Chapter 4 The Tiger-Slaying Hero

Over the next few days, Jiang Ming and Murong Xue's feelings for each other deepened, to the point that they couldn't bear to be apart for even a moment.

How could Jiang Ming bear to give away his woman?

Murong Xue tearfully expressed that she would rather die than let another man touch her. She did not want to be a political sacrifice and only wanted to be Jiang Ming's woman!

Jiang Ming made it clear to her that if she wanted to be his woman, she could only be his concubine, not his wife, because he was already engaged.

In addition, one must remain anonymous to avoid trouble.

Murong Xue readily agreed, saying that she would be content to be Jiang Ming's maid or servant, let alone a concubine!

Seeing how sensible she was, Jiang Ming felt relieved. So, after her ovulation period ended, he took her down the mountain.

The villagers were gathered together looking at the notice posted by the local magistrate, which belonged to the county magistrate.

"Now there is Jiang Ming, the tiger-slaying hero, who has rid the mountain of the vicious tiger..."

"My God! He was rewarded with 300 strings of cash, and... and he even became the head of the village, specifically in charge of maintaining order in our village?"

"Oh my god! Could it be that hotheaded kid who tried to save the village chief's second daughter before?"

"It couldn't be him, could it? He's been gone for so long, he should have been eaten by a tiger long ago."

"How could it be him?"

Chen Dabao looked at the notice and sneered, "If it were him, I'd eat shit upside down!"

However, no sooner had he finished speaking than the sound of gongs and drums came from the village entrance.

Looking up, one could see Jiang Ming riding a tall horse, dressed in official 'administrative attire,' and swaggering into Chenjia Village, surrounded by several constables.

Chen Dabao was shocked, his eyes wide as saucers, and he swallowed awkwardly.

"Listen up, you villagers!"

The leading constable banged on a gong and shouted, "Come and pay your respects to Lord Jiang! From now on, if there are any security issues in your village, Lord Jiang will take care of them!"

"Lord Jiang! Lord Jiang!"

An eight- or nine-year-old child, with snot running down his face, laughed and said, "The village chief's eldest son just said that if you really are the tiger-slaying hero, he'll eat shit upside down! Hahaha!"

Children speak without thinking, and Chen Dabao's face immediately turned ashen. He raised his foot to kick the child.

"Oh? Brother-in-law, is that really true?" Jiang Ming raised the corners of his mouth slightly, looking at Chen Dabao with a sinister smile and asked.
