Chapter 5 I Can't Swallow This Injustice

Since ancient times, how can the hatred of having one's wife stolen or the hatred of having one's father killed go unpunished?

Chen Ermei herself may not like it and may keep it for future use, but she absolutely cannot let it go to another man!

We chose an auspicious day and held a wedding with Chen Damei. We moved into a new house and had a place to stay. These things need not be mentioned.

Chen Damei was also a reasonable and kind woman. Knowing that her husband had rescued another poor girl from the mountains, she agreed to let him take her as a concubine.

Jiang Ming then readily brought Murong Xue back from the county inn.

Newlyweds, lying in bed together, Jiang Ming learned some of the inside story.

It turns out that this somewhat old and shabby house used to be the former residence of Chen Damei's mother.

Madam Chen was jealous and couldn't tolerate her mother, so she drove her younger sister's mother here.

Later, the younger sister's mother, who was both poor and sick, died in this house.

Now that her younger sister has married Jiang Ming and has her own little family, she returned to her old home. Overwhelmed with emotion, she couldn't help but shed tears.

"My husband! I know I am lowly and unworthy of you. I am grateful that you have not abandoned me and have taken me as your wife. I will serve you well, work hard, be a good wife and mother, and not let you worry about anything..." Chen Damei said affectionately, sniffling and burying her head in Jiang Ming's arms.

"Hey... a couple should understand and support each other. There's no such thing as being inferior or anything like that..."

Jiang Ming pinched Chen Damei's chin, looking at her with eyes full of love.

I must say, under the hazy moonlight, Chen Damei is really beautiful!

Although she doesn't have a high nose bridge or big eyes like Murong Xue, her features are just as delicate, with a unique charm.

Especially her snow-white arms and shoulders, which were truly as if they were carved from jade.

“Your father is a real bastard,” Jiang Ming sighed, patting Chen Damei on the shoulder. “He promised me 70 jin of rice, but he gave me 70 jin of brown rice instead. He’s playing word games with me again…”

"Now that we've separated, we'll each live our own lives. Husband, please be careful and don't let them take advantage of our kinship..."

Chen Damei tucked the quilt up further, hugged Jiang Ming tightly, and murmured, "Tomorrow, I'll replace some bran with the brown rice and mix in some wild vegetables. That should be enough for us to get through this winter."

"Isn't that unnecessary?"

"My lord, today I heard from my father that we suffered a defeat at the front, and the king is going to requisition grain again. If that happens, our village won't even have bran to eat. We must prepare in advance..."

"Honey, don't worry, with your husband here, you'll definitely not go hungry..."

Jiang Ming kissed Chen Damei's face, then rolled over and used his knees to separate her legs.

"Husband? What's a husband?" Chen Damei was a little confused.

Just then, there was a knocking sound at the door.

And then there was Chen Ermei's cry: "Sister, brother-in-law! Save me!"
