Chapter 5 Rewards Distribution, Raincoat Blueprint
Ji Xinghan hadn't eaten anything proper all day and was starving. She ate a basket of steamed buns and drank half a bowl of chicken soup, and her stomach swelled up.
That was awesome!
She drank chicken soup while browsing the chat channel.
The channel is actually discussing food:
"I'm starving! It's already 4 PM, and I haven't eaten all day. My stomach is growling nonstop. Does anyone have anything to eat?"
"Hey, I suggest you take a look at Ji Xinghan's steamed buns. They're piping hot and fragrant. Just looking at them will satisfy your hunger!"
"What? Where can I see it?"
"Didn't the game announcement include a picture? I suspect the game did it on purpose. They gave out rewards with pictures, and just looking at them makes me feel like I can smell the delicious aroma. I've been drooling for ages!"
"You're kidding, I don't believe it... Ah, I can really smell the fragrance! How can this picture be so lifelike? Look closely, the steam is even slowly drifting away..."
"I love chicken soup, please, give me a bowl of chicken soup!"
Ji Xinghan patted his bulging belly and took another sip of chicken soup.
No, I'm too full. I need to get out and walk around!
On the chat channel, food sparked everyone's enthusiasm:
Why isn't Ji Xinghan saying anything?
"Everyone's eating and drinking, who has time to talk to you? Ugh, my mouth is watering. I can't look anymore, if I keep looking, my cornbread won't taste as good!"
"You still have cornbread?"
"Hehe, let me show you—[cold, hard multigrain steamed buns that have been sitting out for three days], this description is so vivid!"
"I was shocked! You can do that?"
"What a lousy planner!"
Ji Xinghan was also surprised. Could this kind of food be found inside a box?
Of course, only that guy was unlucky; the rest of the people posted pictures of their meals one after another. Some ate steamed buns, some ate bread, and half of them were hungry.
Ji Xinghan rubbed his stomach again; he was too full and really couldn't drink any more chicken soup.
Damn it, she couldn't control herself again and ate too much!
Ji Xinghan is a foodie, especially fond of noodles and sweets. Steamed buns, fried dough sticks, scallion pancakes, dumplings, zongzi (sticky rice dumplings), red date cakes... these are all her favorites. Once she starts eating, she can't control herself.
Fortunately, she has a special constitution and can eat a lot without gaining weight; otherwise, with her eating habits, she would have become a little chubby long ago!
Ji Xinghan strolled back to the van and glanced at his private messages.
She caught a glimpse of a familiar name—Jian Lin, the very person who had just been eating the cold, hard cornbread.
She opened the message.
Jian Lin: "Ji Xinghan, do you have any leftover xiaolongbao? I can trade them for bottled water or something, okay? Ah, I'm so craving them!"
Ji Xinghan rubbed his stomach and asked, "What supplies do you have? Tell me!"
Jian Lin exclaimed excitedly, "I have sheet metal, mineral water, plastic, fire sand, and so on—basically, everything except food!"
Plastic? Fire sand?
The next vehicle upgrade will be to a small campervan, which requires a lot of supplies, including fire sand.
Plastic is also needed.
However, of course, she couldn't let Jian Lin know her intentions.
Jian Lin hasn't upgraded to the van yet and doesn't know that the next vehicle upgrade will require fire sand.
Ji Xinghan said casually, "Okay, sort out all this mess of plastic, fire sand, and sheet metal, and see how much there is. I'll trade with you."
Jian Lin was shocked: "No way, you traded a whole basket of xiaolongbao for so many of mine?"
Ji Xinghan smiled slightly: "There are eight xiaolongbao in one basket. Do you believe I can exchange them one by one? Or, can I shout it out in the channel now?"
Jian Lin: "No, boss!"
After a moment, Jian Lin's helpless voice came: "I need to keep my sheet metal to upgrade my vehicle. I have one piece of fire sand and three pieces of plastic. Can I trade these for a basket of xiaolongbao?"
Ji Xinghan: "Of course not, these can only be exchanged for two xiaolongbao!"
Ji Xinghan felt that this was already quite a lot. If it weren't for the fire sand, she would only give her a small steamed bun with this amount of material!
Jian Lin felt a pang of heartache: "I have so many materials; they might come in handy later..."
Ji Xinghan interrupted him: "You don't have to change!"
She rubbed her stomach again and made a decision in her heart: she still had to exchange the other basket of xiaolongbao for a full meal, otherwise she would have to eat too much again that night.
What a waste!
This is for survival; she has to be frugal!
Ji Xinghan immediately posted a message on the regional channel: "Steamed buns for supplies, those interested please DM me!"
Yan Miaomiao: "Wow, xiaolongbao! I love them! Sister, I have some plastic, can I exchange it?"
Ji Xinghan: "Okay, four plastic bags for one steamed bun!"
Yan Miaomiao: "Huh? I don't have that many, sister, can you give me a discount?"
Song Zhuo: "I have it, Ji Xinghan, check the private messages!"
Song Zhuo sent a private message: "Ji Xinghan, I have 4 plastic bags, I'll trade them for one steamed bun!"
Ji Xinghan: "No problem!"
The two quickly completed the transaction.
Ji Xinghan was puzzled. Song Zhuo was too honest. He was always decisive and never bargained. If he said four plastics, he meant four plastics. If he said one small steamed bun, he meant one small steamed bun.
She had originally left room for negotiation.
The game has just started, and everyone has very few resources, so the amount exchanged is not large.
Apart from Song Zhuo, who negotiated for a while and traded three plastics for a small steamed bun, no one else used sheet metal or rubber to exchange for things; they were all waiting to upgrade their vehicles.
Yan Miaomiao pleaded for a while, intending to exchange one plastic for one xiaolongbao, but no matter how much she begged and pleaded, Ji Xinghan just wouldn't agree.
In the end, Yan Miaomiao gave up.
Jian Lin was indeed greedy, and after haggling for a long time, he finally traded one piece of fire sand and four pieces of plastic for three xiaolongbao (soup dumplings).
Five steamed buns were sold out, leaving three.
As Ji Xinghan drove, he chatted and negotiated with people. Finally, he traded the other three xiaolongbao for one piece of leather, two pieces of glass, and four pieces of plastic.
People aren't fond of plastic, but they're reluctant to trade sheet metal and rubber for things, since those are meant to be used to upgrade vehicles!
Ji Xinghan also tried to collect the fire sand, but to his surprise, he couldn't collect it at all.
She estimated that very few people possess fire sand nowadays.
Finally, she organized her supplies, which are now as follows: 9.5 bottles of mineral water, 2 pieces of sheet metal, 6 pieces of rubber, 3 pieces of luncheon meat, 3 batteries, 5 pieces of glass, 15 pieces of plastic, 1 piece of chicken soup, 1 lighter, 1 piece of fire sand, 8 planks, 1 raincoat, 1 piece of leather, 2 pieces of snake meat...
There are indeed plenty of supplies, but it's still a long way from being able to upgrade to a small motorhome.
However, she was very satisfied.
Now, she gets four times the resources for every box she opens, making her resource acquisition speed many times faster than others.
Moreover, many people in the chat channel are complaining that they are thirsty and hungry, but she not only ate her fill, but also had so much to spare. Not only that, she even upgraded her vehicle!
good!
Ji Xinghan is full of energy and working hard to upgrade to a motorhome!
Ji Xinghan glanced at her watch; she had been busy all day, and it was already past four o'clock.
The sun was already beginning to set in the west.
Let's go, keep going, and find the box!
She opened the car door and got in.
I must say, the seats are much more comfortable now. And now, the screen on the steering wheel displays: [Speed limit: 50 km/h; Battery remaining: 50 km/h/200 km!]
Ji Xinghan opened the vehicle's control panel, took out three batteries, and installed them. The car's screen then changed: [Speed Limit: 50 km/h; Battery Range: 200 km!]
The vehicle is much faster, and the faster it goes, the more boxes you can collect.
Ji Xinghan stepped on the gas and set off!
She opened the car window halfway, and the wind rushed in, immediately dissipating much of the heat.
It felt great to go for a drive!
After walking for only ten minutes, the weather suddenly darkened, dark clouds filled the sky, a cool breeze blew by, and then a torrential downpour began. A drop of water splashed onto Ji Xinghan's arm, sending a chill through him.
It's raining!
