Chapter 1138 - 592

About three minutes later, four tall women arrived at this place.

The sight of that guy’s body elicited strange expressions from the four women – not particularly anger but more curiosity, confusion, and incomprehension.

They were adorned with tree leaves on key parts of their bodies, and their long hair was either loosely draped, tied with rattan, or simply coiled up on their heads, secured with tree branches.

They were quite beautiful, with light brown skin, high noses, deep eyes, and vivid green eyes that sparkled with vibrance.

If they entered a beauty pageant, winning a prize would be no issue.

The four girls had athletic figures; two of them held bows and arrows while the other two had javelins in their hands, clearly indicating they were no mere ornaments.

Could they be Amazon warriors?

As Sean Knight speculated, two of the girls had already knelt down to study the cause of that guy’s death. The other two began searching the surrounding area.

After a few minutes, the four gathered together again and exchanged a few words in a language Sean Knight could not understand before lifting the guy and walking back the way they came.

Sean Knight guessed that they were taking the guy back probably more to inform others of how he died than because of his identity.

Legend had it that the Amazon warrior tribe consisted only of women, who kept the daughters and sent away the sons. Could this half-man, half-monkey guy have been one of those sent away from the tribe?

Sean Knight stealthily followed the four girls, seeking to learn where they lived.

Although carrying a person, the four girls moved fast, effortlessly traversing the uneven jungle terrain as if it was a flat ground and quickly disappeared into the dense forest.

Sean Knight didn’t dare to follow too closely, fearful of being discovered.

Fortunately, with his keen senses, he was confident he wouldn’t lose track, and after trailing them for about seven or eight kilometers, they slowed down.

And Sean Knight saw another Ancient City’s ruins hidden deep in the dense forest.

This Ancient City was obviously smaller in size than the previous one but relatively better preserved. Many buildings maintained their original appearance but were mostly covered by plants like vines.

Seven or eight women of varying ages rushed towards these four girls.

Indeed, they were all women.

These people chattered around the four girls as they walked into the cluster of buildings, giving Sean Knight the chance to slowly approach using the plants as cover.

Activating Sky Eye, he could tell these buildings were at least one or two thousand years old – stone-made and constructed in fits and starts. Otherwise, they would have disappeared long ago.

However, the place was still considered a ruin—there hadn’t been any new buildings added in at least eight hundred years.

The Ancient City’s buildings were on a relatively wide flat ground, square with rounded corners, surrounded by low city walls, with ring-shaped structures within, and a Divine Temple in the middle appearing the tallest.

And it was towards the Divine Temple that the women were heading.

The roads leading to the heart of the Ancient City were few, and the original carriage-way was mostly blocked by shrubbery and vines. The women used a path free of mechanisms to come and go, and it’s unclear whether it was due to their confidence in their combat prowess or because the area was so hidden that it was tough to discover.

Sean Knight sneaked closer and then spotted clean traces at the Stone building Entrances around the Divine Temple, which he surmised must have been the women’s abodes.

Elderly women were outside Stone Houses processing various Ingredients. There were fruits, seeds, tubers, and meat.

And young girls were frolicking, each holding wooden Weapons even as they played, and striking with a force that was far from gentle.

Though struck, neither side cried but continued to laugh and frolic.

In the distance, some areas had been transformed into a training field – it was evident that facilities like archery targets and high balance beams were rough, but they were clearly designed to enhance combat capacity and not to be underestimated.

Some Stone Houses were covered with Animal skins, obviously the fruits of a hunt.

From inside the Divine Temple came an escalating argument, which Sean Knight couldn’t understand, though he guessed it was likely about the dead guy.

Circling around, Sean Knight carefully avoided the crowds, wanting only to check out the Divine Temple using Sky Eye and then leave.

He felt something within the Divine Temple drawing him in.

From his observations so far, the tribe numbered less than a hundred. Sean Knight speculated that the Cannibal Village outside had some relation to this tribe, perhaps through intermarriage or as a vassal, or even an equal competitive relationship.

The Amazon Jungle is the world’s largest tropical rainforest, filled with many unsolved mysteries.

After two loops, Sean Knight had to stop about thirty meters from the Divine Temple.

The closer to the center, the more people there were inside the Stone buildings and the better their hearing seemed to be – just now, he nearly got caught by a girl inside a Stone House.

This distance should be safe, right?

Sean Knight turned on Sky Eye and peered inside.

The Divine Temple was a square Stone building, with walls about half a meter thick. In that era, that would have been quite the undertaking!

Beneath the Divine Temple were levels of Stone Platforms, five in total, making the Divine Temple almost two meters taller than the flat ground around it.

Inside the Divine Temple, seven or eight women were gathered around the deceased guy, discussing something. Among them, a girl around twenty stood out—she wore a gold headdress studded with gemstones and adorned with feathers, and in her hand, she held a wooden scepter topped with an Emerald the size of a baby’s fist—
