Chapter 356 Never Enter the Tower of Babel
Chen Sha's wounds did not escape her parents' notice.
When they asked their daughter about the injury on her arm, Chen Sha only said that she had accidentally bumped it.
Mr. and Mrs. Chen did not ask any further questions.
The next day, the five of them gathered again to farm the tower.
Now that they knew the demonized spider's attack methods, the five became even more cautious.
Even though they were careful, there were just too many mutated spiders, and their webs rained down from the sky as if they were free.
They were caught between dealing with the mutated spiders and dodging the spider webs, barely able to keep up with each other.
They failed many times before finally obtaining their first spider silk.
Chen Sha collapsed to the ground, exhausted: "Heavens! The spider silk has finally burst! It was so hard!"
Li Yingying was also sitting on the ground, panting heavily. She glanced at Chen Sha lying on the ground and frowned. "The ground is covered with dead spiders. Aren't you disgusted?"
Chen Sha was so tired that she didn't even want to move her fingers. "Whatever, I'm exhausted."
Qingfeng looked at Chen Sha: "Shasha, your face is very red, are you sick?"
While they were talking, Chen Sha actually fell asleep from exhaustion.
Ming Qing: "Sasha is tired, let's continue tomorrow."
Qin Feng: "Now that we've obtained the [Spider Silk], we don't need to keep grinding, right?"
Ming Qing patted her shoulder and smiled innocently: "You're satisfied with just one [Spider Silk]? You should at least get ten or eight of them."
Li Yingying and Qingfeng helped Chen Sha up. Qingfeng said, "Let's take Shasha home first. As for whether we should continue playing the tower, we can discuss that later."
The two stopped arguing and left.
Chen Sha slept for a whole day and night.
When she woke up, she felt a little groggy.
Qin Feng happened to come to see her and noticed that her complexion was off. He asked with concern, "Sasha, is there anything else that's bothering you?"
Chen Sha felt like her head was a complete mess, and she felt dizzy and lightheaded.
She lay back down on the bed, but the discomfort did not subside.
She tapped her head. "My head doesn't feel quite right, probably because I'm too tired... By the way, when are we going to do the tower run again?"
Qin Feng frowned, "You're already like this, what are you still doing?"
Chen Sha muttered, "I'm fine, just a little tired. I definitely have to keep climbing the tower. To make a name for myself in history, and to eat all the delicious food, I must climb the tower!"
Qin Feng sighed, "What does eating all kinds of delicious food have to do with climbing the tower? If you want to eat any kind of food, we'll all go with you."
Chen Sha shook her head and said, "You don't understand, do you? You only become famous by clearing the Tower of Babel. Once I'm famous, won't I attract more people to our village? Don't you want to see someone who has cleared the Tower of Babel? If more people come, there might be a great chef inside, and I can eat more delicious food!"
Qin Feng was speechless, overwhelmed by her wild imagination.
Chen Sha, however, thought that she had agreed with her idea, so she clapped her hands and decided, "Then let's do it tomorrow. I should be fine after resting for another day today."
Before Qin Feng could say anything more, she ruthlessly told him to leave.
Back home, Qin Feng felt increasingly uneasy.
Chen Sha is very mischievous. She has been running around the village since she was a child and seems to have inexhaustible energy. She is the most energetic of the five of them.
But all four of them were fine this time, so why was Chen Sha the only one who felt dizzy?
Was her dizziness caused by playing Tower of Trials?
"Feng, dinner's ready." A gentle voice suddenly interrupted Qin Feng's thoughts.
It's her mother.
Qin Feng walked out of the room, washed his hands, and sat down at the dining table. The mother and daughter ate their meal quietly.
Suddenly, Yang Qing asked, "Ah Feng, why haven't I seen you forging equipment lately?"
Qin Feng suddenly felt a little guilty. She lowered her head and said, "I've been with Qingfeng and Shasha these past few days."
Yang Qing didn't say much, "Eat more, your face has gotten thinner."
Qin Feng lowered his head and ate his rice. "By the way, Mom, I'd like to go to Dad's study to find a book to read, is that alright?"
She never met her father; he died when she was very young.
Every time she asked her mother about the cause of her father's death, her mother would remain silent.
She stopped asking after that.
My father has a study, which is very clean and contains many books of all kinds.
She went in a few times when she was very young, but after she started school, her mother locked the door to the study.
She wanted to go to the study to see if there were any books about the Tower of Babel.
To everyone's surprise, Yang Qing's expression suddenly changed, and she looked wary. "Why are you suddenly asking this?"
Qin Feng didn't expect his mother to react so strongly, so he quickly explained, "I wanted to see if there were any books about forging inside."
Upon hearing this, Yang Qing's expression froze. His gaze was clearly directed at her, yet it seemed as if he were looking through her at someone else.
After a long pause, Yang Qing said, "I'll go look for it for you after we finish eating."
Qin Feng pursed his lips. "I can find it myself."
Yang Qing: "I'll go find it."
Qin Feng conceded, "Alright then."
The mother and daughter didn't say anything more and quietly finished their meal.
After dinner, Qin Feng helped Yang Qing tidy up, and Yang Qing went back to her bedroom to get her key and went into the study.
About half an hour later, she came out carrying a thick book.
Qin Feng took it; it was a book called "Complete Guide to Forging Basics".
She remembers this book.
When she was a child, the first book she saw in her father's study was this book.
Of course, she couldn't read at that time, but she was immediately attracted by the various equipment illustrations on it.
This book can be considered her enlightenment book.
Now that she has this book again, her feelings are quite complex.
Yang Qing patted her head and said gently, "Afeng, this is a book your father left behind. Now I'm giving it to you."
Qin Feng nodded solemnly: "I will take good care of it."
Yang Qing lifted his foot to leave.
Qin Feng suddenly asked, "What exactly caused Dad's death?"
Yang Qing's gentle expression vanished instantly, and her face turned pale. "That's all in the past."
A moment later, she added, "Never enter the Tower of Babel."
Then he left without looking back.
Qin Feng held the book, not understanding the deeper meaning behind his mother's last words.
From a young age, they were repeatedly warned not to enter the Tower of Babel, but the adults never told them why.
Over time, some people started saying that there were terrifying monsters in the Demon Tower, and that you would be eaten if you went in.
Qin Feng used to firmly believe this.
Until the five of them entered the Tower of Babel.
There are indeed monsters in the Demon Tower, but they are not as terrifying as the rumors suggest.
Defeating the monsters inside might even drop items.
Why don't the adults let them enter the magic tower?
Could it be... that the Tower of Babel holds other secrets?
