Chapter 19: Chi Cheng dares to bully my apprentice?

Chapter 19: Chi Cheng dares to bully my apprentice?

Jiang Xiaoshuai was busy writing medical records, and the clinic was unusually quiet.

The door was pushed open. Without even looking up, he tapped his fingers on the keyboard and asked formulaically, "What are the symptoms?"

No response for a long time.

Jiang Xiaoshuai frowned and looked up impatiently.

My sight met a pair of eyes with a hint of amusement.

Guo Chengyu.

Jiang Xiaoshuai's mind buzzed.

The chaotic scenes from last night came flooding back like fragments.

His face suddenly flushed and his neck turned red. He lowered his head abruptly, his fingers tapping on the keyboard randomly, and a string of garbled characters appeared on the screen.

"You...what are you doing here?" His voice was a little tense, and he didn't dare to look at Guo Chengyu again.

Guo Chengyu didn't answer, but closed the door and walked over slowly.

The sound of leather shoes hitting the floor was so clear that it made Jiang Xiaoshuai's heart beat faster.

He walked straight to Jiang Xiaoshuai's desk and sat down on it, with one of his long legs casually raised and placed on the edge of the table.

The movements are as natural as if you were sitting on the sofa at home.

"Wu Suowei is not here, right?" Guo Chengyu spoke in a lazy voice, but his eyes were like hooks, sticking to Jiang Xiaoshuai's red ears.

Jiang Xiaoshuai felt inexplicably blocked in his heart.

Are you here just to find Dawei?

He scratched the edge of the keyboard with his fingers and replied stiffly: "...What do you want to do with Dawei?"

Guo Chengyu chuckled softly and leaned forward slightly, moving closer. His breath almost brushed Jiang Xiaoshuai's face. "I'm looking for him? I'm afraid he'll disturb us again like yesterday. Of course, I'm here to see a doctor."

see a doctor?

Jiang Xiaoshuai cursed in his heart.

I'd never trust you!

He stiffened his neck, trying to maintain his professional demeanor as a doctor: "...Tell me, what are the symptoms?"

Guo Chengyu's eyes deepened, the corners of his mouth curled up, and his voice lowered, with a hint of ambiguity and hoarseness: "Of course..."

“Squeak—”

The clinic door was pushed open again, and the sound interrupted Guo Chengyu's unfinished words.

Wu Suowei walked in with his head hung and dragging his feet. He looked listless and gave off an aura of "I'm very depressed".

Guo Chengyu frowned and muttered softly, "Tsk, why are you back again... Didn't Chi Cheng already agree..."

Jiang Xiaoshuai's attention was immediately drawn to Wu Suowei, and he no longer cared about Guo Chengyu. He asked in surprise, "Dawei? Why are you back so early? Didn't you go to the audition?"

Wu Suowei nodded listlessly without even raising his eyelids.

He felt tired and his heart was heavy.

"What's wrong?" Jiang Xiaoshuai pushed his chair aside and stood up, walking around the desk. "Didn't you pass the audition? Didn't Chi Cheng find it for you..."

Wu Suowei sniffed and said in a muffled voice, "It's over. It's okay."

He finally raised his head and saw Guo Chengyu sitting on Jiang Xiaoshuai's desk with an arrogant attitude.

Wu Suowei's eyes flickered, then he lowered them and gave Jiang Xiaoshuai a smile that was uglier than crying: "It's okay... Master... you... go ahead and do your thing. I'm fine."

After saying that, he didn't even look at Guo Chengyu. He just lowered his head, pushed open the door of the inner room of the clinic, went in, and closed the door gently.

Jiang Xiaoshuai looked at the closed door, his brows furrowed.

Something is wrong. Something is very wrong.

Dawei's state was even more dejected than being dumped by Yue Yue in the street.

"You care so much about other men in front of me?" Guo Chengyu's voice came from behind him with a chilling tone, with obvious dissatisfaction.

Jiang Xiaoshuai was getting annoyed, and turned around and said in a displeased tone, "Stop it!"

He stroked his chin and stared at the door to the inner room. "Could it be that Chi Cheng bullied him?"

The thought made his heart tighten.

Guo Chengyu leaned against the table, tapping his fingers on it intermittently. He raised an eyebrow and said in a long tone, "Hmm... I can't say for sure."

"What?!" Jiang Xiaoshuai turned around abruptly, his voice rising, "Chi Cheng dared to bully my apprentice?!"

He started to protect his child.

Guo Chengyu narrowed his eyes slightly, accurately grasping the key words: "Why do you say he is your apprentice?"

I don't think I've ever seen Wu Suowei studying medicine...

He asked slowly, his eyes sharply examining Jiang Xiaoshuai's instantly frozen expression.

Jiang Xiaoshuai's heart skipped a beat, and then he became confused again.

hiss……

Yes, why...

It was as if Wu Suowei suddenly called him Master, and he thought Wu Suowei was playing some joke that he didn't know, so he just responded.

His eyes wandered as he looked at Guo Chengyu, who had unknowingly come so close. The heat on his face, which had just subsided, burned up again. He coughed twice, pretending to be calm: "Ahem... It's nothing! I'll go see Dawei!"

Jiang Xiaoshuai raised his foot and wanted to slip into the inner room.

"Hey, hey, hey," Guo Chengyu stretched out his long arm, easily hooked Jiang Xiaoshuai's arm, and pulled him back. "Doctor Jiang, what about me?"

He pointed at himself, looking ignored, but with a playful look in his eyes, "I haven't even seen my 'illness' yet."

Jiang Xiaoshuai was pulled by him and struggled twice but failed to break free. He was anxious and annoyed. His eyes rolled around and he caught a glimpse of the solid small wooden fish on the desk that he usually used to relieve stress.

He picked it up and stuffed it into Guo Chengyu's arms, saying perfunctorily as if coaxing a child, "Be good, play by yourself for a while! I'll be right out!"

After saying that, he pulled his arm back forcefully, rushed into the inner room without looking back, and slammed the door shut.

Guo Chengyu was holding a hard little wooden fish in his arms. He was stunned for two seconds, looking at the closed door, then looking down at the thing in his hand.

He laughed out of anger.

What is this? Sending away beggars?

He sneered and simply sat down on Jiang Xiaoshuai's desk, his back against the filing cabinet, his long legs crossed on the table, his posture relaxed and arrogant.

He weighed the wooden fish in his hand, then picked up the small wooden hammer next to it and started knocking it intermittently.

Knock…knock…knock…

Merit +1...

Merit +1...

The voice was neither hurried nor slow, and was particularly clear in the quiet clinic.

Little doctor, the monk can run away but the temple cannot.

See how long you can hide.

The light in the inner room was a little dim because the main lights were not on.

Wu Suowei buried himself in the quilt, curled up like a wounded animal.

Jiang Xiaoshuai walked over, sat down on the edge of the bed, and poked the blanket with his hand: "What's wrong with you? You look like an eggplant hit by frost. Even when you broke up with Yue Yue, you didn't look so depressed."

He tried to keep his tone light and tried to comfort Wu Suowei.

The quilt moved a little, and a muffled voice came: "It's okay."

"Nothing?" Jiang Xiaoshuai didn't believe it and directly lifted the corner of the quilt covering his head, "Did Chi Cheng bully you?"

This is what he is most worried about.

After all, Chi Cheng doesn't look like someone who is easy to mess with.

Wu Suowei revealed his messy hair and half of his face, his eyes a little empty, and shook his head: "What can he do to me?"

The voice was dry.

Chi Cheng didn't bully him, at least not now.

It was him, his heart was as messy as a ball of wool that had been scratched by a cat.

"Then you..." Jiang Xiaoshuai hesitated, "Do you still want to accept the script for that short play? I can see that you're not in good shape."

When it comes to money, a glimmer of light finally appeared in Wu Suowei's empty eyes.

He sat up suddenly, a little dizzy from the quick movement. "Answer it! Why not?"

His tone was firm, with an almost stubborn insistence, "Why would I go against money?"

Making money, saving money, making himself stronger and staying away from danger, this is his only belief after his rebirth and the source of his sense of security.

Can't be disrupted by anything.
