Chapter 35 The Witch's Secret

"No noise allowed!"

"Brother-in-law, my brother killed the sorceress!"

......

Outside the gate, the sounds of the guards arguing with Chen Ermei could be heard.

"Look! The sorceress's lover has revealed himself. So, Your Excellency, don't be hasty in the face of trouble. All causes and effects are within my grasp!"

"Awesome!"

"Let him in!"

Jiang Ming called to the soldiers outside, and Chen Ermei was able to push open the door and enter.

"Brother-in-law... my brother, leaning on his cane, came to the gate of my house and chopped the sorceress down!"

Chen Ermei's small mouth rattled off the story in a fluent and clear voice...

Today was market day in the county. Early in the morning, the virtuous Chen Damei took Murong Xue, who had been feeling down lately, and her sister-in-law Nanxiu to the county to play, leaving Ermei to look after the house.

She has a head injury and cannot be exposed to wind.

The second sister was half asleep when she heard strange noises coming from the woodshed, the sorceress groaning and moaning...

Although her older brother, Da Bao, beat her day and night, and the sorceress groaned, this time the groaning sounded rather strange, not like she was in pain... The second sister was curious, so she got up to go and see!

As soon as I entered the courtyard, I heard my brother scream from the woodshed!

Then, the sorceress darted out of the woodshed like an old mouse and rushed out of the courtyard gate!

The second sister didn't have time to stop him and rushed to check on her brother's injuries, only to find that Da Bao's head was covered in blood and he had already passed out!

My pants were somehow pulled down, and the scene was so indecent, it was almost unbearable to look at...

After all, blood is thicker than water, so the second sister quickly bandaged up Da Bao's wounds and treated them before going to find Jiang Ming.

Having learned that Jiang Ming had gone to his parents' home, the second sister rushed over here in a great hurry.

Even though he knew the sorceress was going to cause trouble, he arrived at the courtyard gate only to find he was too late...

The sorceress was throwing a tantrum and crying to the prefect, Ji Bochang!

Knowing she couldn't explain herself, the second sister barged into the living room, interrupting Jiang Ming and Zhao Yong's conversation...

Ji Bochang didn't pay much attention to the sorceress... and the matter was originally over.

Unexpectedly, half an hour later, Da Bao woke up.

He picked up a kitchen knife and went straight home...

He was quite clever; he directly said that he was Jiang Tingzhang's brother-in-law.

With this sign in place... even the county soldiers wouldn't dare to stop him!

After the sorceress had the midwife examine her, she hid in the shed in Da Bao's yard... Without saying a word, Chen Da Bao, leaning on his cane, went up and gave her two kitchen knives!

"Did you kill him?" Jiang Ming asked.

The second sister said, "I think... I don't think so yet. After all, my brother isn't very nimble, so I don't know..."

"Hahaha!" Ji Bochang clapped his hands and laughed, "Interesting! Interesting! Absolutely interesting!"

"Mr. Jiang, how come... your brother-in-law has such unusual tastes? He even went for that sorceress? Hahaha!"

Ji Bochang laughed so hard he could hardly breathe.

"Second sister, have two soldiers bring your brother in... then order someone to treat the sorceress, under no circumstances should she die," Jiang Ming instructed.

"Um!"

Chen Ermei frowned and nodded in confusion, then quickly went out.

“Mr. Jiang, your sister-in-law is quite pretty, but why is she injured on the head and has a bandage wrapped around it?” Ji Bochang said with a smile.

Seeing that lecherous look in her eyes, Jiang Ming laughed and said, "She's my concubine. Both sisters married me, and they can't seem to get used to calling me 'brother-in-law' all the time..."

"Oh, I see. Mr. Jiang is quite the lucky man!"

Where? Where?

"Oh, right."

Ji Bochang asked curiously, "This sorceress, since she shielded Mr. Jiang from bloodshed, why not just kill her? Why waste medicinal herbs..."

"Hehe..." Jiang Ming smiled faintly: "Why do I have other uses for her? I'm preparing to present her as a grand gift to the Prefect!"

"Oh? What kind of big gift?"

Upon hearing that there was a big gift to be won, Ji Bochang's eyes immediately lit up.

"Heavenly secrets cannot be revealed; please keep it confidential for now!"

"Haha! Okay, okay!"

......

As the two men were talking, Chen Dabao, covered in blood, limped into the living room, supported by two soldiers.

Upon seeing Jiang Ming and the Prefect, he struggled to kneel on the ground and kowtow repeatedly.

"This humble subject greets Your Excellency the Prefect and Lord Jiang..."

Chen Dabao was now trembling like a leaf, and dared not look up at Jiang Ming and Ji Bochang too much.

In fact, Jiang Ming understood... that Da Bao, a coward, was forced to do such a thing today.

Jiang Ming warned him that if the sorceress ran away, he should break his second and third legs! No hesitation!

Da Bao knew Jiang Ming was ruthless and heartless, and would definitely keep his word!

Now that I've caused such a huge mess, perhaps... only by killing the sorceress can I have a sliver of hope to atone for my sins!

When a fool is pushed to the limit, his mind goes blank, and it's not surprising that he might do something so extreme!

"Haha! Rise, you are Mr. Jiang's brother-in-law, please have a seat!"

Ji Bochang was quite generous, letting the two soldiers lift him up and help him sit in a chair.

Da Bao didn't dare to look the two adults in the eye, cowering and hanging her head, like a wronged little wife...
