Chapter 48 I'm Your Man
The hot breath sprayed on his face, with a faint smell of alcohol and the scent of Chi Cheng.
Wu Suowei was forced to raise his head, his chin was pinched so hard that it hurt, and his gaze met Chi Cheng's bottomless eyes.
The things rolling inside were so complicated and heavy that they seemed to be dragging him in and drowning him.
Why...why do you still force me like this?
In the script, Xiaoyu should beg for mercy and say "I was wrong, I was wrong, I was wrong."
Wu Suowei's lips were trembling, and the word "wrong" was stuck in his throat and he couldn't spit it out.
He looked at Chi Cheng's chin, which was so close to him, and at the dark shadow under his eyes. Jiang Xiaoshuai's words flashed through his mind - "He killed Huang Long... right after you..."
A huge, inexplicable feeling of sourness suddenly rushed into my nose, and my eyes became hot instantly.
He killed it... for me? Then did he... also...
The resentment was still burning, but a crack had appeared underneath, revealing a damnable hesitation that even he himself despised.
Chi Cheng looked at Wu Suowei's eyes that instantly turned red and his lips that trembled slightly, and his forced ferocity instantly collapsed.
He almost immediately released the hand that was holding Wu Suowei's chin, but his force was a little hasty.
Chi Cheng's Adam's apple rolled with difficulty as he looked at Wu Suowei's moist and red eyes. The line came to his lips, but it turned into a lower, more broken voice that belonged entirely to him.
"Don't look at me like that..." His voice was so soft it sounded like a sigh, with an embarrassment that was almost pleading, "...please."
Wu Suowei's whole body trembled violently.
He had never heard such a low and fragility in Chi Cheng's voice.
He forgot to breathe, forgot to be angry, forgot to be afraid, and just stared at Chi Cheng blankly, looking at the pain and... fear that was surging and almost overflowing in those deep black eyes?
Is he afraid? What? Afraid of me...?
What? Shouldn't I be the one scared?
Hate him? Blame him?
But why does my heart hurt so much when I see him like this?
Why... can't help but want to raise my hand to touch the shadow under his eyes?
Wu Suowei, you're such a jerk! He lied to you! His snake killed you! How could you still... still...
A strong sense of self-loathing came over him, suffocating him more than anger.
In the script, Xiaoyu should ask, "Where did you learn all these words?"
Wu Suowei moved his lips, but no sound came out.
He just looked at Chi Cheng, his eyes empty and blank.
Chi Cheng felt flustered when he looked at him.
He suddenly tightened his arms, pushing Wu Suowei deeper into his arms, almost crushing him, and resting his chin heavily on the top of his head.
The burning body temperature was transmitted through the fabric, carrying a sense of desperate possession and desperation.
He doesn't care!
What a script! What a shot! He just wants to lock this person up!
The voice burst out hoarsely, with a desperate and unquestionable declaration.
"Don't know me? Then let's get to know each other again..." He lowered his head, his lips almost touching Wu Suowei's smooth forehead, and his hot breath burned Wu Suowei, "My name is Chi Cheng, remember, I am your man."
"You bastard..." Wu Suowei's face flushed red at his naked declaration and imprisonment. He no longer cared about the script and bent his elbow to slam back, "Let go!"
"Hmm..." Chi Cheng groaned, his chest hurting from the impact, but the strength in his hands did not decrease at all.
He looked at the person in his arms with red eyes, struggling hard. The aggrieved and stubborn look made his heart ache and swell.
Chi Cheng looked at the pair of eyes that were staring at him with tears in their eyes, and the apology came out of his mouth uncontrollably again. His voice was low, with deep regret and a hoarseness that was almost begging.
"I'm sorry... Weiwei... don't go..."
Don’t leave me…
Wu Suowei's mind went blank.
Chi Cheng's voice, wrapped in his scorching body temperature, broke through his shaky defenses.
Her body seemed to have been drained of strength, and she fell limp in Chi Cheng's arms, unable to even muster the thought of struggling.
With her cheek pressed against Chi Cheng's violently heaving chest, she could clearly hear his equally frantic heartbeat.
He hated Chi Cheng's approach, hated his own lack of self-control, and hated this damned, inescapable sense of fate.
Why...why can't I escape?
Why do I feel so... reluctant to move when he holds me?
The tears could no longer be controlled, bursting out of my eyes without warning and sliding down my cheeks hotly.
He bit his lower lip hard to prevent himself from crying out loud, but his body was shaking violently from trying so hard to hold back.
He stopped struggling, but stared at Chi Cheng's face so close to him with red eyes, a look that was a mixture of great grievance, anger and despair.
Chi Cheng was completely shocked by his surging tears and the despair in his eyes. His heart ached so much that he could hardly breathe.
He subconsciously loosened the grip of his fingers on Wu Suowei's wrist.
The moment he relaxed his grip, Wu Suowei suddenly pulled his hand back.
Wu Suowei! What the hell are you doing?!
You're dizzy just because he hugged you and said a few words to you?!
Have you forgotten how he lied to you?!
He struggled to break free from Chi Cheng's hot embrace, stumbling a bit as he moved so violently.
He lowered his head, not daring to look at Chi Cheng. He felt his face burning, but his heart was cold.
He bit his lower lip hard, tasting a hint of rust, and only then did he manage to suppress the sob in his throat.
He could feel Chi Cheng's gaze still on his back, making it hard for him to breathe.
I can't stay here any longer! Not even for a second!
Wu Suowei turned around suddenly and almost ran away, rushing towards the lounge with messy steps.
When passing by Chi Cheng, he kept his head down, leaving behind only a hurriedly fleeing back.
Chi Cheng's arms were pushed away, and his arms suddenly felt empty.
He looked at Wu Suowei with his head down, his shoulders slightly shrugging, and he raised his hand to quickly wipe his face. Then, without looking back, he staggered out of the glaring light and ran straight towards the lounge.
The back was thin, with a kind of fragility and stubbornness that came from being hurt.
"...Cut!" Brother Nian's voice sounded after several seconds, with a bit of confusion and uncertainty.
There was an eerie silence on the set.
Everyone was shocked by the intense and strange "rivalry" just now. The lighting technician forgot to turn off the lights, and the dazzling beam of light followed Wu Suowei's back as he disappeared at the door of the lounge.
Chi Cheng froze in place, maintaining the posture of being pushed aside.
He watched Wu Suowei rush into the lounge without looking back and close the door.
That thin door panel was like a natural moat.
The little bit of courage he had just forced himself to muster under the light was drained away in an instant.
He slowly raised his hand, and his fingertips seemed to still retain the touch of Wu Suowei's hair and... the damp coolness in the corners of his eyes.
He stared at the closed door, the darkness in his eyes darker and thicker than before.
The corners of his mouth were pressed into a stiff straight line.
It's like this again...
Or...scare him away...
