiled slyly and rushed over to hug him.
Outside the panoramic windows was a bright spring day, sunlight bathing the vibrant flowers and greenery in a scene of flourishing life. The empty indoor pool echoed with every movement, and the two of them kissed intermittently, tirelessly.
Of course, it was Xia Xi who took the initiative.
She is always so passionate and bold, like the bright sunshine outside the window.
Perhaps from soaking in the water for too long, Xia Xi's words came true. Her legs cramped, and she frowned in pain. Xu Yanfeng thought she was acting again, and she was so upset that she complained to him that the fable of "The Boy Who Cried Wolf" was real.
Xu Yanfeng finally believed her, carried her to the shore, covered her with a bath towel, squatted down, and held her calf in a gentlemanly manner, kneading it with his fingertips for a while, and asked her if she felt better...
Xia Xi recalled this scene and touched his ear, wondering if it was hot.
The nanny went to the kitchen to make lunch and saw some fresh shrimps and crabs in a white foam box, so she decided to make a seafood and vegetable porridge.
In the main hall, Xu Yanfeng took a cup to the water dispenser to drink water and asked Xia Xi: "Why do you want to drink porridge in the middle of the day?"
Xia Xi followed him, snatched the cup of warm water from his hand, drank most of it in one breath, tilted her head back and pouted her lips: "What do you think? My mouth hurts."
Xu Yanfeng coughed. Fortunately, he didn't drink the water, otherwise he would have choked. He looked away and looked at an oil painting on the wall. His voice was barely audible: "Who is to blame?"
Xia Xi chuckled: "Just blame me."
During lunch, Xia Xi didn't touch any other dishes and focused on eating the bowl of porridge in front of him.
The nanny is a good cook. The seafood porridge is fresh and delicious, even better than the ones sold in other stores. After Xia Xi finished one bowl, he ordered another one. Holding the white porcelain spoon, he sipped it slowly, one mouthful at a time, without chewing.
Xu Yanfeng pushed the plate of reduced-spiciness spicy chicken in front of her eyes and asked, "Do you want to eat it?"
The fried diced chicken thighs were stir-fried again, and they were dry and fragrant with a hint of spiciness. It used to be Xia Xi's favorite for bibimbap, but now it was hard to chew. Her cheeks hurt when she looked at it for a second. She shook her head and said, "I won't eat it." The next second she regretted her words and changed her mind, "Unless you feed me."
She thought Xu Yanfeng would ignore her, but he just froze for a moment, then picked up a piece of chicken, put it to her mouth, and asked again: "Do you want to eat it?"
Xia Xi pursed her lips and smiled, opened her mouth and ate it, covering half of her cheek and chewing slowly.
She really liked the way Xu Yanfeng compromised with her with a stern face. His face was clearly cold and serious, but his actions were gentle and indulgent.
It's deadly.
Xia Xi kicked off her slippers and scraped her toes against his calves. The contrast between his fair skin and the pure black trousers was striking and stimulating. She didn't notice it at all and raised her chin: "Feed another one."
Xu Yanfeng's expression remained unchanged, but his eyes darkened a little as he glanced at him with a warning.
Xia Xi was well aware of his outwardly aggressive but timid nature. Not only was she not intimidated, she kicked him even more brazenly: "It's okay to feed you once, but you're not happy with it twice? Is this the extent of your love for me?"
When Xu Yanfeng stared at her deeply, she would change her mind. She knew that he was not unwilling to feed her, but that his look was to remind her to restrain her actions and stop teasing him all the time.
Seeing his restrained expression, Xia Xi stopped teasing him and retracted her foot, stepping into her slippers. Then, another piece of diced chicken was passed to her mouth, and the hand holding the chopsticks was as smooth as jade. She paused, suppressed a smile, and opened her mouth to take it.
No one is more awkward than him.
But who made her love this one?
She began to worry about what to do during the holidays. The summer vacation was so long and she would miss him to death.
I wonder if I can find a part-time job in South City so that I have enough time to see him whenever I want.
*
Before the summer vacation, Xia Xi called home and mentioned the idea of finding a part-time job, but was rejected by Su Jinru.
Su Jinru already knew about her love affair; she told it herself.
Hearing her say that she would stay in South City during the holidays, Su Jinru immediately connected the two things together. Without exposing her, she simply said, "If you want to make money, you can work in our restaurant. I'll pay you a salary and give you a 30% bonus. Why stay alone in a place where you don't know anyone?"
"Dear mother, I have been studying in South City for three years. What is there that I am not familiar with?"
"If I say no, it's no."
"Mom, I want to be a great architect in the future. What's the point of working as a helper in a restaurant?"
Su Jinru hit the nail on the head: "So the part-time job you found in South City is related to construction?"
