Chapter 50: Coaxing a child?

Chapter 50: Coaxing a child?

"Where are we going next?" Wu Suowei asked unhappily, just wanting to end this torturous "date" quickly.

Chi Cheng didn't say anything. His eyes swept across the roller coaster track not far away where screams were heard, then passed the gloomy entrance of the haunted house, and finally landed on a small ice cream cart.

He walked over.

Wu Suowei followed without knowing why.

Chi Cheng stopped in front of the ice cream truck, glanced at the colorful menu, and pointed at one of them: "This one, two scoops."

The vendor deftly scooped out two huge balls of ice cream, piled them on the cone, and handed them over.

Chi Cheng didn't take it, but raised his chin towards Wu Suowei and said, "Give it to him."

Wu Suowei was stunned when he saw the huge ice cream that was handed to him and was emitting a hint of cool air.

“…For me?”

"Yeah." Chi Cheng responded and handed the money to the vendor without asking for the extra money. "Here, melt it."

Wu Suowei looked at the ice cream that was about to drip down and subconsciously reached out to catch it.

A cool touch came from the fingertips, mixed with a sweet fragrance.

He was a little confused.

Buy me ice cream? Chi Cheng?

He looked at the ice cream in his hand, which was incompatible with his temperament and looked very expensive.

Involuntarily, a scene that seemed to be hidden deep in my memory emerged.

At that time, he and Chi Cheng were eating ice cream together.

It was also at that time that Chi Cheng kissed him.

Wu Suowei shook his head and glanced secretly at Chi Cheng beside him.

What does he mean?

Chi Cheng didn't buy anything himself, he just looked at him.

Wu Suowei felt uncomfortable being stared at by him, so he lowered his head and licked it.

The cool and sweet taste melts on the tip of the tongue, diluting the dryness in the throat.

He couldn't help but take another lick.

Hmm...it's quite delicious...

The sunlight fell on the top of his furry hair and the corners of his mouth which were stained with ice cream.

An unprecedented, warm feeling of satisfaction silently seeped into Chi Cheng's cold and hard heart.

That's how it should be.

Come closer, closer. I don’t need you to always look at me, as long as you don’t leave my sight.

Wu Suowei's hair brushed against Chi Cheng's cheek, so close.

Like a dragonfly skimming the water, a warmth flashed across Wu Suowei's lips, taking away the sweetness.

Wu Suowei suddenly stopped eating ice cream, staring at Chi Cheng's face so close to him with wide eyes, watching him lick the corner of his mouth, and then looking at the ice cream cone in his hand that was "invaded".

He...he ate my ice cream?!

No, he ate the ice cream from the corner of my mouth?

No... Damn!

An inexplicable heat rushed to the top of my head.

Just like back then.

"What are you doing!" Wu Suowei jumped back suddenly and almost hit the lamppost next to him.

He stared at Chi Cheng warily, his cheeks red as blood, "I'm warning you, no sneak attacks!"

Chi Cheng looked at his irritated expression, and the smile on his lips deepened, with a hint of evil satisfaction. "Your sweetness."

He spoke slowly, his eyes sweeping meaningfully across Wu Suowei's red ears.

"..." Wu Suowei was almost choked to death by his words.

Sweet as hell!

He turned around and walked away angrily, his steps so fast that it seemed as if a ghost was chasing him.

My heart was beating so fast that it seemed like it was going to burst my chest.

Psycho! Bastard!

Chi Cheng followed him slowly, looking at his exasperated back and red neck, the smile in his eyes was as warm as melting ice.

For the rest of the trip, Chi Cheng seemed to be doing things completely out of the ordinary.

He did not take Wu Suowei to any exciting activities, but instead seemed to be wandering aimlessly in the garden.

Seeing those glowing devil horn headbands being sold on the roadside, he stopped, picked one up, and naturally put it on Wu Suowei's head.

Wu Suowei was startled and took a step back: "What are you doing?!"

What a psycho!

Chi Cheng paused, holding the cheap red plastic headband in his hand.

He looked at Wu Suowei's wary eyes and didn't force it. He just put the headband back on the stall and said lightly: "It suits you very well."

Wu Suowei was so angry that his face turned red: "It suits your size!"

Childish! Boring!

Chi Cheng ignored his anger and continued walking forward.

Passing by the balloon-inflating stall, colorful plush toys were hung all over the walls.

Chi Cheng didn't stop walking, but Wu Suowei's eyes were involuntarily attracted by the ugly but cute doll at the top, which looked like a crocodile or a little jealous person with legs.

It's so big...it must be comfortable to hold it while sleeping...

He slowed down for a moment.

Chi Cheng seemed to have eyes on the back of his head and stopped.

He followed Wu Suowei's gaze and it landed on the doll.

He didn't ask Wu Suowei whether he wanted it or not. He walked straight to the stall, picked up the air gun, and loaded it skillfully.

"Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!"

There was a crisp gunshot and the balloon burst.

The stall owners were stunned.

Chi Cheng put down his gun and pointed at the largest doll on the wall: "That one."

The stall owner took off the crocodile doll that was almost as tall as a human with a painful look on his face and handed it to Chi Cheng.

Chi Cheng held the limp crocodile's tail in one hand, turned around and walked to Wu Suowei who was still in a daze. Without saying a word, he stuffed the crocodile into his arms.

The huge, furry touch instantly filled my arms, with the unique smell of a new toy.

Wu Suowei hugged it subconsciously, it felt heavy.

He looked down at the green guy in his arms with a big grin on his face, then looked at Chi Cheng's expressionless face, and his brain completely shut down.

Give it to me? Why?

"Here." Chi Cheng just said these two words, turned around and continued walking forward, as if he had just bought a bottle of water.

Wu Suowei stood there like a fool, holding the crocodile doll that was completely inconsistent with his perfect appearance.

The cool temperature of the ice cream is still on my fingertips, and the furry and heavy touch is in my arms.

Chi Cheng's swift movement when he fired the gun just now, and his gesture of not allowing rejection when he handed him the doll...

What on earth was he trying to do? To soothe the child?

But why…somewhere in my heart, as if pried open by this clumsy, forceful "coaxing"? That unsuppressed sour feeling surged up again.

He held the crocodile in his arms and followed Chi Cheng with heavy steps.

The setting sun stretched their shadows very long.

Chi Cheng was not walking fast, as if he was waiting for him.

Wu Suowei lowered his head, looking at the silly smiling face of the crocodile in his arms, and then at the tall and silent back of Chi Cheng in front of him.

The noisy amusement park seemed to be separated, leaving only the furry weight in his arms and the person in front of him who made him hate him so much and... his heart was in turmoil.

The huge Ferris wheel turned slowly, casting a long shadow in the sunset.

After playing for a day, Wu Suowei sat on a bench by the roadside, holding the ugly crocodile, staring at the Ferris wheel in the distance in a daze.

Chi Cheng sat next to him, separated by a doll's distance.

The air was very quiet, with only the faint sound of music coming from the distance.

The sweet scent of ice cream has not yet dissipated from the corner of my mouth, and the soft touch of the doll seems to still linger on my fingertips.

Wu Suowei looked at the gorgeous sunset in the sky, and the confusion in his heart that had been deliberately suppressed began to stir again.

Chi Cheng is... so abnormal today.

No coercion, no calculation, even... a little indulgence?

Take him on the carousel, win him a doll, buy him an ice cream...

Like... like a young boy who is trying to clumsily please his sweetheart?

This idea even made Wu Suowei himself feel absurd.

Chi Cheng? To please him?

But those details, those actions, actually happened.

His fingers holding the ugly crocodile tightened unconsciously.

Jiang Xiaoshuai's words, Huang Long's death, Chi Cheng's "I miss you", and the uncontrollable hug on the set...

All the images and sounds rushed wildly in his mind.

Hate him? Resent him? It seems... not so sharp anymore.

Are you afraid of him? It seems... not so pure anymore.
