Chapter 79 I Want to Rat

Chapter 79 I Want to Rat

Wu Suowei almost broke open the glass door of the clinic, creating a gust of wind.

There was still a blush on his face, his helmet was held in his hand carelessly, and his hair was messy and sticking up.

He collapsed on the bed in Jiang Xiaoshuai's clinic, gasping for breath as if he had just run five kilometers.

My heart is still beating wildly.

The warmth of Chi Cheng's fingertips brushing against his cheeks and ears.

He scratched his hair irritably and cursed under his breath: "Madman... psychopath..."

But no matter how much I cursed, that inexplicable feeling of heat could not be shaken off.

Jiang Xiaoshuai was writing medical records in front of the computer and was startled by Wu Suwei's noise.

He turned around and looked at his friend's embarrassed and ashamed look, then thought about the scene he saw on the construction site, and the corners of his mouth couldn't help but twitch.

"Hey, Dawei, are you being chased by a snake?" Jiang Xiaoshuai deliberately dragged out the tone with a mischievous look on his face.

Wu Suowei grabbed a nearby pillow and threw it at him: "Get lost! You're the one being chased by the snake!"

Jiang Xiaoshuai caught the pillow with a grin: "Come on, I think you're obsessed with Chi Cheng, and he's obsessed with you quite a lot." He moved closer, lowered his voice, and asked curiously, "Hey, seriously, that wall... that color... was it Chi Cheng who did it? The effect is really good! And then he... did he do anything to you..."

"Fuck me!" Wu Suowei sat up straight like a cat whose tail was stepped on, his voice rising. "He's just... just idle! He's bored! Meddling in other people's business!"

He argued incoherently, but his eyes were wandering around guiltily.

Jiang Xiaoshuai saw that he was trying to hide his true intentions and knew what was going on.

He was just about to make another joke when the door of the clinic was pushed open again.

Chi Cheng's tall figure appeared at the door, holding a plastic bag containing two bottles of iced mineral water and several boxes of Band-Aids.

His gaze swept across the furious Wu Suowei, and finally landed on Jiang Xiaoshuai. He said calmly, "He cut his hand."

Wu Suowei was stunned and subconsciously looked down at his hands.

Sure enough, there was a small cut on the base of his left hand at some point, and a little blood oozed out, mixed with dust and paint, looking dirty.

I was so flustered just now that I didn't notice it at all.

Chi Cheng...how did you see it?

Jiang Xiaoshuai also saw it and quickly stood up to get disinfectant and cotton swabs: "Tsk, what happened? Come over here and take care of it."

Wu Suowei didn't want to move, especially in front of Chi Cheng.

He sat awkwardly on the recliner: "It's just a minor injury, don't worry about it."

Chi Cheng didn't say anything and walked straight up to him.

He took the medicine box and placed it on the small table next to him, then took out an iodine swab and a Band-Aid.

Then he bent down and grabbed Wu Suowei's injured wrist without saying a word.

Wu Suowei's whole body stiffened!

Her wrist was held by Chi Cheng's warm, calloused hand. The force was not strong, but it was firm and left no room for escape.

He struggled a bit but couldn't break free.

"You...let me go! I can do it myself!"

Chi Cheng ignored him, unscrewed the cap of the medicine bottle, and let the cool water flow over Wu Suowei's wound, washing away the dust and blood stains.

The movements were not gentle, even a little rough, but very neat.

The water droplets splashed onto Wu Suowei's pants, leaving dark marks.

Wu Suowei hissed in pain and tried to pull his hand back, but Chi Cheng held it even tighter.

He looked at Chi Cheng's lowered brows and focused expression... as if he was wiping something precious.

It’s like this again... Chi Cheng always reveals a kind of "consideration" that is incompatible with his temperament at times like this.

When Jiang Xiaoshuai saw this scene, he stopped in his tracks.

This atmosphere... he seems a little redundant?

He hesitated whether to step forward.

Chi Cheng washed away the stain, revealing the wound, which was indeed not deep.

He picked up a piece of clean gauze from Jiang Xiaoshuai's plate and pressed it on the wound to absorb the water.

Then he took a cotton swab and dipped it in iodine.

The moment the cold brown liquid touched the wound, Wu Suowei couldn't help but shrink back.

Chi Cheng looked up at him, and their eyes met unexpectedly.

The distance was so close that Wu Suowei could even see Chi Cheng's distinct eyelashes and his own panicked face reflected deep in his pupils.

Chi Cheng looked at Wu Suowei's eyes which were slightly moist due to pain and tension, and his lips which were tightly pursed with a hint of stubbornness.

The evil desire to tease in my heart rose again.

He didn't move the hand holding the cotton swab, but lowered his body even more, almost covering Wu Suowei between himself and the recliner. His warm breath brushed Wu Suowei's hair, and his voice was so low that only the two of them could hear: "Does it hurt?"

Wu Suowei felt that the air around him was becoming thinner.

Chi Cheng's breath, the warmth of his chest, and the inquiring and playful eyes that were so close to him... were like an invisible net, trapping him tightly.

His heart was beating like a drum and his throat was dry. He wanted to curse, but was afraid that his voice would tremble as soon as he opened his mouth.

He could only stare at Chi Cheng, expressing his protest with his eyes.

Jiang Xiaoshuai was so embarrassed watching this that he almost got cancer.

He cleared his throat, trying to break the sticky and dangerous atmosphere: "Ahem...um...Chi Cheng, how about I do it?"

Chi Cheng seemed not to hear.

He took a cotton swab and very slowly applied a circle of iodine on Wu Suowei's wound.

The slow friction brought with it a slight stinging and an itchy feeling that made one's scalp tingle, and his eyes were always locked on Wu Suowei's increasingly red face.

"Bear with it." Chi Cheng's voice contained a hint of a smile.

He tore off the Band-Aid packaging and carefully and almost gently applied the small piece of adhesive tape to Wu Suowei's wound.

The fingertips inevitably brushed against the skin on the back of Wu Suwei's hand again.

Wu Suowei pulled his hand back suddenly as if he had been scalded.

This time Chi Cheng didn't use any more force.

Wu Suowei hid his hands behind his back, as if they were covered with poison. His face was so hot that it looked like smoking. His eyes looked around in panic, but he didn't dare to look at Chi Cheng again.

Chi Cheng stood up and looked at Wu Suowei, who looked like he wanted to dig a hole and crawl into it. He felt inexplicably good.

He picked up the unopened bottle of mineral water on the table, unscrewed it, and handed it to Wu Suowei: "Drink some water to calm your nerves."

Wu Suowei looked at the bottle of water, not knowing whether to take it or not.

Jiang Xiaoshuai quickly stepped forward, took it first, and stuffed it into Wu Suowei's hand: "Yes, yes, drink some water! Look at your red face, it's hot, right?"

Just then, Chi Cheng's cell phone rang.

He glanced at the caller ID and walked to the window to answer the call.

Someone seemed to say something on the other end of the phone, and Chi Cheng's eyes instantly turned cold, and the air pressure around him dropped several degrees.

He simply replied, "I understand. Detain the person." Then he hung up the phone.

Wu Suowei and Jiang Xiaoshuai both felt the chill.

Wu Suowei held the water and drank it in small sips, trying to cool down.

Jiang Xiaoshuai shrank his neck and pretended to tidy up the medicine cabinet.

Chi Cheng turned around, the coldness on his face had subsided, but his eyes were still sharp.

He looked at Wu Suowei and said, "We've investigated the paint issue. The supplier passed off inferior goods as good ones, swapped the color paste, and detained people. You have the final say on how to deal with this."

Wu Suowei was stunned.

Have you found out?

What has been investigated? And he still has the final say?

The shame and anger he felt at being teased was instantly replaced by a more complicated emotion.

Is it about renovation?

Chi Cheng...is he helping him? He opened his mouth, not knowing what to say.

In the end, he just said "Oh" dryly.

Chi Cheng didn't stay any longer because the phone call just now brought up something more important.

He glanced at Wu Suowei with a meaningful look, then nodded to Jiang Xiaoshuai, turned around and left the clinic.

The moment the door closed, Wu Suowei felt that he could breathe smoothly again.

He collapsed back into the recliner in frustration, covering his face and wailing, "Xiao Shuai! I'm going to die!"

Jiang Xiaoshuai came over, his face full of gossip and sympathy: "Brother, I think you... are in trouble. I have to change the paint, investigate the mastermind, and personally treat your wounds... Tsk tsk tsk, what a treatment..."

"Shut up!" Wu Suowei grabbed the pillow and covered his face with it again. His heart was in a mess.

But what Chi Cheng did today... made a corner of his heart collapse uncontrollably.

This feels awful!
