Chapter 191 There is only one room left

The mall's underground parking lot was packed, so Xu Yanfeng parked in an open-air parking space across the street. The sudden downpour was inconvenient, so he returned to the mall and bought a black umbrella. He told Xia Xi to wait there while he drove the car over.

Xia Xi sat on a public bench on the side of the supermarket entrance, with his back hunched, his elbows resting on his legs, his chin in his hands, looking at the tall figure holding a black umbrella and walking into the rain. His subconscious action was to take out his mobile phone, find a good angle, point the camera at him and take a picture.

Select Save to Encrypted Album.

This album was filled with photos of Xu Yanfeng, as well as photos of the two of them together. There were very few group photos, and 90% were Xu Yanfeng's personal photos, which she had collected one by one, saving for her to savor later.

The rain was falling so fast that an umbrella wasn't very effective. Xu Yanfeng's trouser legs were soaked, leaving a noticeable dark mark. He walked to the parking lot, sat sideways in, folded up his dripping umbrella, started the engine, and drove to the side of the road opposite the supermarket entrance. There was a roadblock a short distance away from Xia Xi, so the car couldn't get through.

Xu Yanfeng pushed open the car door, got out with an umbrella, and loaded the shopping items into the trunk in two trips.

The last time he went to pick up Xia Xi, he held the umbrella handle tightly with one hand and hugged her shoulders with the other, holding her whole body in his arms to prevent the wind and rain from touching her at all.

Xia Xi got into the car smoothly, feeling clean from head to toe, but Xu Yanfeng's sleeves were half wet and his shoulders were also stained with rain.

"The weather forecast is so deceptive. It's raining so hard and there's no advance warning." Xia Xi wiped the water droplets off his clothes with a tissue. Thinking of his companions rushing down the mountain in the rain, he sighed, "We're better off. They have to go back to the B&B in the rain."

Xu Yanfeng fastened her seat belt and used the navigation to search for nearby hotels.

Xia Xi's words came true. During the peak tourist season, prices at several nearby hotels had skyrocketed, yet they were still fully booked. Xia Xi said, feeling both amused and annoyed, "I was worried about them. At least they have a place to stay at night, while we don't know where to stay."

"I won't let you sleep on the street."

Xu Yanfeng chuckled, drove away and went directly to Xiting.

The outdoors was as dark as night, while the hotel lobby was as bright as day, like two different worlds. Compared to the previous hotels, this one was noticeably empty and deserted, a sense of quiet desertedness that also made it more magnificent.

Xia Xi followed Xu Yanfeng's steps and walked to the front desk, resting his arms on the cool marble countertop.

The two front desk staff members were wearing dark blue uniforms, with matching silk scarves tied around their necks. Their hair was neatly pulled back. They folded their hands in front of them, wore a standard smile, and spoke clearly and pleasantly: "Excuse me, may I help you?"

"Two rooms." Xu Yanfeng took out his ID card, pressed his finger on it and pushed it over.

Xia Xi winked at the receptionist, avoided Xu Yanfeng's sight, and quietly raised her index finger, making the number "1".

Out of caution, the front desk asked them, "Is it one room or two?"

Xu Yanfeng turned his head to look at Xia Xi beside him. Xia Xi quickly raised her hand, pretending to touch her nose, and glanced to the side, as if studying the potted plant next to her. Xu Yanfeng reluctantly reminded her: "ID card."

"Oh." Xia Xi slapped his forehead, took out his ID card from the interlayer of his bag and put it on.

The front desk clerk quickly opened two rooms, handed them two room cards, and kindly gave them directions: "Sixteenth floor, turn left after getting out of the elevator, there are two adjacent rooms."

Xu Yanfeng's sleeves and trouser legs were wet, and he couldn't wait to take a shower. He got the room card and walked to the elevator. Xia Xi was a beat slower, covering her mouth with her hand, and whispered to the front desk: "The gesture I just made means that you should say, sorry, we only have one room left."

The two receptionists: "..."

"Xia Xi?"

Xu Yanfeng pressed the up button of the elevator. Since the elevator stopped on the first floor, the door opened immediately. Just as he was about to step in, he found that Xia Xi was not around. He turned his head to look for her. She was still talking to the front desk in a mysterious manner.

Hearing his call, Xia Xi ran over, took his arm and walked into the elevator.

The two receptionists looked at each other and smiled knowingly, thinking that the beautiful girl was so funny.

Working in the hotel industry, I see a wide variety of guests every day, and it's not uncommon to see guys using tricks on girls. For example, they'll greet them in advance, give them some money, and promise to bring a girl over to book a room later, then tell them to lie and say there's only one left. This way, the guy can easily get the girl he likes to stay in the same room. Of course, they'll refuse this.

This is the first time I've seen a girl trick a boy...

Thinking of that boy's appearance, he was incredibly handsome. Because of his arrival, the already bright lobby seemed even brighter. When I took the room card, the hand I saw was well-proportioned and with long, slender fingers, it was definitely the hand of someone who had lived a life of luxury.

It's reasonable for girls to want to trick him.

The elevator went up and stopped on the 16th floor. The two walked out and turned left.

The corridor was covered with thick carpet, and her feet felt like they were stepping on clouds, deep and shallow, unable to find any solid ground. Xia Xi raised her eyes to glance at Xu Yanfeng. He was so serious, and there was no sign of evil in his thoughts. Why was her heartbeat so irregular, and her breathing sometimes light, sometimes heavy?

Maybe she lacks concentration.

Xu Yanfeng held two room cards in his hand and handed one to her. She dazedly grasped it without even glancing at it. Xu Yanfeng stopped in front of a room, swiped open the door, paused, and said to her softly, "Take a hot shower first. I'll take you to the restaurant for dinner later."

Xia Xi nodded obediently, but actually didn't hear what he said at all.

Xu Yanfeng pushed the door open, and the light strip in the room automatically lit up, illuminating a clean and luxurious world. He stepped inside, and Xia Xi followed him in a daze.
