Chapter 34 I'll Die for You to See

Chapter 34 I'll Die for You to See

Wu Suowei's cheeks were so hot that they could fry an egg, and his heart was beating wildly in his chest, banging against his ribs and hurting him.

He wanted to retort, wanted to jump up and down, wanted to scold Chi Cheng for being so self-indulgent, but when he opened his mouth, his throat felt like it was stuffed with cotton and he couldn't utter a single word.

No! I can't let him lead me by the nose!

Alarm bells rang in Wu Suowei's mind.

He suddenly turned his face away, avoiding Chi Cheng's breath that almost burned his skin, and his eyes glanced around in panic, trying to find help from Jiang Xiaoshuai, the unreliable "military advisor".

"Um...Where's Jiang Xiaoshuai?" Wu Suowei's voice was dry and tense, with obvious panic. "He...he said he wanted to go to the bathroom! Why hasn't he come back yet?!"

He deliberately raised his voice, hoping that Jiang Xiaoshuai outside could hear him and quickly find a way to get him out of this embarrassing and dangerous situation.

Chi Cheng looked at him, who was obviously extremely nervous but trying to pretend to be calm, and the playful curve at the corner of his mouth deepened.

He didn't move, still maintaining an extremely oppressive distance, his eyes always glued to Wu Suowei.

At the entrance of the stairwell, the fire door was quietly pushed open a tiny crack.

An eye was glued to it stealthily, it was Jiang Xiaoshuai.

He was watching with great interest when he suddenly heard Wu Suowei call his name and talk about going to the toilet, which made his heart skip a beat.

Almost at the same time, half a head popped out from the door on the other side. It was Yue Yue.

She had just seen the ambiguous atmosphere between Chi Cheng and Wu Suowei, and was now hiding behind the door to watch.

"Cough! Cough cough!"

Jiang Xiaoshuai coughed violently twice, pushed the fire door completely open, and put on a veiled smile: "Ahaha! Dawei, you looking for me? I'm back! The restroom in this mall is so hard to find! Eh? Miss Yue? You're here too?"

Yue Yue was caught, a trace of embarrassment flashed across her face, but she immediately forced a smile, straightened her hair, and pretended to be natural: "Yeah, it's a bit stuffy in there, I came out to get some fresh air."

She glanced between Chi Cheng and Wu Suowei with complicated eyes, especially the way Chi Cheng's attention was obviously focused on Wu Suowei, which made her extremely happy.

"Oh, well," Jiang Xiaoshuai said quickly, his eyes rolling. "I suddenly remembered! I've got an old classmate meeting at the coffee shop downstairs! It's almost time! Dawei, you guys take your time chatting! Miss Yue, do you want to come with me? I want to go shopping too!"

He winked at Yue Yue as he spoke.

Yue Yue immediately understood.

"Okay, I also want to go and see that newly opened jewelry store." After she said that, she very "considerately" reached out and closed the heavy fire door that Wu Suwei had pushed open... with a clang.

"Hey! Jiang Xiaoshuai! You..." Wu Suowei watched the door that blocked out the outside light being closed. His last bit of hope was shattered and he almost fainted.

Jiang Xiaoshuai, you traitor! Are you just going to sell me out like that?!

"Heh..." Chi Cheng let out a very light chuckle, which was particularly clear in the relatively quiet stairwell.

He seemed to feel better as he looked at Wu Suowei's face, which collapsed in an instant and was filled with the words "it's over" and "abandoned by the whole world".

Now, there were only two of them in the dim stairwell.

The air seemed to be frozen, carrying the smell of dust and the strong and cold aura of Chi Cheng.

Wu Suowei felt like a small animal forced into a corner by a ferocious beast, with his back pressed tightly against the cold fire door, with nowhere to retreat.

His mind was a mess.

What is going on?

Where is Guo Chengyu?

Is Jiang Xiaoshuai’s claim that “Guo Chengyu was abused” true or false?

What is going on between Yue Yue and Chi Cheng?

Chi Cheng's current attitude...does he really think that I am interested in him?

Or is it just for fun to amuse yourself?

Chi Cheng looked at him with a wandering look in his eyes, obviously daydreaming, and narrowed his eyes in displeasure.

In front of him, how dare you think of anything else?

"What are you thinking about?" Chi Cheng's voice lowered a few degrees, with a subtle hint of danger.

He raised his hand, and his fingertips, with scorching heat, gently brushed Wu Suowei's burning cheek, causing Wu Suowei to tremble all over and come back to his senses in an instant.

"No... I didn't think anything!" Wu Suowei turned his head away as if he was scalded, and his heart beat faster.

Chi Cheng obviously didn't intend to let him go.

The hand did not retract, but instead slid to his chin, gently turning Wu Suowei's turned face back and forcing him to look at himself.

Their eyes met.

Wu Suowei was so flustered by his gaze that his breathing became irregular.

He wanted to break free, but Chi Cheng's hands were like iron clamps and he couldn't move them at all.

"What are you hiding from?" Chi Cheng's thumb slowly stroked the smooth skin of his jaw. His voice was as low as the whisper of lovers, but with a sense of control. "Weren't you... quite brave just now?"

What he was referring to, of course, was Wu Suowei's "feat" of pushing the door open.

Wu Suowei's legs went weak from his touch, and a familiar, panic-inducing heat surged through his body.

No! This can't happen!

If this continues...

"Chi Cheng! You...you let me go..." Wu Suowei's voice was trembling and he pretended to be calm. "I'm warning you! If you do this again...I...I will..."

He was speechless for a moment, unable to think of any harsh words that could threaten this madman.

Chi Cheng seemed to be pleased by his appearance.

Not only did he not let go, but he moved closer, with his nose almost touching Wu Suowei's nose.

The warm breaths blended together, carrying the faint smell of tobacco from Chi Cheng and a unique cold breath.

"So what?" Chi Cheng's voice was filled with teasing and...expectation?

Wu Suowei got so excited that he blurted out an extremely effective "threat": "I'll die in front of you!"

He regretted it the moment he said it. What kind of clichéd line is this?!

But when he looked into Chi Cheng's bottomless eyes and remembered that he had actually "died" once in his previous life, his words were filled with a bit of real grief and despair.

Chi Cheng's action of stroking his chin suddenly stopped.

Wu Suowei clearly saw that the two flames in Chi Cheng's eyes seemed to shake violently, and an extremely complex and indescribable emotion quickly passed through him.

It felt like being pricked unexpectedly, or like some deep-buried fear was instantly awakened.

Days without Wu Suowei... That thought flashed through his mind for just a moment, and it brought with it a suffocating feeling that made his heart shrink.

The strong possessive desire disappeared instantly when he saw the true determination in Wu Suowei's eyes.

He wanted this person, wanted him madly, but he definitely didn't want to get a cold corpse in this way.

The dark color surging in Chi Cheng's eyes slowly settled, replaced by a more suppressed desire.

He did not press further, but he did not let Wu Suowei go either.

He lowered his head, and his target was no longer Wu Suwei's dodged lips, but gently pressed on his forehead.

It was a kiss that could not be refused, yet had a hint of comfort.

Wu Suowei's whole body froze and his mind went blank.

The warm touch on his forehead hit him like an electric current.

The expected storm did not come. Instead, this kiss with a hint of... cherishment made him even more at a loss. It was as if the little strength to resist in his heart was drained away.

Then, Chi Cheng's powerful arms suddenly tightened, and he hugged Wu Suowei, whose body was stiff and whose mind was still in a state of panic, tightly in his arms.

Wu Suowei's face was forced to be buried in Chi Cheng's solid and warm chest, and his nose was instantly filled with the dizzying masculine scent of him.

He could clearly hear the steady and powerful heartbeat in Chi Cheng's chest, which made his eardrums numb and his own heartbeat became disordered.

"What a vexing goblin."

Chi Cheng's low and hoarse voice came from above his head, and his warm breath brushed through his hair.

Wu Suowei was almost unable to breathe due to his hug, and his face was so hot that it could boil an egg.

An annoying goblin? Who are you talking about?!

He struggled to raise his head to refute, his voice muffled in Chi Cheng's chest, muffled and filled with shame and anger: "I didn't..."

"No?" Chi Cheng chuckled, tightening his arms around him. He rested his chin on Wu Suowei's head, rubbing it gently. "Then why did you follow me all the way here? Hmm?"

His tone was filled with a knowing smile, "It can't be true... that you and that young doctor Jiang Xiaoshuai are so affectionate and inseparable, right?"

"Sweetheart?" Wu Suowei's face turned even hotter after hearing what he said. He subconsciously wanted to refute, but he didn't know how to explain.

His mind was in a mess. Jiang Xiaoshuai's instructions, Guo Chengyu's whereabouts, Chi Cheng's ambiguity, and the unexpected kiss and hug just now...all kinds of thoughts were mixed together.

Chi Cheng is in too much danger. He can't go on like this, otherwise what will happen to his grand plan?

When Chi Cheng asked him this, he almost blurted out, with a bit of a broken jar of anger and a cover-up: "Yes... yes, so what?!"
