59 Coastal Floating Bridge - Day 7 Part 3
Pirate Clash
In the dark room, Yan Lan's eyes were surprisingly bright. She stood up quietly, shaking off the weeds on her body, and had already made a plan in her mind.
She walked to the door and gently pushed, but only felt the cold, restraining metal chains. As expected, the pirates were wary of her and had locked her securely inside.
Yan Lan quickly thought of a countermeasure in her mind.
A moment later, she pulled out a burger from a hidden compartment in her backpack. It was a burger she had left behind, still emitting a tempting heat. The aroma of fried steak, in particular, was enough to awaken any dormant taste buds.
She gently placed the burger near the crack of the door and fanned it gently with her hand, letting the aroma drift even further. Sure enough, the young man, still asleep, was drawn to the aroma and muttered drowsily, "I'm so hungry! What's that smell? Why does it smell so good?"
Seeing this, Yan Lan curled up the corner of her mouth into a barely perceptible smile, and continued to fan the air in her hands with greater force, allowing the aroma of the hamburger to spread even more freely.
After a while, the two pirates who were originally sleeping were awakened by the fragrance. They sat up straight and began to look around for the source of the fragrance.
"Do you smell it? What a nice smell!" A young pirate rubbed his nose and looked at his companions with anticipation.
"I smell it! It's definitely beef, my favorite beef! I almost forgot what beef tastes like. I haven't tasted it for at least five years." Another pirate's eyes lit up, as if he had already seen the delicious food before his eyes.
"This smell seems to come from the room." The first pirate frowned, trying to identify the source of the smell.
"Yes, it's inside!" The second pirate leaned closer to the crack in the door, took a deep breath, and became even more excited. "Is this woman really eating delicious food behind our backs?"
"That shouldn't be the case. We are watching her so closely, how could she have a chance?" The first pirate hesitated, but the curiosity and greed in his eyes could not be concealed.
"You never know. She might have hidden something somewhere we don't know." The second pirate seemed to think it made more sense, and his eyes flashed with eagerness to try.
"Never mind, let's open the door and see." The first pirate made up his mind and took out a flashlight from his waist. A beam of light instantly illuminated the door frame.
With the rustling sound of metal chains, the door slowly opened, and the beam of the flashlight drew a bright trail in the darkness.
One person walked in first.
Yan Lan, who was hiding behind the door, flashed and slashed the neck of the pirate who entered the room first with a precise and fierce knife with lightning speed.
The pirate didn't even have time to react before his eyes rolled back and he fainted on the ground.
Another young pirate, following closely behind, was about to scream when Yan Lan acted quickly, stuffing a handful of rags into his mouth with perfect precision. Then, with a powerful kick of her legs, her knees landed like sledgehammers on the pirate's knees, knocking him to the ground.
The pirate's face was distorted with pain, but he could only make a muffled "wuwu" sound.
The sharp knife in Yan Lan's hand flashed with cold light. She mercilessly pressed the tip of the knife against the pirate's carotid artery. Just a light stroke would be enough to kill the pirate's throat.
The pirate's eyes were filled with fear and his body was shaking. He never thought that a big and strong man like him could be subdued so easily by a seemingly weak woman.
"If you dare to make any sound again, I promise to send you to hell immediately." Yan Lan's voice was cold and resolute, without any hesitation or softness.
The pirate, kneeling on the ground, shook his head desperately, the fear in his eyes growing even stronger. He knew his current situation well, so he could only obey.
Yan Lan's hand holding the sharp knife was as steady as a rock, and with a slight flip of her other hand, the steaming, fragrant hamburger appeared in her palm again.
She dangled the burger in front of the pirates and tempted them, "Tell me where your boss is, and this burger is yours."
The pirate's eyes followed the movement of the burger, the desire in his eyes almost overflowing.
When the young man heard Yan Lan say that she would give him the hamburger, he nodded frantically like a chicken pecking at rice, his eyes flashing with an extreme desire for food.
"Don't even think about playing tricks or looking for help. I will get rid of you before any help arrives." Yan Lan's eyes were as cold as ice, and her tone was filled with an unquestionable threat.
After receiving repeated assurances from the man, he took out a pen and paper from his backpack and handed it to him.
The pirate's hands trembled slightly with fear, but under Yan Lan's deathly gaze, he had to bite the bullet and cautiously drew a map of the sailboat on paper, marking the boss's hiding place.
"Where does the man named Jack live?" Yan Lan continued to threaten.
The pirate didn't dare to look at him at all, and just drew a small hook on the paper with a pen.
"Is there anything wrong with the drawing?" After finishing the drawing, Yan Lan took the blueprint, raised her eyes and stared at the pirate coldly, her eyes seemed to be able to see through people's hearts.
The pirate was frightened by her eyes and shuddered. With the rag in his mouth, he could only shake his head and say "wuwuwu" to indicate that he had not drawn it wrong.
Yan Lan carefully examined the drawing, and after confirming that it was correct, she folded it and put it in her trouser pocket.
She looked up again, her gaze falling on the pirate's expectant eyes. The corners of her mouth suddenly curled up slightly, revealing a meaningful smile.
Seeing this, the pirates couldn't help but feel a little confused, wondering why Yan Lan suddenly laughed.
However, in the moment he was stunned, Yan Lan had already attacked again, slashing down with a fierce knife, directly hitting the back of his neck. The pirate felt his vision go black, and he fainted in disbelief, completely losing consciousness.
Yan Lan quickly and meticulously stripped the two pirates of their swords and guns. She deftly took off one of the pirates' headscarves and wrapped them around her own head, dressing herself up to better blend in.
Then she picked up the flashlight on the ground, but considering that the flashlight might expose her whereabouts, she decisively extinguished it and decided to rely on the faint candlelight inside the ship to guide her direction.
Yan Lan knew full well that she was currently in the lowest level of the ship, a cluttered storage area. Her target, the blond, blue-eyed boss, lived on the top floor.
With her deep memory of the ship's map, she quickly mapped out the best route in her mind, carefully avoiding patrolling pirates along the way.
These pirates were either vigilant or lax, and with their superb camouflage skills and agility, they could always find hiding places or quickly pass through their sight at critical moments.
On the way, she turned a corner and walked a few more steps. Since Captain Jack repaid her with evil for his kindness, she would not be polite either.
When she finally approached the top floor, a patrolling crew member passed by her with half-closed eyes and yawned, completely unaware that this seemingly ordinary "crew member" was actually an outsider.
Yan Lan held her breath, gripped the railing tightly, and with a nimble somersault, she silently jumped from the second floor to the top floor and headed straight for the boss's room.
However, just as she had gained her footing and was about to breathe a sigh of relief, she suddenly heard a slight rustling sound in her ears.
Her heart tightened, and before she could smile triumphantly, a round, furry figure fell from the sky and landed right in front of her - it turned out to be Snowball.
Ever since the pirates landed on the island, Snowball cleverly hid on the top of a tall coconut tree, using his small size to remain perfectly invisible without being noticed.
When Yan Lan was unfortunately forced onto the ship, Snowball followed closely behind, quietly clinging to the hidden spot of the sail and never leaving.
While Yan Lan was secretly planning her escape on the boat, she didn't forget her loyal companion. She briefly explained the action to Snowball that night and gave him a lighter and a bucket of oil as a "secret weapon" to be used at a critical moment.
Snowball seemed to understand, his eyes widened, and he waited for that moment with great anticipation.
After Snowball left, Yan Lan calculated the time, took out a pistol from the compartment of her backpack, accurately blasted open the door lock, and broke into the pirate boss's room in a high-profile manner.
The boss was deep in sleep when he was suddenly awakened by the uninvited guest. He subconsciously reached for the gun under his pillow.
But Yan Lan had already foreseen the situation. Her marksmanship was so accurate that she shot the boss in the wrist. The pain was so severe that he almost lost consciousness. He could only shout helplessly, "Enemy invasion! Help!"
However, at this moment, flames shot up into the sky on the ship. A sudden fire broke the tranquility of the night. The crew members were awakened and screamed in fear. The whole ship was in chaos.
"The warehouse is on fire! Put it out!"
"That rice is our lifeblood, come and put out the fire!"
In the pirate world where food is extremely scarce, the importance of food is self-evident.
When the fire broke out, all the pirates almost immediately gave up the idea of defending their boss and rushed to the warehouse to save the precious rice. Even the crew members on the deck who were responsible for patrolling the ship abandoned their posts and joined the firefighting.
In this corner where no one cared, Yan Lan acted quickly and subdued the pirate leader in an instant. Then she quickly scanned the room, looking for valuable supplies.
According to the young pirate, the pirate leader's collection was hidden in an antique black wooden box, which was cleverly placed under the bed.
Yan Lan was very skilled and without hesitation exposed the mysterious treasure in broad daylight.
Seeing this, the pirate leader was furious, his beard stood up, and he tried to struggle and resist, but Yan Lan kicked him lightly and he stumbled to the ground again.
To ensure that nothing goes wrong, Yan Lan found a strong hemp rope from the compartment of her backpack and tied him up tightly, making it difficult for him to cause any more trouble.
The pirate leader's cabin was filled with treasures, including not only the legendary black wooden box, but also sharp swords, whole boxes of guns and ammunition, and a variety of food.
Yan Lan put all the treasures into her backpack without any hesitation.
On the ship, the crew members were busy with their own business and had no time to care about anything else. They were completely unaware of Yan Lan's actions.
She walked in and out of the room as freely as if she were at home.
When she stepped onto the first deck, she saw Snowball, who was sent to create chaos, quietly sneak out from the shadow of the cabin. When he saw Yan Lan, he was very excited and immediately ran over to ask for praise.
Yan Lan gently stroked the snowball, then placed it lightly on her shoulder. The man and the elf seemed to have a particularly good understanding.
The strong wind was like a ferocious beast, blowing flames to rage in every corner of the ship. The fire quickly spread from the cabin to the deck, illuminating the night sky like daylight.
Forced by the flames, several pirates fled from the hatch in a panic, their faces full of fear and despair.
The thick smoke almost blocked their vision, and one of them was coughing non-stop and could hardly breathe.
He staggered to the side railing, lay weakly on it, looked at the sea, and then let out a scream of terror.
"Hurry up! The cargo... the cargo is running away!"
He pointed at the sea, his voice trembling with shock.
As soon as he finished speaking, a group of pirates quickly gathered by the guardrail. They all leaned their heads out, wanting to see the incredible scene with their own eyes.
After a brief silence, screams resounded through the night sky again, mixed with various panicked sounds.
"She escaped! How are we going to exchange for food?" a pirate shouted anxiously.
"Hurry! Catch her, don't let her run away!" another pirate urged anxiously.
"But the cable is cut and the gangway is destroyed!" someone pointed out in despair.
At this critical moment, one of the pirates thought quickly, pulled out a gun from his pocket, and pulled the trigger without hesitation.
Bang, bang, bang, three gunshots pierced the air, and the bullets headed straight for the raft not far away.
However, surprisingly, the seemingly simple raft was extremely strong. The three bullets just bounced off in vain without leaving any trace on the raft.
The pirate looked at his pistol magazine with heartache. Every bullet was a precious quota. He decisively put the gun back into his pocket.
At this time, the raft had drifted a hundred meters away with the help of the wind and waves, and gradually disappeared from the pirates' sight.
Looking at the raft going away, the pirates looked at each other, at a loss for what to do.
Seeing the danger finally over, Yan Lan went into the small room on the raft and lay down on the bed in her clothes. Snowball did the same, and as soon as he entered, he threw himself directly onto the pillow.
After a series of tension and busyness, she was finally able to relax for a while and enjoy this rare tranquility and rest.
After working hard for most of the night, she soon fell asleep.
