"What is that?" Elijah Hastings suddenly pointed and said in the distance.
Several team members, including Leng Ru Bing who hurriedly got up, looked over with more curiosity than panic on their faces.
However, in their eyes, there was nothing but clumps of tree leaf shadows!
Sean Knight, however, saw them—there were two big fellows, one on each side of the bushes, stealthily and swiftly pouncing towards them!
"Get ready! Those are two jaguars!" Sean Knight raised his gun, "Use the high-powered flashlight!"
Swish!
Two beams of light shone over, and the first thing that the team members saw were two pairs of green eyes filled with ferocity!
The swift movements of the two shadows were startled by the intense light, then, seeming to be enraged, they sped up and lunged toward this location again!
"Bang bang bang!"
Sean Knight and Elijah Hastings both fired their guns! freewebnovel-cσ๓
The two jaguars fell to the ground at the sound, twitched once, and then lay still.
Sean Knight, with Sky Eye activated, looked around carefully, then scanned the distance.
Within the range of his sight, there was nothing else.
"Let’s go, drag them over here!" Sean Knight said to Elijah Hastings.
"Alright!" Elijah Hastings took the lead, gun in hand.
"Boss, you stay here, we’ll go over!" Two team members charged ahead, following in Elijah Hastings’ footsteps, their guns also at the ready.
The other team members watched the surroundings alertly, but their faces flashed with a hint of shame.
They were professionals, yet when danger arose, it was the boss who discovered and eliminated the danger a step ahead of them!
For them, who were once Special Forces members, this was a disgrace!
Sean Knight saw their expressions, laughed, and said:
"Liu, Li, don’t overthink it. Captain Hastings and I have had special experiences during our treasure hunt in the past. Our vision, especially our night vision, is stronger than ordinary people. That’s why we were able to detect these dangers first..."
With this explanation, the team members were relieved.
So that’s how it was!
Leng Ru Bing quietly moved closer to Sean Knight.
How many more mysteries were there to this man?
Sean Knight suddenly twitched his nose, and Leng Ru Bing instinctively took a step back. Did he have an issue with her scent? She hadn’t worn perfume in days, had she?
Sean Knight suddenly walked towards one end of the tent.
He bent down, picked up a heap of tree leaves, looked closely, and found faint traces of blood on them.
He bent down again and found a pigeon-egg-sized stone not far from where the leaves had been, also stained with blood traces!
By now, Elijah Hastings and the others had already dragged back the two jaguars.
Elijah Hastings was the first to notice Sean Knight’s actions. He put down the jaguar and asked:
"Boss, what did you find?"
"I couldn’t figure out why these two jaguars would attack us at the same time—these two leopards must be a male and a female, right?"
"Yes," the team members responded.
"Look," Sean Knight lifted the tree leaves and the stone, "these are items thrown here at some point—The blood on them is likely to belong to jaguar cubs, no wonder these two big fellows went crazy!"
Elijah Hastings took the tree leaves and the stone, looked around, and said in a deep voice:
"Indeed, these leaves are not from the trees around here. Someone deliberately threw them over to attract the jaguars’ aggression!"
As he said this, the faces of several team members also darkened.
In this unfamiliar jungle, if someone was secretly targeting them and able to devise such a crafty scheme of using others to do their dirty work, it meant that the foe was not only familiar with the jungle but also very cunning—clearly not easy to deal with!
"It looks like we’ve met our match," Sean Knight smiled, "However, since they only dare to make moves in the shadows, it means they’re not strong enough to confront us head-on! Just be careful, and we’ll definitely be alright!"
Sean Knight’s words dispelled the team members’ concerns, making them quickly come to a realization.
Right, the opponent didn’t dare show their face and could only attract wild animals, what did that mean? It meant their strength wasn’t strong enough!
What was there to fear then?
Two team members squatted in front of the jaguars, carefully observing the gunshot wounds:
"These shots were incredible—to hit here in such visibility, it’s not something just anyone can do!"
Both jaguars were shot in the head, one bullet entering through the left eye, nearly flipping the back of the leopard’s head, while the other had been shot through the nose, with the bullet exiting at the back of the neck.
Both had been killed with a single shot, demonstrating great visual acuity and precise gun skills.
"What beautiful animals!" Leng Ru Bing walked over, touching the jaguars’ sleek fur. These cats were like kings of this jungle, essentially without any natural enemies, and yet they had fallen to the gun.
Sean Knight and Elijah Hastings exchanged glances but said nothing.
One had great vision, the other, great gun skills. Once they recognized the jaguars’ intention to attack, they instinctively aimed for the vital spots.
While Sean Knight lacked Elijah Hastings’ gun sense, his superior visual acuity allowed him to aim with composure.
"Skin them," Sean Knight said. "Let’s not eat the meat, and I don’t know if the bones are of any use..."
"The jaguar, also known as the American tiger," Leng Ru Bing stood up, "its bones should be useful."
The eyes of several team members immediately lit up.
"Boss, I don’t need the bonus, but could I have two pieces of bone?" Xiao Li was the first to speak up.
