"Ah?" Xia Xi turned around and looked at her with a paint brush in her hand.
"It's true." Feng Xiaolai raised his hand and swore to the sky, "I saw it with my own eyes."
She told Xia Xi the story of how she first ran into the girl introducing herself to Xu Yanfeng in the corridor. This was nothing special at first, but the glint in the girl's eyes, the subtle gesture of stroking her hair, and the deliberately suppressed sounds, any girl could see through it. She walked around the guesthouse and wanted to go to the terrace to get some fresh air when she ran into the girl again. She offered Xu Yanfeng a cup of homemade coffee. Xu Yanfeng refused, but she ignored him, put the coffee on the small round table next to him, sat down on another chair, and talked about the interesting things during military training. She also took a small cookie from the pocket of her shirt dress and gave it to him.
Feng Xiaolai witnessed all this, said nothing, quietly stepped back and returned to the room.
It’s unclear whether the girl was unaware that Xu Yanfeng had a girlfriend, or if she was doing it knowingly.
Xia Xi was stunned when he heard this, and flipped the brush between his fingertips.
Feng Xiaolai looked at Xia Xi's expression, unable to figure out what she was thinking, and asked, "Do you... not mind?" With her personality, she wouldn't tolerate a girl trying to steal her boyfriend.
"Thank you for telling me this." Xia Xi said pertinently, "Well, it's not that I don't mind, I'm just thinking more objectively. If Xu Yanfeng was really that easy to pursue, I wouldn't have gone to so much trouble in the first place."
Feng Xiaolai was startled, then burst out laughing. Realizing that he had laughed too loudly, he quickly covered his mouth and nodded heavily: "That makes a lot of sense."
Xia Xi put on her makeup and walked out of the room. There were some people gathered in the corridor outside, discussing setting up tents and camping on the top of the mountain, watching the stars and having a BBQ together at night. Just thinking about it made her happy.
Xu Yanfeng came behind Xia Xi at some point, grabbed her wrist and pulled it gently.
Xia Xi was caught off guard and startled slightly. He turned sideways and saw it was him, then relaxed. He leaned over and whispered, "Are you hungry?"
"Not bad." Xia Xi said, "I brought some snacks, I can eat when I'm hungry."
After the group finished their discussion, they came to ask Xu Yanfeng for instructions.
He had no objection, and everyone cheered and went back to their rooms to pack up. Ten minutes later, they carried bags of varying sizes and headed for the top of the mountain.
The small hill was easily conquered and everyone successfully reached the top. After a short rest, they began to work together to set up the tent.
Xia Xi tied up her hair, rolled up her sleeves, and hammered the ground nails with a hammer for a long time. She stood up to wipe the sweat off her face and wanted to drink some water. Suddenly, she saw a girl wearing Xu Yanfeng's coat, sitting on a moon chair to rest.
The girl had wavy hair, tied to one side with a leopard print hairband. Her makeup was not exaggerated, but just the right amount of delicate. She was holding a royal blue thermos cup in her hand, sipping it in small sips.
Xia Xi tilted her head, feeling both amused and confused. This must be the girl Feng Xiaolai was talking about.
