Chapter 104 Ending

Chapter 104 Ending

Company front desk.

"Good morning, Mr. Wu!" The girl at the front desk said in a clear voice.

"Good morning." Wu Suowei, wearing a well-fitting suit, walked into the door of the company he founded with full of energy.

Looking at the busy employees in the office and everything in order, he couldn't help but smile.

Most of the bricks and tiles here were collected by him through his rebirth as a prophet and his extreme frugality.

Of course, he selectively ignored the key links that Chi Cheng secretly opened up and the huge amount of funds injected, and only regarded them as the investment that a "major shareholder" should have.

The secretary hurried over, a look of nervousness and excitement on her face. "Boss Wu, Boss Chi is here! He's waiting for you in your office! He's brought a few... guests who look quite important!"

Chi Cheng is here? And he brought guests with him?

Wu Suowei's heart skipped a beat! The "guests" that Chi Cheng brought must be either rich or noble!

Entertainment expenses! How much of his budget would one meal eat up?!

The pain in his flesh instantly overwhelmed the secret joy he felt at seeing Chi Cheng. He walked quickly towards his office.

Pushing open the door, Wu Suowei saw Chi Cheng sitting in the executive chair behind his desk, looking like the owner of the place. Three middle-aged men with extraordinary bearing sat on the sofa, chatting and laughing with Chi Cheng.

Seeing Wu Suowei come in, Chi Cheng's deep eyes immediately locked onto him. He didn't stand up, but simply extended his hand toward Wu Suowei, his voice filled with unquestionable intimacy and a sense of claiming sovereignty: "Come here."

In front of so many "financial backers," Wu Suowei felt a bit embarrassed. Trying to maintain his composure as a boss, he walked to the desk, tried to walk around it and stand to the side, pretending not to see the hand. "Boss Chi, how come you have time..."

Chi Cheng didn't give him any chance at all. The moment Wu Suowei approached, he stretched out his long arm and accurately grabbed Wu Suowei's wrist!

The force wasn't strong, but it held an unbreakable hold. Under the stunned gazes of Wu Suowei and the three guests, Chi Cheng exerted a little force, causing Wu Suowei to stumble and fall onto his lap!

"Chi Cheng!" Wu Suowei's face flushed instantly, shocked, ashamed, and angry! He struggled to stand up. What kind of a look was this? In front of the customers! He lowered his voice and shouted, "Let go! There are customers!"

Chi Cheng's arms were like iron hoops around Wu Suowei's waist, holding him firmly in his arms. He ignored Wu Suowei's struggles and shame, but lowered his head and pecked Wu Suowei's lips, which were slightly open due to astonishment, very naturally!

The action was so fast that Wu Suowei had no time to react! Then, he raised his head and looked at the three guests sitting on the sofa with somewhat subtle expressions. He introduced them in a calm tone: "My wife, Wu Suowei. She is also the boss of this company."

The tone of voice seemed to be saying something that was the most natural thing.

"Lover"?! Kissing in public?! Declaring sovereignty?!

Wu Suowei's head exploded! His face felt so hot it could fry an egg! He was filled with shame and anger!

In front of the customers! This madman! His image! His dignity! It's all gone!

What made him even more distressed was that after Chi Cheng's actions, these "big Buddhas" would definitely feel that they could not afford to neglect him. Today's reception had to be of the highest standard! His budget! His heart was bleeding!

Wu Suowei was so angry that he pinched Chi Cheng's thigh hard! Chi Cheng's muscles were so hard that he couldn't pinch them! He could only stare at him with a pair of eyes that were misty with shame and anger, and whispered a warning through gritted teeth: "Chi Cheng! You bastard! You pay for the entertainment!"

Chi Cheng was pinched, but he didn't frown. Instead, he looked at Wu Suowei, who looked embarrassed and angry, like a cat with its fur standing on end, and a hint of joy flashed across his eyes.

He patted Wu Suowei's waist soothingly, then turned to the guests and said, "I'll make arrangements for lunch, and Mr. Wu will decide the place. He knows more."

He directly gave the right to order food (and pay the bill?) to Wu Suowei, who was still feeling the pain.

While Wu Suowei was rapidly calculating the average price per person in the highest-standard restaurant in his mind, he also had to force a "decent" smile to deal with the inquiring gazes of several big men, and cursed Chi Cheng a thousand times in his heart.

When he inadvertently raised his eyes and saw Chi Cheng's hand around his waist, that possessive gesture, and the eyes of those guests that had obviously become more cautious and even a little envious (?)... a strange feeling of being marked, recognized, and declared as belonging by this powerful man in such a domineering way, quietly ran through his heart like a subtle electric current.

He felt the pain of spending the money, but he couldn't help but secretly and briefly curled the corners of his mouth at an angle where Chi Cheng couldn't see.

It had been a while since Chi Cheng had first led him in to feed the reptiles. Wu Suowei was still afraid of reptiles, especially the yellow dragon. Every time he went in, he needed Chi Cheng by his side, holding his hand, so that he could barely remain calm.

Chi Cheng was in the study, working on some paperwork. Wu Suowei finished reading a company report in the living room and stood up to stretch his legs. He unknowingly walked to the door leading to the reptile room in the basement. The familiar smell still made him uneasy, and his heartbeat quickened slightly.

He stood at the door, not fleeing immediately like he would have done before. He remembered the first time Chi Cheng led him in, how he trembled like a sieve; he remembered Chi Cheng's harsh whispers and firm embrace as he held him from behind and fed him; he remembered Chi Cheng's unconcerned declaration at the company... The fear still lingered in his heart, like a cold vine.

But another, more powerful emotion had quietly taken root and grown—was it habit? Dependence? Or… love? Wu Suowei couldn't tell.

He only knew that the madman who raised snakes had left an indelible mark on his heart with his twisted and fiery way.

He is terribly afraid of snakes.

But he was more afraid of... losing Chi Cheng, the man who would hold his hand, lead him to face his fears, and give him a twisted sense of "security."

He took a deep breath, as if making up his mind. He reached out and, without hesitation, grasped the cold doorknob. He turned around.

Chi Cheng had unknowingly reached the end of the corridor, his back against the wall. He remained silent, watching Wu Suowei's hand grip the doorknob. His eyes were still deep, filled with the obsession and possessiveness of control, but deep within them, Wu Suowei could already read a hint of focused warmth and... silent encouragement.

Their eyes met.

Wu Suowei clearly saw his own reflection in those eyes. He also saw the unique, crazy love that belonged only to him.

He suddenly calmed down. The fear was still there, but it no longer controlled him.

He turned his head, no longer looking at Chi Cheng. With force, he pushed open the heavy door. The cold, damp air rushed out again. He didn't flinch. He lifted his foot, actively and firmly, and stepped inside.

Chi Cheng stood up straight, watching the thin but resolute figure disappear through the door. A turbulent tide of dark emotions surged in his eyes, eventually transforming into a deep, almost pious satisfaction. He stretched out his long legs and took a few steps to the door.

Wu Suowei stood in the reptile room, his back to the door. His body was still a little stiff, but he wasn't trembling. He was trying to calm his breathing as he faced the cold vivariums.

Chi Cheng walked to Wu Suowei, without saying a word, but just stretched out his hand very naturally.

Wu Suowei did not look back.

He glanced sideways slightly, looking at the big, bony hand that Chi Cheng stretched out to his side.

He hesitated, just for a second.

Then, he raised his still cold hand and placed it gently in Chi Cheng's palm with a sense of settled belonging.

Chi Cheng immediately closed his fingers and held the hand tightly.

He tilted his head and looked at Wu Suowei's profile, which was still a little tense but no longer panicked. The corners of his mouth slowly curled up into a very faint but extremely real arc.

He did not say "Don't be afraid" because he knew the fear would not go away. He just clenched his hands and declared with his actions: I am here.

No matter what you face.

In the huge ecological box, the golden python Huanglong was quietly coiled, its cold vertical pupils reflecting the soft light in the room, like an unchanging sculpture.

It is still there, emitting a palpitating aura, but at this moment, it is just the background.

The real focus is the two tightly clasped hands and the two figures standing side by side - one is sinister and crazy, the other is stingy and sunny. Under the shadow of fear, they complete the acceptance of each other in their twisted but unique way.

Afraid of snakes? More afraid of losing you.
